  1. Its alot easier to play with a brpken toe than cracked ribbs (Cripps)
  2. It's frustrating and is very occasionally the reason we lose, however, we win much more often than we lose hence finishing in the top 4 the last 3 years. We kick to a predictable spot and stick to the side we are kicking from rather than opening it up and giving the opposition a chance to slingshot or turn their defence into offence. When we have the ball locked into our forward they can't score but we can and by nature we spend alot of time there. Having Melksham out hurts us because he kicks alot of goals from the spots in the pockets we kick it too. I'm not saying it is the right thing to do, perhaps, we should back our midfield with Gawn, Oliver, Viney etc.. but on percentages we win alot more often than not. If we had the luxury of playing Petracca in the forward line last week the percentages probably would have worked in our favour like they normally do.
  3. How does JJ normally score on pressure ratings? Would he be comparable to Brayshaw or do we lose alot there if he is the replacement
  4. I hope its delayed as long as possible so Collingwood have minimal time to appeal
  5. Too many people in this thread listening to the wrong Kane
  6. McClean looked good on Friday night. I'm not sure why they would be chasing Grundy although McClean looks like everything Grundy isn't, so they might complement each other better than gawn/grun
  7. The only alternative is to change the players who are sitting back waiting for the oppositions quick kick out of defence to our long kicking players. May, Gawn, Rivers & Chandler can all kick it 60m. Instead of repeat i50's have a ping at the goals. We're just as likely to kick a goal as we are from deep in the pocket and the opposition will need to start spreading more to try and stop it
  8. Hopefully Laura Kane fixes up the goal review system this week before we play these cheats
  9. I didn't know who Laura Kane was an hour ago but all of a sudden i like her. Seems part of her responsibilities include overseeing mental health and well being. Bye Bye Maynard
  10. Concerning that 3rd and 4th missed decent chunks of the season
  11. I reckon Hunter could play that role. He's a beautiful pass but not penetrating. Release Rivers onto the wing and let him run riot
  12. 2 weeks and Collingwoods first draft pick as compensation if Brayshaw retires
  13. If that thug didn't knock out Brayshaw we probably wouldn't be having this thread
  14. We need a dominant forward now while Max and May are still producing at last nights level
  15. This is gonna be our greatest win at the G in the modern era.
  16. A few obvervations but it was a very short and light session so don't read too much into it: The end to end no pressure drill suits Hunter but he really is a beautiful kick of the footy Oliver had the fumbles Kozzie was taking set shots at the end and wasn't setting the world on fire with either drop punts or across the body shots Chandler gets some real penetration on his kicks with little effort Smith was a no show. I've got no idea how our forward setup would look without him so I'm guessing Collingwood will be in the same boat. Hopefully he is fine
  17. My highlight so far and it is going to be hard to top the merchandise girls walking around handing out posters to the fans and trying to give Brad Green one.
  18. Melkshams pattern of leading deep in the pockets and then converting near on every time from the boundary really complemented the model by both creating space and keeping our coversion rate up. He will be sorely missed.
  19. Our greater number of inside 50's has seen us finish in the top 4 the last 3 years and win a premiership. I don't know it is a problem we need to fix.
  20. Thanks. Sanderson says it's his personal view that clubs shouldn't do it but sports scientists might disagree. I don't think he's been at Collingwood since the FIGJAM era. Interesting Selwood and subsequently Scott admitted Geelong did it last year but they didn't have the drop off over the same period Collingwood have this year.
  21. Were they loading with the top position all but sewn up? That could explain their inability to run out games. If not we could really steamroll them.
  22. I have a feeling we will give Rivers a liscense to roam wherever he wants in the finals.
