C'mon, we're getting back to nature. Keeping ourselves grounded in tradition. Peeing in the scrub is as human as naturally human as it gets. Flushing toilets? That's so Roman... and what have they ever done for us?

With regret, I agree.... Though the more I think about it, the more I wonder if more than one team should go, and the more the regret grow. The dilution argument has credence. The NFL has 32 teams in a population of 350,000,000 or around 11,000,000 people per team. AFL has 18 teams for a population of — let's face it, it's hard to work out given the reality of demographics on the far side of the beyond the Barrassi Line, but how about half of Australia plus possibly a couple million more would choose footy over other codes, so a pool of 16,000,000? That's under 900,000 per team. Given Binman's arguments about the significance of injuries, as well as the elite demands of the game itself, exactly how much bog-average footy do we want to watch? There just ain't that many elite athletes around with bodies that can take what the game demands. I love the fact that athletic young men can earn a good living on an AFL list, but I think list-depth and dilution is a serious issue that grows more obvious with each expansion team.

Existing tunnels are very far from our site. Crossing the track means a 'path' would develop over time. Delicate (and extremely $$$) horse ankles might not appreciate that. Also, there may be psychological value in the boys getting onto the ground through a space that 'echoes' that of going up the race onto the MCG. A sense of occasion, perhaps. I'm kinda joking, but now that my thoughts linger also kinda not.... 🤔

People in the area are convinced that Glen Eira has the smallest amount of public green space of any council area in Melb. Can't quite believe it given how green it is, but there you go. Local member was even against MFC taking a spot in the Caulfield redevelopment for a while, arguing that public space should not be handed over for private use, though that seems to have gone quiet. I'd say there's zero chance of any existing facilities being usurped without violence. So, I'm sayin' there's a chance..... 😉
