  1. His body isn’t right, constantly injured. So no, far from ideal.
  2. Literally zero proof pert has leaked that. Sure it’s possible but don’t talk about it like it’s fact.
  3. Sorry, for clarity, I wrote the last bit. Edmund was only the first para
  4. More smoke is appearing it seems. Edmund: “It’s understood Oliver’s recent behaviour has again tested the patience of some teammates, while the club has been disappointed in some things he has not committed to.” I have spoken to one player (a few months ago) who has never really gotten over the events of last year. He suggested at least some of the other players were still dirty about tthe ‘preferential’ treatment he got ie if they did the same they would’ve been booted out the door.
  5. Freo give 16 get a contracted K Pickett? Pardon me? Cooney is genuinely a halfwit. How he is still making a buck from the media is mind blowing.
  6. Worth the listen. Sam in the camp of ‘I felt things were on track again’ l, Kane in the camp of ‘the damage is lingering’. Kane says a lot of over the top, inflammatory things and I’ve been very critical of him in the past but his view here is pretty balanced and I largely agree with him.
  7. The Jackson FIX replied to dazzledavey36's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
I remember him from that draft but it is difficult to be seduced by a young kid who can’t earn his second contract at the club he has been with for the last 2 years
I’m not a huge Owies fan but at least the guy has kicked 60 goals at AFL level over the past two seasons
  8. Helps us land pick 12 from GC?
  9. This. We’re in the middle of an external review of our culture. It all adds up.
  10. You are putting a lot of words in my mouth. I just believe in supporting my club through thick and thin and get disappointed when others don’t do the same.
  11. The guy was sighted in all states of distress and undress in some very public places
. Keeping his issues quiet wasn’t a really a possibility
  12. If it’s you then Bye Bye but please don’t bother coming back (ever) if this is how fickle you plan to be.
  13. I’m not saying it is right but it might explain it.
  14. What if the current ‘investigation’ being run at the club (which is due to end soon I think?) has already arrived at a recommendation that the best thing for the club was for a certain player not to be there anymore? That might explain why the CEO is involved.
  15. Ladies and gentlemen, Michael Gleeson has entered the arenađŸ©ž “If you wanted to paint a picture of a club in disarray, this was as subtle as Ken Done.”
  16. Well I didn’t ’conclude’ that, I said it was possible. I said it was ‘possible’ because; - it seemed unusual that Geelong would be speaking to him with the limited trade assets they have IF they didn’t think Melbourne would be open to selling him on the cheap - he is taking up an enormous chunk of our salary cap for a very long time so if the FD don’t believe he will get back to his best and give us maximum value for that investment then it is reasonable to assume they’d at least explore options to move him on - the club could reasonably assume that if we were seen to be rushing him out the door in a ‘fire sale’, our members would be livid (akin to Filth members when Grundy and Treloar went) so influecing the narrative to make the decision look more out of our control has benefits
  17. If you managed to survive the Barry Prendergast years I’m sure you’ll make it through this!
  18. It is possible (regardless of how many on here couldn’t possibly believe so) that maximising his trade value isn’t the club’s primary objective and moving on from him in ‘as quiet a way as is possible’ in fact is.
  19. I reckon what went down with Clarry 12 months ago was what ripped the soul out of the club.
  20. Conspiracy theorist in me says Melbourne are pulling the strings in the background, quietly promising Geelong they’ll get him at a good discount (eg future 1st or even 2nd rounder this yr), possibly even including some of his salary in the deal, all in an attempt to move him on without it looking like we were pushing it.
  21. It was later scientifically proven that Sam Blease was the worst top 20 draft pick in the history of any sport. Ever.
  22. I don’t really know what that means
  23. So far this trade period we have; Kosi, Trac & Oliver on the way out Tom Campbell and Wade Derksen coming in. I’m drinking more in the off-season to cope than I did during the season proper.
  24. I’m ok with listening to ‘reasonable’ offers for him but Geelong’s top picks are 15 & 35 in this draft
doesn’t help any perception of stability we’re trying to build when club’s without the assets encourage stories like this
  25. Looking forward to this thread becoming dormant. It gives me zero joy.
