  1. For me this season it won't be about the numbers in the W and L colums, it will be about our efforts on the park for extended periods of time. Too often last season we would 1 or 2 quarters of good high pressure footy and then say, thats our job done for today. Another area i will be looking for improvement in will be the skills, especially by foot!!
  2. no surprises there.... why is it we can't keep 2 of our most important players (whelan and rivers) on the field for long periods of time??? Very very frustrating
  3. this is a big call considering you are not backing it up with any sources or facts. I hope for not only the clubs sake but also yours that this is true or you may really regret this with the back lash that would come your way
  4. My two cents on this one, no facts just gut feel is the bushfire could not have come a worse time for us and our efforts to get a major sponsor. It seems every person and business is putting all their efforts to get these country towns back up and running and any spare cash they have to throw around has gone into the appeal. Very worrying times for the MFC at the moment. A win in round 1 of the NAB cup would be a great help and i believe we must fill our strongest team next week to get that result
  5. for all of you who are interested, supercoach has been launched for the 2009 season. get in quick because there is only 51 days until the next lock out :D
  6. Juice - 50 goal season Bate - Consistancy Watts - To debut in 09 CJ - To do his knee in round 1
  7. Time to move on YM, his our man that they picked ahead of NikNat and i think for good reason. just give Watts 3 years and you will be well and truly converted
  8. Apparantly both from freak accidents, so im not concerned about them. Grab him for sure at 17
  9. I did not like the look of the kid in that youtube footage, everytime he kicked the ball it was a turnover. He did look like a hard at it player but we need some skill through our midfield. No thanks, pass on him
  10. We have a forward option..............BUT he is 2 to 3 years away from being a consistant reliable forward. His name is JACK WATTS
  11. im surprised no one has mentiooned this already, but what about Farmers shocking first half against the Pies and then to come out and kick 9 in the second half....i guess that game really sumed up his career
  12. I have one favourite memory from that game, and it was when the G train tried to run around Carroll (sorry i had to bring his name up) on the mark and Carroll just stood there and tackled him to the ground and the G train got injured and was ineffective for the rest of the night
  13. Nathan Buckley or Scott West.....im spewing that Robert Harvey go snapped up so quickly, i would have loved him to teach our young guys gut running, and where to be and when
  14. I think the funny part of all this is that Williams has gone to the doggies to be the forward line coach I thought in the final against the cats that was the area that let them down and then they have gone and hired a former midfielder
  15. a/ Where is Aaron Davey's best position? b/ How are the injured guys coming along? Robbo, Brock, Rivers..... c/ Who is going to play the No 1 ruck role next season? d/ Is this season Sylvia's last chance? Thats what i have asked to be asked
  16. Greg Bentley has been delisted by the Power. Is he the one we take with our pick in the PSD? Still young so he fits the age criteria and bailey would know him pretty well with his time at Power. I think he would be worth the gamble. Thoughts?
  17. I would also like to not have to play the cats at bloody skilled stadium, im sick of us going down there and getting flogged every year, apart from last year where it was one of our best games that we did not win.
  18. A player who nominates for the PSD can put a price tag on his head, and its reported that he is going to put $600,000 per year, and ROK knows that there are only are few clubs who can afford that, and that is how he can get to the club of his choice
  19. No there is a snow flakes chance in hell that Moloney, Dunn or Whelan will be delisted/asked to retire. Before injury Moloney was playing his best football he has for this club, Dunn was asked to do a job he had never done before by the coach, and although he got touched up a few times he certainly advanced in the role, and as for Whelan he is our general down back and although he is on the older side for and AFL player he is still vital for our teams make up and balance
  20. I think you are spot on M4B. Green now has no chance of being the full time captain of MFC, Bruce will have for next season and possibly the next and then it will Brocks time to shine as the captain
  21. Another very ordinary draft week for the MFC...i am so dissapointed in the club. I realise we wanted to keep our high drat picks but surely there was something out there that could have helped improve the MFC
  22. I must admit i was looking forward to a final night review and assessment from nudge. I like the stuff he writes/types
