  1. Have your thoughts on the likelihood of a deal changed since the events of Friday (reported that the Dees have knocked deal on the head + Brad Green saying he’ll be there round 1) or was that just posturing from the club to make Geelong stump up more?
  2. I know of a premiership coach (within the last decade) who shared privately (not to me, admittedly) that he was astonished Goody had kept his job, something along the lines of ‘he’s just too close to his players’… whilst he didn’t elaborate, the feeling was he was saying ‘fun guy’ who doesn’t know the line between coach/boss and friend. Separately, I have heard from a player (directly) that goody is only the ‘much-loved coach’ to select players. If you’re a fringe player, you’re probably not one of goody’s ‘favs’ and you also then end up on the outer socially with him.
  3. Been waiting for the Alex Dodson thread to come along and give me hope again!
  4. Not when J Taylor is behind the wheel. Only B Prendergast was capable of creating that mess
  5. Yeah but you could end up with a Fyfe or a Cripps or a C Curnow
  6. The Jackson FIX replied to SthSea22's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Haha just saw this, very funny… I always thought the derksen was that dangly bit at the back of your mouth?
  7. There’s been a lot of weird posts on here of late but this has just taken the lead.
  8. Maybe there was/is a zero-tolerance agreement in place with Clayton. In fact I hope there is after what he put the club, its employees, his teammates and us supporters through last year. After all that has transpired, if he doesn’t understand that going on a bender at the Brownlow is a bad idea, then I’ll be furious if we don’t move him on. We’ll never solve for the problems at our club if we don't start holding people accountable.
  9. Either pull the trigger or don’t put your finger on the trigger in the first place. Not pulling the trigger now guarantees a [censored] show. Our cultural reset will be set back many, many years.
  10. Only that he is looking for multiple yrs. 1 yr left on gc contract
  11. Short term pain for long term gain. Hopefully we clean out properly and in 12 months Max is on radio talking about the roaring success of a cultural turnaround
  12. Didn’t Pert call around GF week though? Does that mean Clarry met Geelong earlier than that?
  13. Fiorini attempting to find a new home on a multi-yr deal, with one year left on Suns deal. We’re the obvious ones to bite given lack of midfield depth but I’m not a huge fan, he is just really inconsistent. Billings kind of sitting in the role he would play anyway as that midfielder-come hff
  14. I understand there is a lot of emotion in it all and these outpourings are just a release for those emotions but nothing quite says ‘nuffy’ like threatening to cancel your membership.
  15. I can’t see why it would be illegal/against rules but I couldn’t see many players going for it when they are guaranteed a higher amount via an existing binding contract
  16. Wasn’t lecturing supporters.
  17. SOLD!
  18. I think he was insinuating JUH in the doghouse
  19. Just asked someone I know who is friendly with Jamarra and his only comment was ‘Clarry isn’t the only one who is in trouble’ 😦
  20. I don’t understand this ‘I’m cancelling my membership’ or even more so this ‘what other team should I barrack for’ chat… I get people are unhappy with our situation. I’m not thrilled either. But supporting teams is about riding the highs and lows regardless of the ferocity, volume and depth of the lows. Take yourself back to the evening of 25 September, 2021. The elation of that night had the years of Barry Prendergast, the post- Norm Smith years, the sad Robbie Flower years and the disappointment of the Daniher and Balme years all baked into it. If you’re going to disappear when we approach a LOW then frankly you don’t deserve to be involved in the highs when they come along…. I feel like I’m lecturing a bunch of 6 year olds so I’m going to stop now.
  21. Can anyone tell me who/which table he was sitting on at the Brownlow?? Saw all of the insta photos of him getting his haircut and posing with some bloke I’ve never seen who appeared to be his +1 but I never saw him on the Dees’ table and nor was there any account of him on Gawn/Lever/May/Viney accounts or the Dees’ account?!
  22. … so Brad needs to cut the head off the football department, the coaching staff and the admin (after the head of the board was recently cut off), leaving us with a completely inexperienced president? Righteo.
  23. Not convinced on that… I believe there are skeletons everywhere (that he is aware of) so it is in everyone’s best interest not to back Clayton into a corner but rather to quietly move on.
  24. I think that pick has been informally committed to Dogs for some time. Dogs want more though. If that deal falls through I’d imagine Smith will nominate for national draft and Geel will use that pick on him
  25. I would be surprised if he wasn’t consulted/ involved to a degree in the decision
