Yze would be wise to steer clear of the mess at Collingwood and Carlton. Neither role is right for him. Let Lyons and Clarkson take on those jobs. they have the experience and authority to re-shape those clubs. Yze doesn't. He'd be swimming in the shark pool. Plus who would have his back? Buckley had Maguire. He'll just end-up getting scapegoated and sacked and damaging his reputation.

I'd prefer he spent more time practicing his goal kicking. Sort out his technique. That missed set-shot dead in front was a momentum killer against the Giants

Our defense is rock solid and will provide the platform. We'll need to kick 12 goals to win. That's a tall order based on our output over the past 3 games. I don't know how to call this one. Defence will keep us in it but unless we sort out our woes in the forward line i don't believe we will win.

I think he would have been better off with some games in the VFL rather than going straight back into the first team His toughness and attack on the ball are his biggest asset and will be important for us come finals time

I didn’t intend to be glib All fair points We’ve been poor for 3 games now but we did beat the doggies and the Lions just prior to that. Our best is very good Too many of our players are out of form. We are flat and our ball movement is so stagnant and laboured. We need to inject some freshness and energy. Port game is now massive. Season defining. We’re going to find out whether this is a mid-season bad patch or something more terminal. The coaching team will earn their wages over the next few days.

Disappointing loss but, when you boil it all down, if we kick straight we win. TMac is the big worry for me. We badly need him to find his goal kicking mojo again. I love Trac but he has to slot that goal. Dusty wouldn’t have missed. Or Toby Greene. The Port game takes on huge significance now. Win and we put 2 games between us and them. Lose and we’re back in the pack fighting for Top 4. I’m still confident we can win over there. Our defence is so good it will keep us in the game but we must convert our chances. BB has to come into the side. His goal kicking is his key strength. And I wouldn’t be against bringing Melks back into the team either. Our delivery was ordinary yesterday and he would definitely improve us in this area. I’m very aware of his defensive deficiencies but we need to add some class and poise.
