Geelong not a team to fear. I'm chalking us down for the win in round 4.

    or Hipwood
  3. John Ralph reported just before the men's game started that the Lions women would fly down tomorrow. The women have been in a quasi bubble so are exempted from the isolation requirement.
  4. Goldrick a big loss but great to have Downie back to compensate. Hopefully she can regain sharpness quickly and be ready for finals.

St Kilda were gritty last week, hung in there and capitalised when GWS choked. That will give them confidence but make no mistake they were second best for most of the game and should have lost. It was an energy sapping slog as well and they have one less day to recover compared to us. Let’s not talk them up too much. This is a very winnable game. They have an impressive array of small forwards for sure but we nullified them last year without too much difficulty. We have them well and truly covered in the big man stakes, ruck and midfield. We will win the lions share of possession and as long as we do the basics well, our mids get on the same wavelength as Gawn, decent delivery into our forwards and straight kicking, we will win. Gawn, Viney, Trac and Fritsch to the fore. May/Tomlinson to keep Membrey/King quiet. Dees by 4 goals

    Very true

Great post. Plenty of time on your hands i guess. What’s the vibe like over there. I’ve family in Ireland who are very fed-up with lock-downs and restrictions. If you can’t be confident after a win then when can you be. Our midfield will win the lions share of possession tonight. Reasonable I50 delivery and straight kicking will see us home. Membrey is the danger man. I think he’s a job for Steven May. King is back this week for them but I reckon he’s under-done so perhaps Tomlinson can mind him. Go Dees

The timeframe for BB's return seems to creep up with each injury update. At the moment he's listed to return in dreaded 4-6 weeks bracket so he may not be match fit when we play them in round 9. The Weid is listed at 2-4 so he should be up and running. I reckon he’ll be vying with TMac for a spot in the team given LJ is ruck relief for Gawny. If TMac continues to play like he did against Freo he’ll be hard to dislodge.

Looked like it. Both his and gibbons goal should have been chalked off

Jones is a liability at the back for Carlton. BB will fill his boots when we play them.

Great tackle Adams. Reckon he'll get the 3 votes tonight.

Relax Macca. I’m not having a pop at you. Each to their own. That first half had a training drill vibe to it. You won’t see that in finals. Enjoy the rest of the game.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say. A little more pressure for mine. I’m glad you’re enjoying the game Macca.

Entertaining game to watch and I’m sure enjoyable for the players. Reminds me of an all-star game, ball zipping around the G, bruise free footy, good goal-kicking practice. Neither of these teams play finals this year.

If Jamie Elliot wasn’t so unfortunate with injuries he’d be talked about as one of the best small forwards. Great hands and reliable kick for goal. Hopefully the injury not too serious. He deserves some luck.

Not sure clayton would improve Carlton’s defensive pressure ?

The pies will beat Adelaide. They’re a much better team. Plus they risk dropping out of the Top 2 if they lose so they can rest on their laurels. agree Freo will beat North

True. Still, even without much pressure, we can't deliver like that

Collingwood forward 50 entries very good. Hitting the forward's chest everytime.

Just listened to the W show on the AFL website https://womens.afl/video/67897/the-w-show-bowers-v-prespakis-tackles-four-games-to-shape-finals Daisy talks about the Bowers tribunal decision. I’m going to give her the benefit of the doubt because she’s conflicted given it was her teammate that was on the wrong end of the tackle. Her comments about Bowers..would never want a fellow professional rubbed out…she’s a good competitor…good for her she’s available to play.. are very trite. I’m a big fan of Daisy and her analysis but this is not her best work. It’s as plain as day Bowers should have been banned. I hope in private Daisy thinks the same.

Are footballers coached in goal-kicking anymore?

She's a big loss to us. Hopefully Downie is fit in time for finals

Although he held his own at the weekend, so not suggesting he gets dropped, I reckon the injury sub could not have been introduced at a better time for Jones. He'll easily get to 300 games now.

Carlton Geelong home advantage enough No idea between Sydney and the Crows Port easily Gold Coast without too much fuss Tigers by plenty Doggies too strong for the Eagles GWS will out-muscle an under-manned Freo

I’ve no axe to grind with Gus but for mine he was the obvious inside mid to offer up for trade last year. Viney has his flaws but he's been a good leader over the journey. Unless a player is naturally versatile then trying to convert them rarely works. Gus is an inside mid. Just play him there or else cut him loose. I reckon their trade value was similar. If we had swapped out Brayshaw and brought in Phillips we would be well ahead imv. Missed opportunity.
