  1. I forgot about Smith, OUT in - Harmes if fit, and play him as a tagger!!
  2. Out - Baker, Melksham, Preuss, ANB In - T. Mac, Sparrow*, Hore*, Lockhart *if fit, which i think they are
  3. Best 22 for Round 1 2021 FB: M. Hore S. May T. Rivers HB: J. Lever T. McDonald C. Salem C: E. Langdon A. Brayshaw T. Phillips HF: B. Fritsch J. Hogan K. Pickett FF: T. Bedford S. Weideman J. Viney(resting mid rotation) Fol: M. Gawn C. Petracca C. Oliver Int: M. Hibberd J. Harmes L. Jackson J. Lockhart Think Hogan and Phillips are very fringe at current club, and if we are lucky enough to get an CHF well McDonald was once a super solid defender, very reliable. also is a few wing types going to be available so no reason we cant get one as long as we can afford it. Best 22 from current list FB: M. Hore S. May T. Rivers HB: J. Lever A. Thomlinson M. Hibberd C: E. Langdon A. Brayshaw C. Salem HF: B. Fritsch L. Jackson K. Pickett FF: T. Bedford S. Weideman J. Viney(resting mid rotation) Fol: M. Gawn C. Petracca C. Oliver Int: H. Bennell J. Harmes T. Sparrow J. Lockhart EMG: H. Petty T. Mcdonald C. Spargo J. Jordan
  4. Trade: Harmes/brayshaw, Hunt, TMac, ANB, Omac, Preuss, smith Delist/retire: Jones, Jetta, wagner, wagner, KK, brown, Goodwin Target: T. Phillips/polec/atkins/witherden. Hogan/waterman/gunston Clarkson, chocco williams, Gary ayres Last year, last chance: Melksham, AVB, baker, hannan,
  5. If we win remaining 3, we finish 6th. we drop 1 we're 9th. i also think we are cooked, but hang onto a small glimmer as per Demon tradition. 100% sure we knock off Freo and GWS then lose to Ess by 10 points to end the season.
  6. Pruess has to be FF, otherwise we are back to our one key Forward which worked so well for us in the first 6-8 rounds. do they learn? Bulldogs tonight put massive pressure on us, must win all 3 remaining games now or we are done.
  7. He hasn't struggled at all, he has been one of the best players. But he is a victim of one coach bringing him in then another coach taking over and doesn't like the fact he is a offensive player. He is horrible defensively, I think we should go for him, but people need to be aware if we do he is purely an offensive player. Goody doesnt like that so won't happen. Salary another issue
  8. Pruess is number one ruck in alot of sides, has shown that in the VFL. Will defs get interest in him. What he is worth, who knows, hard to sell someone who isn't in your best side
  9. Trade: Pruest - might get something for him still not sure why he came to us. Geelong, GWS, Sydney shoukd jump at him. ANB - for whatever we can get, he just doesn't fit our game plan. Spargo, Kossie and Hannah are all picked ahead of him and so will Bedford be Hunt - 3rd rounder, will get snapped up Harmes - if he isnt in our midfield rotation then he doesn't look to fit our side. Worth value 2nd rounder maybe. T. Mac - behind weid and Jackson now. Lost a bit, coukd be handy for an Ess or likes. Target: Polec - perfect fit for us, outside ball player, we need it on our other wing. Clearly out of North and probs for nothing, term on his contract need to be negotiated though. Atkins - same as polec another meters gained player we need and coukd get for sweet FA, shoukd make a play Hogan - could we?? I think we should, what a win that woukd be if we traded him in for say harmes or hunt. T. Phillips - class player, number one target for me, coll have moved him fwd this year and given his spot on the wing away. His name was floated last yr in trade period I recon he is very gettable. Will cost a bit more then Polec or Atkins though. Will be a few cut with list restrictions and what not also, so key back up players will be important for coverage.
