  1. Firstly, shame on you for making me read a Jon Ralph article. That bloke hurts my eyeballs and earballs in equal amounts. Secondly, it is Jon Ralph.
  2. A bit harsh - they are on record as saying they think list needs a different voice and it is rumoured the board still think we have a finals list. Roos saying we can win flag doesn’t make it true.
  3. Had a quiet chuckle when she said “it was also reported on 3AW rumour files”… lolll
  4. Caro doing her best to whip up some nasty headwinds along the path too
  5. Bugger. I was desperate to hear what Binman is going to wear to his first board meeting
  6. My guess is that terms are already broadly agreed and have been so for some time. It’s a guess before people start jumping down my throat!
  7. Who is to say they haven’t had a first round of discussions but we just don’t know about them? I understand some don’t trust the club and want full transparency BUT it is naive to think that things like discussions/interviews aren’t happening (or have happened a long time ago) behind closed doors
  8. Just because Caroline Wilson hasn’t reported that a panel has been formed which includes a ‘respected ex player’ doesn’t mean a ‘process’ hasn’t occurred /is underway. Just like player punch-ons at steak restaurants, some things are best kept under wraps.
  9. The ‘show me the process’ crew don’t seem to understand that it is near impossible to get an quality experienced coach to get involved in any public process, look at Ross Lyon with Carlton. Being a declared starter in a public process (where they are not guaranteed the gig) is too risky to their reputation, they look out of touch if they fail. I reckon Horse and Simmo have interest in coaching next year but going with the ‘I’m happy doing what I’m doing’ line to preserve their reputations whilst they wait for a phone call in the future.
  10. Love Max but I think Demonland (and the footy world) overrate his impact in those close games, partly because some of his marks ‘look great’. I can recall games where he’s dropped back in the hole and helped us win, that’s what has built this reputation. I’ve also seen games where he has tried to be a hero and made costly mistakes. I think our close-game issue is less about ‘a losing culture’ and more about the young guys/bottom half of the team relying too heavily on our stars and our stars don’t have the greatest execution in crucial moments. You end up with too many ‘hero’ moments that occasionally come off but more often than not bring us down. We need to better plan , coach and execute to plan across the team in those moments. Fly has done that pretty well at Lolingwood.

  12. The correlation between the use of the word ‘process’ and people who just dislike Nathan Buckley (mostly for clueless reasons) is overwhelming.
  13. Or maybe Oliver just needed time to recover/get fit/ adapt. Such a trucker question for the new coach: dos Oliver go (with nothing in return) or stay?
  14. I was thinking something similar - I don’t watch much footy media nowadays but would love to get some sound bites of his ramblings on the dees
  15. Or, aware Melbourne are chips in on Buckley and he doesn’t want to look silly
  16. I’ll add that one to the pile of clueless comments going around at the moment.
  17. Huh? They were one kick away from a premiership 6 years into his tenure. These times bring out some of the stupidest comments on Demonland.
  18. You might have yourself a stalker @binman 🙃
  19. “We’d like your experience for a couple of years please Nathan but then we’d like someone’s Grandpa to take the reins once he’s learned the ropes got some more confidence”. One of the more left field (like 800km past left field) ideas I’ve heard.
  20. Don’t know how these things play out timeline-wise but I’d certainly prefer we had the bloke taking the reins next year involved in immediate list management decisions and player exit interviews after the last round.
  21. Not sure what he has been doing the last few years but Sanderson was his most senior assistant late in the piece I think. I believe they are very close
