Phantom Drafts 2023
No expert but the AFL are so hoorendously unpredictable you could get massive compensation for Tassie players returning home. We've just got to take best available regardless of where they are from

AFLW: Rd 09 vs Fremantle
Demonland is such a wealth of knowledge. I had a mate txt me last night to say he took his kids to the AFLW and mentioned Paxy Paxman. I was all over it cause i had read this thread

Best 44
I'd start Billings in the 2's regardless of how well he goes in the preseason. One of the Saints fans youtube things i watched said he got 50 possesions when they dropped him. He has the talent make him earn a spot.

The Pick 3 Thread
So does JT and i'll back him in. If we make a play for 1 or 3 it will be for a good reason.

Harrison Petty
Some very good points in this thread. For mine a large part of problematic behaviour (to cover racism, alcohol & drug missuse broadly) comes down to societal norms and accesibility at the time. Alcohol has stood the test of time and will always be prevalent in society. It's misuse causes widespread damage but given the prevalence its damage is blown out proportion a little bit. 50 years ago blaspheme was considered much more harmful than racism. Multiculuturalism came along and racism became a bigger issue. In another 50 years time there will be stuff we think is fine now that our grandchildren will think is completely unacceptable and morally wrong. Drugs like dope & coke, although still illegal (or decriminalised), don't raise an eyebrow because they are considered socially acceptable. Drugs like meth & juice are rife but not socially acceptable because of the carnage they are causing on the users. In jail the population is loading up on bupe because thats the easiest thing they can get in. Problematic behaviour is subjective, relative and evolving.

The Pick 1 Thread
I think West Coast or Reid's manager have done this with Reid, with him coming out and saying he is happy to go interstate. It gives West Coast a stronger hand and forces North or the Dees into offering a suite of picks to make it more likely to happen.

The Pick 1 Thread
Surely that is aimed at us

Harrison Petty
I'd prefer it stayed that way but its hard to fly under the radar when you are a premiership CHB at 21 and kick bags of goals when you go forward
-
Harrison Petty
If his foot holds up he will have more trade value than he does now but i hope he stays, more valuable to us than draft picks.

I'd be amazed if Melbourne hadn't come to an agreement with McAdam before he nominated us

Harrison Petty
I am firmly is the keep Petty camp but I'm guessing it comes down to how highly JT rated Thilthorpe is his draft year.

The Pick 1 Thread
If we are making a play for the number 1 pick & Reid there are going to be alot of dissapointed people who want us to change our game plan. This would signify we are doubling down on it. The bloke is a human battering ram that gets it forward at all costs. I haven't seen any evidence he kicks like Nick Daicos.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
He wont be replacing him as a forward

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 11
I don't know why we even bother with early picks when we do so well in 25 - 40 range

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 11
I'm death riding whoevers picked at 14

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 11
This. We seem to do well when we trade picks

Trade Rumours 2023
I'll back JT to bring in talent with the draft picks. He has the runs on the board and will continue to deliver. A key ingredient in building a strong competive list is retaining the talent. Looking to the future at all costs is no way to build a list. You seem like you are happy to go for the early picks but you'd trade the player we get in 5 years for more early picks. Retaining talent is easier and more benefitial than brining in new talent.
