And yet, "While construction risks exist, modern tunnels are routinely built under critical infrastructure (highways, railways) with little to no noticeable impact on the surface if engineering standards are strictly followed."

The idea that they NEED to shutdown the track for 12 months is utter [censored].

Why any of us would think that Gosch's + Casey is better than Waverly + Casey, I don't know.... If Caulfield was announced tomorrow it would be years away, and by the time it's done this new reset era will be over. Got to Waverly. Make it work as best we can. Move to Caulfield if and when it emerges in reality, not dreams or ideas or negotiations... We can only take the opportunities that we are presented with. Live in the present. Suck up the hurt. Win some games of footy...

We should sing this after a win. Imagine the members heaving in a rousing rendition. Tear in my eye…

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Love this bloke. Says exactly what I want to hear about letting blokes follow their instincts and playing with freedom. You can’t expect athletes to dominate playing a game that demands they restrain their energy, so I’m glad that’s gone….

Walked across the tracks yesterday. Went from just near the Schweppes billboard to the nearest the inner fence, at the lowest point. I'm 189cm, mostly legs. Took 126 steps. Hardly scientific, but the tunnel will need to be long..... and very very deep at the club's end. With the amount of steps required going down, I'm thinking that maybe a footbridge is a better and cheaper idea. But, hell, what do I know?

Went and took another look. Actually, there's four track widths between the site of our facilities and the inside of the track – three track widths + other areas equalling a fourth.... That means a very long and deep tunnel. Not saying it can't be done. I don't know anything about tunneling except one day as a lad I crawled into a cave in the side of a creek down in Port Fairy and got my arm caught in a rabbit trap. Was a bit of a shock.

Some other issues to think about. The outside of the track must be 2m above the inside, maybe more. A tunnel at a proper depth under the turf at the inside would have to have a very deep entry on the outside near our facilities if it is to be level. Also, that roundabout at the end of Glen Eira road at the junction of the existing vehicle tunnel is already a bit of a deathtrap. People coming down Kambrook road fight with people coming up Booran road over who is going straight and who needs to indicate. If there's going to be lots of people coming and going to sporting events on weekends, that will need some thinking on...

Yeah, silly of me to forget… I’m still stuck waiting to get out after the Melb v Dawks game in 1999…..

Nah, it would have to be at least 100m. There are two track widths plus to cover. Even so, it’s not going to need a year. What a crock.

Plenty of parking on site at Caulfield, south side. Plus Glenhuntly Station parking just round the corner, and a Woolies car park just a bit further.

Come on, being stuck at Waverley would be better than being stuck at Gosch’s…

South side has its own vehicle access. Tons of parking, close to Glen Huntly station which also has quite a bit of parking. Nth side has a carpark that will (mostly) be built over for our and others' buildings. Very close to Caulfield Station.

Welcome to Demonland: Thomas Matthews
Was just thinking "Jeez that Timothy Reddan-A'Blew has no sense of humour, bringing MFCSS into this otherwise very positive thread..." and then I woke up. T-RAB crushed it.

Bloke tells me anything to do with horses means Tetanus. Could be that. Otherwise, maybe reps from the Filth had toured the site....

Nothing inside. Empty stables. Actually, there’s a sign up on temporary fencing that warns of contamination of some sort. I’ll get a photo….
