Trade Rumours 2023
With us potentially loosing: Jordon, Grundy, Hibbard, D. Smith, Dunstan Potentially: Harmes, Brown*, Melksham, Tomlinson That's at least 5-6 list spots which is a lot, I'd expect us to grab a couple of delisted free agents somewhere. *I Expect Brown to stay contracted next yr but possibly as a AFLW coach. If his knee is rooted

Farewell James Jordon
Bummed to see him go. Great pick up for Sydney, they have the outside class and needed the big inside body to swap out with Parker. Anyone who says JJ isn't an inside mid hasn't watched VFL over the past 2 years. This is his best role and was never going to get a crack at it with Clarry, Viney, Trac and Brayshaw. Watch him for Fantasy next yr!

The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
not Keen on Bonner, but i think we are actually going to have a few list spots to fill and not all will be filled from the draft so possibly

I also like those three, Howes hasn't played any midfield though. Although i do expect Rivers to be more of a midfielder next year. i think we will have a top 6 midfielder from the draft which will help too

Hot Future Forwards
he has played everywhere, and had a lot of opportunities to grab a spot. I honestly think he is the perfect, he played some very good games in that position. He isn't going to play ofer Fritsch and if we do get another key forward in we can't play 2 talls, Fritta and Smith i hope he proves me wrong and becomes a solid forward for us but i can't see it and he when playing forward has been a player that gets in the road of others too.

Hows smiths career been? Weid kicked 3 in a final too. If he continues this form sure, but in his 6 years at the club he has shown he can't do that. He has shock factor and catches teams off guard, once they put some time into him he has shown he can't work through it. 42 games in 6 years is a pretty good indication of that. 6 of which he was sub. On the weekend he kicked three goals, kicked 2 and Kossie screwed one up for him before half time. After Halftime Carlt made a change and put someone on him, he had 1 more disposal for the rest of the game, a half of football and one disposal. Didn't touch it in the last quarter.

haha Dunstan* we lost Dunkley's brother years ago

Whilst we do need a key forward we also need to look at our midfield. We have lost Dunkley, and looks like we will probably lose Jordon and Harmes too, as well as Brayshaw's future pending. Whilst these arn't big losses individually(beside Brashaw if the worst happened) we have taken a hit in our depth in that area. Do we use our high pick and get a top end pick or get some solid cover from free agency? Lyons, Parfitt, Matheson, are options for pretty cheap and pure cover

Farewell James Jordon
Love this guy and spewing we will lose him. But he has to go for opportunities. He has the talent and if he gets to be the #1 contested player for a team he will go well, will be a good fit at Sydney. best of luck to him!

The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Teakle has been cut by port, Don't have to pay anything and can get him as a free agent now. We should 100% pick him up. He is only 23 and was ok when he played AFL, just as ruck back up for bottom $$$

Ruck roulette
Teakle has been cut by Port, Free swing at a guy for a packet of chips. has played the level and not completely useless. Worth it even if he never gets a game

T-Mac stays on just as depth and to help develop the new lot IMO. Petty will have to go fwd but i think his best position is a Key defender and when May retires i think that is where he will be. Smith unfortunately doesn't have the footy smarts, he has the athleticism but we have seen once he half cements his spot in the side and teams actually but some time into him he isn't good enough to work through it. Great Sub though! I think our Fwd for the future is: Fritsch, JVR, Kozzy ANB, Jefferson, Chandler, Bench - (Spargo) We also have Moniz-Wakefield in the reserves. The only think is Jefferson is still 18 months away from AFL standard, so we need something in the meantime to help out which could be where Petty comes in, and a big reason they are telling Tommo he is required (to allow Petty to play forward) We also have McAdam coming in which im not happy about but some more depth in that area. Bowie stays as a back for mine, i think we will see rivers move into the midfield next year which means Salem will get his role back which Rivers took over this year and Bowie is surprisingly good 1v1. If Rivers leaves the backline we need that class in Bowie back there.

Contracted Tomlinson Looks to Move On?
I hope we do keep him, his contract is only 1 more year so the $$ doesn't mean anything. and he is the perfect back up
-
Contracted Tomlinson Looks to Move On?
I think this is Melb playing hard ball with Adel, and saying that McAdam isn't enough for Tommo so a deal will need to be done separately. I think we will trade Tommo but we wont pay any of his contract which clubs will want us to do.
-
WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ADAM TOMLINSON
I doubt clubs would be willing to take on Tommo's contract which is over $500k. And if someone wants us to pay well we may as well hold him for the last year of his contract as he is great backup. I know this sounds tough but it's a business sometimes unfortunately.

POSTGAME: SF vs Carlton
that goes onto the players IMO, goal kicking was an issue, they dressed it and got really good mid year. Then it has dropped off again. That's a players mind set not coaching. I do agree we need a new forward coach though. but we need another dominant fwd that can take the game by the scruff of the neck or attracts attention to give our other fwds better looks.
