Being selfless
I said he is not selfless. Chasing, tackling, corelling or putting defensive pressure on would help his team mates more.

Being selfless
Does anyone remember our mantra in 2021? Oliver was awarded the most selfless player in our drought breaking premiership year. We talk about culture and i think the core to that is, as a collective being selfless. People who don't aspire to that within the club whether the CEO or a Norm Smith medalist aren't part of the future. ANB made a career playing a selfless role and I hope he does well elsewhere. Max spends his weekends visiting young ruckman on our list demoted to the amatuers to go and show support. He had a baby with his lovely wife and takes Oliver in to live with them because he is going through a rough patch. We have others like Fritsch who is a brilliant footballer but doesn't have a selfless bone in his body. We need to get back to what made us great and that was being selfless. How to we become more selfless again?

Pert and Roffey - The Review Thread
I mean a wide variety of people who had dealings with him from the markering team, to the coterie, to the sponsors. People don't like somebody who is charming to them when it suits and ignores them completely when it doesn't. I haven't heard he has done this at Melbourne, infact, i've heard employees speak highly of him but make no mistake he left a sour taste at Collingwood across a range of people and bodies he should have engaged better with

Christian Petracca
Strange a leader wants to leave for culture issues when he should be driving the culture. Stranger if its previous culture issues like before he signed a long term contract. I'm not buying the BS.

Pert and Roffey - The Review Thread
I say it and i said it before he came to Melbourne based on what i had heard from multiple sources within Collingwood factions

Pert and Roffey - The Review Thread
Pert was divisive at Collingwood and it seems to me a magpie doesn't change its spots.

How many years until our next premiership?
4 2 6

Gary Pert on SEN (17/8/24)
I think you're barking up the wrong tree. Trac's leak to the media was staunch in his defence of Goodwin. What if it's the CEO and President he is unhappy with? Tail wagging the dog or somebody we need to listen to?

My 3 word player analysis V Gold Coast
Jack Viney - made me cry Oliver - next year doubters
-
Christian Petracca
I don't think Pert and Petracca will be at the club next year. I know which one i would prefer.

My 3 word player analysis V Gold Coast
Tholstrup - not there yet (his decision making and reaction time isn't fast enough yet) Disco - no obvious weakness Kozzie - shouldn't have played Billings - experienced shouldn't fumble Viney - legend of club
- VOTES: Rd 23 vs Gold Coast

Christian Petracca
If the trade i have heard is on the table @picket fence wont he happy. There wont be room for another forward and it's not coming from West Coast. For the record i want to keep Trac at all costs

When you knew 2024 was over?
When Clarry makes one of the great comebacks of all time, get's a standing ovation from the crowd when he comes to the bench Breaks his hand the following week and as good as he is can't win the following week with one arm tied around his back. His season never recovers. I don't know if you can re-do surgery on a hand but if you can I know back Clarry

Farewell Alex Neal-Bullen
Everyone wishes ANB the best. His partner isn't the first in AFL history to have a baby away from home. I have had a baby who baracks for Melbourne, loves life and just old enough to hate Maynard and Collingwood. It doesn't make me more or less qualified to be concerned about ANB requesting a trade.

Farewell Alex Neal-Bullen
I can cop Petracca and Oliver noise. But this is different. We have a problem.

Rebuild Time WERRIDEE Style
Lever, Sparrow and Bowey all premiership players would be where i'd be looking for the right trade. All have strengths and apeal for other clubs but none are taking us forward.
-
Rebuild Time WERRIDEE Style
He's not just a premiership player, teams were playing a defensive forward on him in our premiership year. He probably wont get back to that form but he is worth more to our club and culture than any draft pick we would get for him. Play him in the backline where he wins one on ones and sets up play. If his body doesn't hold up next year he should retire a Melbourne champion not sold for a packet of chips.

Who wins the flag from here?
Based on their games against us i can't see anyone beating Fremantle. They have talen all over the ground and a coach that exploits the oppositions weakness

First quarter centre square stuff
When Oliver goes into the centre square i can't work out if he is tagging or being tagged. He just wrestles with them. Does it every week. If he is just drawing an opposition player away from the clearance zone it worked well when he had Petracca going into the 2 on 2 but we don't have that luxury at the moment. Gawn has a crack in his foot and hasn't taken a trade mark, pack mark in a month. Viney's body is catching up with him. Gawn, Oliver and Viney legends of the club but not effective outside of their onball roles and not effective playing them at the moment at least to their level

Part 9: Jason Taylor - Visionary or Over-rated - 2021
AMW might attack the footy like the great Matthew Whelan, which is the highest of compliments but you you wont see him taking kickouts like the wrecker did. 55m metre bullets to the best option

NON-MFC: Round 20
The difference between Bevo and Goodwin is the players love Goodwin. I'm not saying that's good or bad. History is littered with cosches the players didn't like who were successful
