  1. yup just read this on twitter to, sad loss. Time for Chandler to get his chance, and develop Andy Moniz-Wakefield in the VFL
  2. Doesn't matter how often you kick it in if the bloke you kick it too is v 2 players the whole time. Def let smaller opponents get positions up the ground and drop of in front of Brown knowing he is the most dangerous target. You have 2 of Grundy, JVR or T-Mac down there with him, the Def can't afford to not stick with them because the will mark the ball if unchecked. Brown 100% Carried our fwd line by taking the best defender every week and making a contest against him, Melksham was a bandaid that lasted longer than I thought. Buy ultimately fell off. The Delivery does need to get better, but it's easy to say that, our midfielders would look up and see Brown with the best Def on him, another Def sitting in his leading lane and then our next tall target is Melksham.
  3. 100% agree, BB is another one who people have jumped on and is undeserving. He carried our fwd line all year playing a lone hand without any help. constantly having defends drop of in front of him because they know that's the percentage play. Often having one arm held out of contests and being crashed into, No wonder he was banged up at the end of the year. The value of having 2 fit talls in our fwd line will take a massive load of him. Who knows, maybe even Weid could thrive in that set up too.
  4. So glad im not the only one on this @Lord Nev, he has had 1 injury to sit him out for a long period. before that was regularly in the AA squad and one of the best 2 rucks in the league. With arguably the best most explosive midfield in the comp, imagine the advantage of having an elite ruck combo that rotates and is always working at close to 100%. especially if the 5 man on the bench comes in and they can work a 50/50ish split in the ruck. you don't go after a guy like this just because he is cheap, obviously they have a game plan he fits into.
  5. Bugga, will have to stay at the Dees then 😉
  6. I wish all the best for Uze, but I really didn't want to see him at Ess. God I hate that mob! Might be at Port next year after Ken gets sacked
  7. Twomey reporting that he has been in Sydney and GWS have put an offer to him. He now has to make a decision as its a pretty good offer. I think out of all the rumours of movement from the club this one hurts the most(besides Jackson of course). We are in a bad spot here as he is out of contract and worth more to us than he is on the Market. Hope he stays
  8. He has not got the athleticism of either of those guys, and would have to go with a Jackson, TDK, English ect. He won't be able to keep up and compete. He isn't a ruckman, it's not a craft you learn in 1 year.
  9. Would easily get a better back up. And it happens every year that back up rucks move clubs. If we get Grundy I have no problem with Weid being our back up. But we then run the risk of if both he and Gawn get injuries then our ruck is Weid, which I don't like.
  10. 1.7 over 2 years is just too much for a guy that is in and out of a GC side that had injuries across their HB line all year. Only clubs that could do this are rebuilding clubs. Maybe NM or Hawks
  11. Played of half back and wing. Coukd be a handy depth player for cheap as chips
  12. Daniel Howe from Hawks is also a good depth option for our backman stocks. 98 games, 26yo played 9 games this year. 20 games under Clarkson last year. Clearly not in Mitchels age demographic.
  13. Bye Hunt, obviously not that upset in missing out on a flag. Just signed away any chance of getting one now. Goodluck to you but easily replaced and won't be missed to much.
  14. I 100% agree with you, and I'm very keen on Cadman too, but unfortunately it will be way more complex than just this year's picks
  15. Love the effort and time. But there is no point to making up trades with picks just from this year. Always futures involved and the Dees have recently been active in that space
  16. Travy14 replied to DV8's topic in Melbourne Demons
If they terminate his contract he is a free agent. Most likely they would stand him down till the end of the year then trade. The clauses would be more financial than sacking. More likely suspension
  17. Yup, I like this. He has also played defensive wing at times this year for WC. Is a versatile player for nothing. Narkle is another player id look at, he has something, consistency is his issue but has had some big games at the top level. Probs not the type of player we need and he probably wont go to a club where he might not get a game, but if cheap enough worth it I think.
  18. They are also bringing in Liam Jones for nothing
  19. To early for anything really. But Barret saying that WC are not interested in Jackson at all. And Freo have alot to do to get Jackson in.
  20. The reason he is playing 2s is because of his skills and defensive pressure. And in the SANFL finals when the heat turned up he was very average! Be better of investing in our list and getting a cheap backup like Phillips, who I think just didn't fit the right age demographic at Hawks.
  21. As I said he has been dropped multiple times this year, and now again for a GF, when a Key Fwd is under an injury cloud and Buddy has signed for another year. Id say it's a great time to have a shot!
  22. Im not saying you are, but we are getting him. I believe Jackson said a simmilar thing when he signed his contract extension. If you watch the doco made last year he took stewed over that contract for a while. We gotta be aggressive if we want players like that, there is no free agents( besides McStay, pass) so have a crack at someone like this. Port are at Kossie, start putting it in these players head that we want them if they aren't happy. Does it matter if he says no? Move on to the next target
  23. Well a 21yo no 3 pick has been taken from us! And McDonald sat on that contract offer for a long time, I do think he will also eventually head back to WA. It's an opportunity to try, but Na let's not worry about it and just get grundy who is on a longer contract with more money
  24. He isn't a natural fwd, would be fine if he gets the third Def. I do also like him though
