TRAINING: Friday 4th February 2022
Thanks to those who attend/write up on training. HUGELY valued. for those who attend regularly, what role have they been training Weid in? Stay at home/bring the ball to ground type or higher Up the ground? He seemed to look more comfortable getting his hands on the ball further up the ground but I just donāt think that is what we need from him.

COVID Disruptions 2022
This is the problem - it will rip through Perth, the only way to avoid that is keeping the joint shut which appears to be his strategy. A lot of players through the league have already contracted the virus so the hope is by the time the season comes we donāt have the disruption that is happening in the nba. Perth opens up in March both Freo & WC will have had zero players get the virus so you can just see their seasons are going to be far more at risk than anyone elseās. Get them into VIC now I say.

COVID Disruptions 2022
McGowan has delayed WA opening back up. Delaying the inevitable over there. Iād say Freo/WC would be getting nervous about having to shift interstate for a periodā¦

2018 Player Reviews: # 27 Harley Balic
From Bennell/Harmes Instagram it appears Harley Balic has passed away. Devastatingly sad.

COVID & AFL 2021
I love your optimism but if Steven Mayās Instagram off-season is anything to go by Iām less convinced about our social discipline

Farewell Luke Jackson
Whilst his preparation/professionalism is well documented on āland, there are signals he isnāt the most mature of fellas yet (club opposing him moving out from the Brayshaw residence an example). Maybe he is being advised to not rush into a long term deal halfway across the country when he perhaps isnāt clear on what he wants long term? He is one of few who have the luxury to grow up a little more and then make a decision

TRAINING: Monday 6th December 2021
This may well have been covered in another thread but why is Jacko staying in Perf but Rivers is back for training? Pretty sure I saw a photo on Instagram of Kozzie in Hamilton Island - why isnāt he back?

2021 Phantom Draft
Cal > Knightmare. Knightmare spent 2 years bleeting that Melbourne made a big mistake not drafting Tom Green in ā19 (simply because he didnāt rate Jackson as highly as others did). Appears to have quietened on that front since The Grand Final. edit: he also failed to acknowledge the fact that Melbourne couldnāt have landed Green even if they wanted to

The Petracca v McCartin debate reprised
Yes. Weāve hardly had a flawless history at the draft. We passed on Dustin Martin twice.
-
Jaeger OāMeara
Wingard is the one Iād be scratching around. Has had his problems but he is a match winner. Only on the cheap though because, well, because we just won the flag and you get good stuff for cheap when youāre the reigning premier Iām led to believe.

So...what do we need to achieve during this trade & draft period?
How did the Wizardās boy go over in WA after he stopped training with us? Havenāt heard much so not holding my breath.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - TOM SPARROW
Tom Sparrowās rise into a solid (now premiership) player shows what good development of young players can do. He was just ready to go when we needed him. Sadly we just went so many years not properly developing kids like Tom.
