  1. Yes, but what i am saying is "LOT" of underage footy has isn't there. its the final year of underage footy, not the two years prior which are very much the years that recruiters look at.
  2. If we don't trade this pick, i think we just get the best possible player at 13, which might be Jefferson. the only reason people are saying this years draft is shallow is because they have only seen these kids play this year, this is the crop of kids that have been mostly affected by covid and barely played over the past 3 years. Doesn't mean there isn't talent there, in fact there could be a lot of hidden talent, which is where the best talent scouts come into play. keep and eye on the kids that get picked around the 25-40 mark. could be some real diamonds in the rough.
  3. It's King Panos now after kicking the winning goal in the SANFL GF for the mighty Red Legs! (also got best on ground in our previous flag)
  4. Maybe, but also i bet the rotations don't change, so Key position players that can rotate on field for a rest rather than the bench could be just as beneficial.
  5. I'm guessing there will be a Thurs night game this weekend. Which means they will probable only need 3 ovals: Adelaide Oval (Thurs, Fri, 2 x Sat 2 x Sun) Norwood Oval (Sat, Sun) and on game at Nuriootpa which is less than a hour fro the City. Being the position we are in ladder wise(2022), I would say we get one of the more popular time slots against a contender, meaning we are more likely to get an Adelaide Oval game. even though Norwood Oval is a very nice oval and brand new grand stand. If you are thinking of going for the weekend book your flights now as they are pretty cheap and airlines are real scum these days, so as we get closer they will jump! (I fly from Adel to Melb every week, any event or holidays they take advantage of the general public!)
  6. Good for depth, but let's hope our list progresses past these two and they are "break glass in case of emergency" only
  7. Agree, unless they are splitting the ruck 50/50 and not playing them fwd. Which is doubtful
  8. FB: Rivers, May, Bowie HB: Salem, Petty, Lever C: Hunter, Brayshaw, Langdon HF: Spargo, T-Mac, Pickett FF: Gawn, Brown, Fritsch Fol: Grundy, Oliver, Petracca Int: Sparrow, Viney, Chandler, ANB, JVR* * if interchange goes to 5 Emg: Harmes, Dunstan, Turner, Hibbard
  9. I sort of agree, but Jackson also won a GF and spent another of time in WA. I mean what else to you play footy for? But I hope you are right, easy for me to say being a life long demons fan haha
  10. Just saying whilst an extension is good. It's not over yet. But we now have 3 years to watch him grow in the Red and Blue
  11. This is awesome news, but Jackson also did the same in his second year. So let's hope we get another contract extension in a couple of years
  12. Daw, Brown, Brown, Dunstan were all those type players. in terms of Key position depth they are perfect, but only one or two.
  13. Collingwood have just delisted Caleb Poulter, 20yo kid from SA who played 11 games in his first season and looked like a great prospect. Not sure why he didn't get an opportunity at Collingwood maybe because they have a lot in that position, would be a great pick up IMO, young has played at the AFL level and a wingman which is a area we are shallow in.
  14. Agree with a pacey ball user, unfortunately none of those three were good ball users. a Whitfield type would be amazing if they are in the draft there somewhere.
  15. Hope we get that Jefferson, kid kicked 7 goals in 2 games with a fractured leg. we need some more young KPF. This year could be a year for late steals, these kids are the "covid" kids, there development has been stunted a bit and haven't played a lot of footy over the past 3 years(which is why experts are saying its a shallow draft, they haven't seen enough of these kids) this is where talent gurus come into their own and earn their money. I wouldn't bee surprised if some kids taken 20-30 turn out to be a lot better than they have been touted to be.
  16. This has been talked about by media all year, and has ramped up in the media in the past week. I noted this when we first went for Grundy and how it could work nicely. Coaches don't like the fact that a team gains an advantage when a player is injured, whilst i think if one side activates their sub then the other side should be allowed to also do so. The AFL looks like they are just going to go to a 5 man bench, and no changes to rotation limits. This fits very well with the Grundy/Gawn combo, and also allows us to play 2 talls up forward and maybe a tall/hybrid on the bench too
  17. Not at all, that's how much I rate Schache
  18. We would not want to be giving up much bor paying much for this poor man's Weidemen
  19. Not sure we can afford him without Tommo going out. And we need to keep him with Weid going to the Druggies
  20. 27 for Grundy, well done Dees that is a steal!
  21. Id prefer a speculative draft than him. Whilst I agree we need another tall, we're not as bad off as people think. We still have JVR and Tommo (who can play def and push Petty fwd). I do think we need another ruck though, even if it's from the state levels
  22. Hunt wasn't a deal, he left as a free agent. Whilst I was not impressed with the Jackson trade, basically we will have traded out Jackson and Bedford and got in Grundy and 2 first rounders. If we get a third rounder for Weid that great for us, but if he does leave I think we have to hold Tommo as a tall back up
  23. I hope this isn't true, Schache isn't even a VFL level player
  24. This part of the trade was very disappointing IMO. Jackson was worth 2 firsts and a second alone. So to get that for him and Toby makes me feel a bit ripped off!