  10. Viney is not a fwd, they can both only play in the middle unfortunately. Viney has kicked goals yes. But that's as a midfielder, not as a fwd with someone who's job it is to stop you kicking goals. I hope I'm wrong but I dont think they can both co-exist in the same team. Perhaps viney/brayshaw + 2nd rounder for Polec + our original first rounder back?? And they pay part of his much inflated contract. Dreaming I know
  11. Did what we had to do. Next. Max needs a rest, but against who. Not Goldy
  12. Need a class ball user, Short, Houston, Whitfield, maybe a mills from Sydney. Recon we missed out on James aish last yr
  13. I use Tom Mitchell as an example. He wasn't even in Sydney's team. But teams knew he was a gun, they got pick 14 for him. What injury? He has shown what he can do, Jack Watts was worth exactly what we got for him. If he got picked up by Freo, NM, Saints, Adel, Carlton, or Syd. He is then top 2 mid. Ya gotta pay for that
  14. I doubt that very much, he would get snapped up traight away and clubs will pay for him! Freo would be hot on him i recon, yeh its Viney or Brayshaw, I think viney has stepped up this year, brayshaw could have but hast had the opportunity.
  15. Agree on our drafting, Jackson is going to be a great player yes, but we needed Hayden Young
  16. Hey Dees fans, First of all this isn't a smack brayshaw post. He has been my favourite player for a long time. But the fact of the matter is he is a gun bull midfielder and looks to be behind Viney, Trac and Oliver. Fair enough. Unfortunately Brayshaw struggles in any other position, he can be a top 20 mid if he plays there. If we aren't going to use him in the midfield he is too good to be a back up, we have Harmes, Vanders, Sparrow, salem and the like for that. Brayshaw will have alot of value and we need to be bold or we will go around in another 7 year loop and get no where, our back line is good, our midfield is good (inside), our fwd line needs the delivery to see if they are any good. The biggest thing we lack is class and polish. Could we be bold and try put a big deal including brayshaw and get a Whitfield(or someone of the like). We need ball users!
  17. O'Mac has to stay in, be done with Smith. Just locks down his man and allows Lever to be third man in. He is gonna do some things that fustrate but so do our mids.
  18. Out: Melksham, Lockhart and T'Mac* if injured In: Jones, A N-B, Brown*
  19. Melksham very lucky Tomlinson a bit unlucky. All in all im happy with the changes, woulda liked to see Jones in too
  20. David King is a [censored], doesnt do research and blurts his mouth without thinking. 2018 & 19 he tipped us for the flag, stating in the finals of 2018 "melb have no weakness". He then goes on to say no where in the world do other sports target defenders, Soccer have always done it with keepers and defenders. It hasn't worked thus far, at the time those trades were fine, we were going to lose Hogan and got something for him. There is an effort issue atm, it's like the players think all that fitness work in the pre-season is enough. They have done the hard work. Cue in the rack. Time to drop the guys not working hard enough, even if it is an Oliver, Gawn (obviously he is fine) or Lever. This season is a great opportunity now to refocus and build toward next yr. But its the last chance!!
  21. Get O'Mac in to lock down the number 1 fwd, bennel and Jones for some skill. Another tall fwd to ease T'Macs work load. And Melksham has to be out. Bedford's pace might be nice if he can squeeze in somehow I dont know how long we can have Oliver, Brayshaw, Petracca, Viney, Harmes, and vanders in our mids, all the same type player. Seasons end one or two may need to be traded. Viney and Petracca the most currency id say, with Petracca and Oliver being untouchable.
  22. In: Bennel, Jones, Weidemen Out: Melksham, Hunt, Smith
  23. B: Jetta May Hibberd HB: Salem O. Mac Lever ? Langdon Oliver Tomlinson HF: Melksham Fritsch Petracca Fwd: Pickett T. Mac Weideman Mid: Gawn Brayshaw Viney Harmes Hore Jones Lockhart (vanders if fit) I think O. Mac is needed for lever to be at his intercepting best. If the matchup isn't there then he misses out Hore goes in and then a Hunt or Baker comes into the 22 for speed.
  24. Poor AFL just got reminded they arn't above the law, by all accounts SA would have come to the party if the AFL discussed it with them. But being the arrogant organisation they are they just assumed it would work out the way they wanted. A good return to earth moment for the AFL, in a couple of weeks SA will let them have the exemptions, just making them sweat a bit. My opinion anyways
