  1. Sure, I like him too, but even the commentators who spend about 5 minutes doing research before a game zeroed in on Boak as a key for Port.
  2. Apology Dazzle is to write 5 lines of Simon Goodwin is not a good coach.......
  3. Appreciate your comments Fork. A professional interview process would have concluded, yes, seems like a nice bloke, made a few mistakes like all of us, yes, we understand that, however those errors rule him out fom coaches our Football Club.
  4. Rules of a duel Highlights of the rules include the steps of an apology, might call off the duel; proper dueling etiquette in terms of dignified behavior; the role of seconds; and what constitutes the end of a duel. Apologies. An apology on the part of the challenged could avert a bloody duel if delivered properly.
  5. Oliver is A Grade at getting his body in a position to get the ball from the best tapman in the business. What he is not A Grade at is getting to the spots that will give him a clear kick. The question for Goodwin is whats the point of him getting the ball in positions where his kicks are not to advantage and often cause turnovers
  6. Fair call on a lot of them. That said it is a coachs job to improve players when they are in the system. The only one I can see who has improved under Goodwin is Petracca.
  7. Apparently he is a very good person to work with. Well, that does it, you got me. Case closed. How very MFC.
  8. It will all end in tears. Just wait. Do some of you people live under rocks. Players and coaches personal lives and misdemeanors are brought up every day of the week. Weak, yeah, good on you keyboard.
  9. Not sure what the idea is to link the articles but my point was it is only now Goodwin has got angry. I find that rather odd after the 2018 prelim disaster, the 2019 crash and this years offering prior to Port. What has prompted this now.
  10. Boom boom, Goodwin is a public figure, a leader of young men, his gambling and involvement with the Essendon saga are on the record and are public information. Both give an insight into the guy. The first speaks of personal greed and the second vanity. His stubborness is the cause of much of our current woes and it is important to understand the man to understand how he will handle this crisis.
  11. I think Godwin is p.... off because he knows the heat is coming for him. I am not convinced it is the sort of anger we feel for our Club. He can see personal failure again just like when he got done for gambling and mixed up in the Essendon business.
  12. It is a little thing but maybe the footy dept and recruiters should stop using the generic term, midfielders and instead look at onballers and wingman. The wing is a specialist position and we should be targeting as such Langdon is a wingman and the Club used PR spin convincing supporters Tomlinson was is or ever was a wingman.
  13. Jones first out. Thanks for sticking with us, you were a good, not great player. We paid you well, next. Hannan, stop walking like a tough guy with your elbows out and run to the pack, not around it, Brayshaw. take a week off, genuinely relax, come back and have a fair dinkum talk about if you want to continue playing footy or whether you are just doing it for the $$$. Harmes, go away and listen to what Tommy Hafey said to Kevin Sheedy when he got fancy. "Go back to being a back pocket plumber type of player". Tmac. Take a week off, you are an intelligent guy and lets have a heart to heart talk about your future when you come back. Now, the rest of you are on notice.
  14. Agree on Lever, called it a while ago about the Cloke similarity. His build or lack of development speaks to his style of play. It takes less courage to just punch the ball rather than put your body on the line and try and mark. Did you see him when he was totally clear and fisted to the boundary. In school footy you woulda got called out for not having a go. I was an average footy player who never thought I could make VFL but if someone had told me to spend my whole junior footy career just punching the ball, I had grown to Levers height and could point a bit, who knows.
  15. I are likely not alone but did predict that the Brisbane game would be on the line with 5 minutes to go. It was and we blew it. So its time to look hard at who panicked in the last minutes. Fritisch obviously but for me it was Hannan. He has to pay a penalty for not realising he had control of the ball and the game was in his hands.
  16. What would we get for Melksham. Its time to replace him.
  17. As a kid it was the 48 tram along Bridge Rd to the MCG for me. On the trip home we would be balancing on the skirting board of the tram, some blokes would be in the drivers cabin at the opposite end to the driver. Drunks all around but never a concern for our safety. They were a good natured bunch. Conductors and inspectors had about as much chance as we did against the power clubs like the Tigers, Blues, Bombers and Pies. Fantastic fun. When an adult we approached from the south and would park around the shrine and walk through the gardens with the autumn leaves scrunching at our feet. Friday night G lights blazing as we came down the little hill near the Bowl. I miss those rituals nearly as much as the games. It will be all those memories that will come flooding back when we finally taste success I glimpsed at a seven years old boy.
  18. Agree with the Howe comparison. He should also watch the Gold Coast defender from last week.
  19. Consensus view here has been we need two tall forwards and a less rushed game plan.
  20. He does not have the footy instincts his Dad had and he was an average, good, albiet spectacular player going at a goal and a bit a game. The work required to make him a good player is a bit of a gamble. Happy to be wrong though.
