  1. My stuff of fantasies trade: Go after GC pick 7, trade Future first and Bedford for Pick 7. Then trade Pick 7 And Jackson to WC for Pick 2, Future First and Pick 20 Out: late first rounder, Bedford, Jackson In: Pick 2(use on Cadmann?), an early 2023 Pick and pick 20 It won't happen as I think the dees will try get Jackson to Freo. And I think Pick 7 is only on the table with Bowes.
  2. The point is depth, getting someone from outside the AFL system mean starting from scratch. its purely for coverage! Sign him on a rookie contract for 2 years whilst our kids develop and then de-list, if we're lucky he takes his chance and becomes out 2nd wingman.
  3. haha, was very good in the VFL, purely as depth in position. could even put them on the rookie list
  4. Callum Brown and Issac Chugg from Collingwood delisted and worth a look. Brown has shown it at AFL level for periods and would be handy depth on the wing which is an area we are shallow in. Chugg is similar type player too. could be good cheap options
  5. That's the risk you take, and unfortunately the reality of being the reigning premier. you can't offer him to much money because reality is he isn't worth it, and you cant guarantee him best 22 because he hasn't earn't it.
  6. Educated guess, has been in the media too. the coaches were very [censored] with the sub rule when it came in. and the AFL have been open about wanting less rotation to open the game up. A lot of media have talked about it as something that will happen but as to when is the unsure aspect.
  7. its most defiantly a chance, none of the coaches wanted a Medi sub, they actually wanted an extra spot. The AFL want to continually decrease interchange. So it will be a compromise. The coaches get the extra player they want and the AFL gets less rotations(same rotations but an extra player) which means the game opens up.
  8. One thing i think the Melbourne coaching staff are considering is the fact there is a big chance that the bench goes to 5 next year. meaning you could play 2 rucks 3 mids and a key position/swingman on the bench. meaning we could possibly have the two best rucks in the comp, going 50% ruck time at 100% capacity or close too. This is my Theory. Also Grundy is not injury prone at all has not missed many games in 10 years. and how many ruckman in the league have had knee recons and come back, as well as key fwds. If my theory is correct it could prolong Gawn and Grundy's careers by a few years, which good rucks go on into their 30s
  9. Why would a club ever tell a player that? You do whats best for the club, and if that is keeping him then that's what you try do! You say to him we think you can make our best 22, have a big off season and make the position yours! clubs don't tell players truths they say what they need to higher/lower price, if Toby doesn't buy it then you move on. players are always told we think you can be this or that never promise, but dangle the carrot. hopefully he actually does grab it and forces his way in
  10. Baker is gone, not a smart enough footballer on the wing and has had enough opportunity. Rosman wont be gone, only 20 and been at the club for 2 years with injuries holding him back. id say Hibbo and Melk will get contracts but i think we should say thank you and move past them. also expect M. Brown not to be offered another contract either then we have Weid, Thommo and Bedford who may be looking to move on for oppertunity
  11. I think it is very important to keep bedford for a couple more years. there is a real chance that Port offer Kossie a massive deal at the end of next year. i hope the the dees make sure that kossie is comfortable in melb and want to stay with the Dees which he loves. but in the case that the offer is to much for him to knock back, we need bedford to fill that position!
  12. Be a great get from a club looking for key def, and there isn't a lot of good ones around. Would be a win win for us and him, he gets a B22 position and we free up 500k. if a deal can't be done we still keep a very very handy back up.
  13. Brown and Dunstan are direct replacements for our afl players. younger players arn't going to come into the AFL side and if they do they arn't going to play in the midfield.
  14. We still win with the Duck Worth Lewis right?
  15. He came in Head side of the player, any contact was going to risk a free and the guy was already being tackled. It just wasn't needed. just cut the disposal off
  16. Might not have been a great call but that's the stuff smith does. no need to come in that hard. Game awareness, wrap up the quarter and keep our lead
  17. Uze, Woey and Green in the stands is nice to see
  18. Weid has been great in a day where it is pissing down rain in a position he doesn't play, against an opponent with 40kgs on him
  19. Smart footy from here, move the ball fwd and stay tough over it. kick deep and long to marking targets with numbers to the contest

  21. all the talk is about Port going hard at Kossie, not Kossie is considering, or Kossie might be on the move or anything like that. so all it is is port want him are are trying to use his SA connections to pry him from us. is no reporting that he is considering it, which is good. The bad thing is that we have tried to extend his contract and he has put of talks, which isn't unusual for a kid of his talent, this is one we don't want to lose so dees make him super comfortable next yr.
  22. 100%, Clarke has done it to all the best in the league not just Salem. We should have played Bowie in that game as well as Salem and make them choose who to shut out. Hindsight hey haha, hopefully they are both in the same side next year!
  23. The 6 pages I have read are piling on him to the level of trading him, which is crazy. He played 12(13 but subbed of in 5min mark of rd1) games this season and in 6 of them went 20+ possessions at well over 75% efficiency and a few games of 117, 18 and 19 possessions. It wasn't a really poor season. Just we have very high expectations of him. He came back well after he hurt his knee then tapered off, which maybe it started to flare up again which is why he missed the last round.
  24. One bad year and everyone piles on Salem. Yeh he had a bad year, but not a horrible one. If we trade him now we don't get what he is worth. Which is an AA calibre HBF. Watch him bounce back next yr!!
  25. If Hibbo wants to go again he has earned it, but not guaranteed B22(hopefully he is forced out due to Bowie/Rivers form) Oh agree with weid, but give him the option to look elsewhere if he wants, might get a late 3rd for him if we are lucky
