  1. No No No. Never like the sales talk that sold members on the first Tyson/ Salem deal.
  2. Good point. The leaders will know if he is worth the risk, then do due dilligence
  3. So what is he doing in the hub if it doesnt matter where he is to do the job. Free meal, accomadation and COVID safety.
  4. The sort of thing that can cost you in a Grand Final. I just think it is simple coaching stuff. Look Christian, that is not on here mate. Dont do that again. Give him some options if that scenario presents again . Move on. Next Maybe Goody has, who knows?
  5. You are quite sure he can do this whilst in the hub. Interesting. So we can expect an announcement soon then?
  6. I would add with a consistent forward six or so forwards gain confidence in each other and know where to run to and spread. I think the whole forward pressure thing is overdone. If the forwards are working on getting the ball it is out of the oppositions hands. I wonder if our forwards are out of synch with when to attack, create and defend.
  7. Joke warning AF. I would not want to ask you for directions if I was lost.
  8. Might work, veteran half a year and then promote a rookie
  9. So handballing to the opposition is preferable to being caught holding the ball. No
  10. Nice post. Red and Blue. I would imagine he would be tickled pink to receive a letter of support from opposition Clubs. Who knows what went on in Saints/ Dees games back then. Regardless we are the football community. I gre up with some ethnic kids. They were abused every game we played. They also went to a Private school where the teachers treated them like animals. Some thirty years later at a reunion the school issued an informal apology. I know it meant a lot to them.
  11. I know what ther likes of John Kennedy Snr and other great coaches would make of that statement.
  12. And you can demand Petracca never handballs, Under 12 style over his head again. We dont know but there are lots of instances where players must be really told in no uncertain manner not to do something again, on the spot in actual time, not in review. Maybe the cameras dont highlight but I think they would if Goody was immediately on the phone after an action like Petracca handballing over his head.
  13. Percentage to play a part but I have us 9 or 10. I have had us 9-12 all season. That said the Club still has an opportunity to make the finals and participate in a Unique finals series. Some here argue we have the players, some the coach but no evidence yet of being a finals side. If we dont make the finals I say we will be a very damaged Club of players and coaches going into the 2021 season so it is all on the line now.
  14. Sure, opportunity is something this group need to grasp front on. I do not follow other games closely anymore so take on board your ideas. I would add that if I was coaching I would tell the players not to leave anything at all in the tank this week and leave it to the coaches and the fitness guys to worry about the following weeks. Oddly I estimate over the past 56 years I have predicted us to win 70 per cent of our games. However in the past 2 years it would be down to 30-40 per cent.
  15. Yeah, all good. This week is such a big game for us. The Saints will think they know how to beat us. Pressure and speed.
  16. So by extension you are criticising the pro, Goody. Dlanders are just amatuers.
  17. Invest in one or two diamonds in the rough each year. Why not that rather than a few journymen.
  18. Never met Robbie, wish I had, and I will do what I can to reach out and give him a personal letter of support. Perhaps Demonland could offer their support as well? If possible it was made ever more harrowing for me as I knew the second in charge of the Collingwood Cheer Squad and also have spent considerable time with quite a few of the members of a Champion team who Robbie had an outburst against. The players are regarded as good knock about blokes. It is hard to know what they were thinking. And boy, what a player he may have been. He had the most lightning reflexes I have ever seen.
  19. Agree on this one EO. Every Club likely has a reason to help Robbie out in some small way. Would love us to reach out to him.
  20. Last word for me on Tomlinson He was not the problem yesterday but the position we recruited him for was and still is. So instead of filling a gap in our wing position in our 2019 recruiting we have to go out and do it again this year.
  21. 1. Do you concede the Club recruited him as a wingman and marketed that idea to Members to fill a glaring hole 2. Omac hasnt come on? Are you saying the club thought he would improve this year. If so no wonder we are where we are.
  22. My intent was not to push the point on Frost. You are cherry picking. The point was the Club made a point of going out and getting a wingman on a substantial contract. They then told the Membership they had recruited a wingman for the MCG. He isnt playing that position because he is not a wingman, even in the knowlege it is a major weakness. If you cannot understand it is poor recruitement then thats your issue but it does not solve our wing and outside run problem.
  23. Mahoney on Tomlinson He’s played a number of different roles for the Giants, but predominantly what we’re looking for is someone who can run up and down the MCG on the wing.
