  1. Thinking of the empty land, just imagine driving up Punt Road from the south.... I'm high on the hill looking over the bridge, To the MCG. And way up on high, across from the silo Is the home of the Dees. I remember I remember I'm dreaming today, Of Steven May All the burning dreams. I'm not hearing a sound, My feet don't even touch the ground etc....
  2. Just think how special it might be to hear him speak at the G next year....
  3. I've been thinking that there's plenty of upside to Ben Brown. Last season he came in not-so fit, cemented his spot late and played his role extremely well though without all that many goals of his own to show for it. Next year he'll have had another pre-season in the program to build the fitness and synergy with teammates, and with confidence riding high (surely...) plus other dangerous forwards to demand the opposition's attention (including Gawn and Jackson here along with TMac, Fritta and Weid), i have a feeling we are on for a genuinely dominant year. Nutshell: Overconfidence??? Dunno, I reckon the forward line has plenty of room to mature.
  4. Yeah, but it's good to have it anyway.....
  5. Kinda off topic....sorta... but anyone else watching suddenly realize that the actors are all very, very short?
  6. My auntie went to see the Beatles in Melbourne, and she's a Melbourne supporter.....
  7. Agree. I think it was the nadir. The listless efforts in an environment that smothers you when you're down maybe taught some blokes that AFL is so f*!#$n hard that if you aren't giving everything you've got all the time through prep and performance, you're going nowhere. After that, it was get serious or get lost.....
  8. Thanks fellas for a top-notch podcast. Might have told you before, but in case I haven't, my mum is now an avid listener - counts you among her friends. She hasn't come out and said it, but I sense that she 'appreciates the tone' of the conversation... Bringing a lot of people pleasure in difficult times. Cheers.
  9. Up til this season, I doubted his commitment. I perceived him as someone trying to get by without the will to sacrifice to achieve team goals. No more. The podcast and his performances this season convinced me that he is a champ. Not that it needed nailing by that point, but his mark and goal in the Grannie drove it home. Full respect for Gus.
  10. Great listen. Great podcast in general. Sounds like a few more are coming up too.... First time I'd heard Burgo talk about being ready to stay at MFC long-term. Pity we couldn't keep him, but you never know, he may be back.
  11. Thinking of moving back myself. Renting seems wiser at the moment.....
  12. Hmmm....there's some interesting connections there. Dogga lives with the Brayshaw's. The Brayshaw's are from WA. Gus B holds hands with Danny Frawley's daughter. Danny and Garry Lyon are related, if I'm not mistaken... etc
  13. Goody with the look of a little boy. That open hand gives it an innocence, an absence of grace, overwhelmed with joy.
  14. Cheers, Burgo. He was a pivotal get, and I’m fairly sure he’s left his methods behind. I once heard him say that the medical and performance team at MELB is the best he’s ever worked with.
  15. This is the key to understanding why Jackson is so important to us. There is no matchup for him. He is a point of difference between us and every other team.
  16. Weird thing was, I watched that second dogs goal go through in the third term feeling very glum indeed, then got a phone call I couldn’t ignore and when I returned….w’allah!
  17. You could always have them shipped in.... .
