  1. I think he has been very impressive, and absolutely he is part of the future. He will turn into the defensive small backman which will release Bennell to be the offensive small defender, so in other words will take Whelans position
  2. A gym with a decent instructor to help each player put on 5kgs of muscle
  3. the sooner the AFL get rid of this bloody priority pick the better. i am so sick of all this negative talk, for professional associations to be promoting losing is terrible. i understand why we should loose this game but i also am sick of seeing "honorable losses" Winning is a culture thing and an art you learn for the close games, and at the moment we would have no idea how to win games and i think it puts us back another season behind the rest of the league
  4. You are dropping 3 defenders for 1, 2 mids, and a lazy forward, who is going to play back this week? There is no way we can afford to drop Rivers this week. Brisbane have 2 of the biggest forwards in the league and third defender will be a vital role this week.
  5. IN - Warnock, Jones, Marric, Dunn OUT - Jetta, Bartram, Robbo, Whelan Warnock back to take one of the gorillas. Dunn and Bartram swap while Robbo is done, and i will say the disposal going forward is not helping him but its time to step aside and let the kids get used to being the focal points. A forward line looking like this Bate Miller Marric Watts Jurrah Sylvia Warnock to take Bradshaw and Rivers and Frawley double teaming Brown.
  6. I actually think his progress has gone past Watts. His awareness is better, his disposal is better, his speed is better, he is a better mark. It is very exciting to think what this guy might be in 3 years
  7. What does this guy say or not say at half time? Our third quarters are bloody awful!!
  8. I believe the signing of Worsfold to a contract extension is bad news for Melbourne. This lets Worsfold field a team he knows is not good enough to win games but does not put his position in question, thus the eagles can make a real "run" for the priority pick. <_< It looks more likely that Melbourne will end up with picks 1 and 3, which i think puts us in a better position for Trengrove at pick 3 as i think the Eagles will take Butcher at 2
  9. Yeah i agree JA. At first i was on the Butcher wagon, but i have jumped ship and im now on the Trengrove wagon. A goal kicking midfielder

And a tour of Junction Oval
  11. As bad as the team is going at the moment, how exciting are the next 11 weeks going to be watching our future running around. Watts, Jurrah, Cheney, Bennell, Jetta, Martin
  12. His article might be a better one, but he needs to read a fixture before putting his article to print. His first line says "big business is happening at the MCG tomorrow night"

WHY are people saying trade PJ??? Jamar is injury prone and Spencer is not up to it yet!! It is the most ridiculous thought expressed on this forum this year

I agree with the retirements. There is no way we will trade Rivers, with the retirement of Wheels that young back line will need a wise, mature head, and he will be it. Can't see us getting much for Wheats, retirement. Not sure who the people are saying delist PJ, but they must all see something in Spencer that i have not seen yet, sure he is a big boy, aggressive, but is a long way off holding down a spot on a AFL team, and Newton is still contracted for next season, so the only way we could get rid of him is via a trade. Valenti will be kept, not a great draft coming up and a handy back up for a big injury list
  15. numbers 31 and 21 will be available by the time next season comes around, and i also think 45,23,24 will all be available so there will be plenty of number swapping next season
  16. could not have put it better myself, i fully agree with all you have said here roost it
  17. i agree with this quote but i think the best way for the afl to head is a lottery. it needs to work along the lines of the more wins you get the more balls you get in the lottery or it will still invite tanking if its the opposite way. Another question is when the league gets to 18 teams will it remain top 8 and one comp, or will it go to a 2 conference set up, and then the 2 winners of each conference play of for the GF
  18. Ive heard rumblings that Tom McNamara is suppose to have great leadership qualities, what about him for captain in 2010 and beyond???
  19. They were horrible tonight and are clearly playing to secure a priority pick, and for those people that wanted the MFC to draft Tom Swift should be very glad they are not part of the MFC drafting team, he is slow with no awareness and a poor user of the ball
  20. Give them some time mate. They have both played one game and already you are saying we might have made the wrong decision. For the next 10 - 12 years these 2 and a couple of others from this draft will be compared, so lets just wait until they have both played 100 games
