  1. is still too lazy and not imposing enough for me, it will be interesting to see what happens with him when Watts plays next season
  2. for once i actually agree with YM
  3. by the sounds of it all of the above
  4. can someone delete this topic. give the guy a go, he has a very young list and already we can see huge improvement in our backline, lots of potential in the mids and a forward line that if we recruit well will be damaging in a few years.
  5. very tough on Rivers there bjgc...the bloke has been out of footy for 2 years and is really starting to find his feet again. The game has changed a lot in his time on the sidelines with the speed of it, and not to mention a completely different looking backline since he went down, so he will need time to get used to how they play also
  6. your joking aren't you??? our decision making is pathetic though, the number of times we kick or handball to a guy standing still or is surrounded by 3 opposition players is driving me nuts
  7. At the moment the "poor kid" is Petterd. Its no wonder we have the fewest shots on goal when we are playing him as a key position
  8. make sure you pack your bullet proof vest
  9. and no Justin Westoff either....another 3 goal a game player. So this means that Power will be relying on tredrea for goals and i feel confident Warnock can do a job on him
  10. I think he will get left behind by the arrival of Watts and the soon to be arrival of Butcher. Can't mark over his head, can't mark out on a lead with his hands out, every attempt is a chest mark and it marks it far too easy for defenders, and his kicking at goal is not up to scratch either, especially set shots
  11. it makes for interesting discussion, and i think a way of being able to better look at it is if you put a potential team on paper, and heres mine Warnock Garland Cheney Rivers Martin Petterd Strauss Moloney Morton Davey Watts Green Wona Butcher Maric Spencer McLean Jones Int from Blease, Bruce, Jetta, Sylvia, Bartram and the list goes on It looks a good team for 3 years time
  12. i think its too early for a thread like this, but since it has been started we have to get Butcher. Imagine a forward line in 2 -3 years of Watts, Butcher, Wonna, Bate, Jetta and one of Davey, Marric. The other pick i think we need to target a ruckman
  13. it would explain his disposal by foot last week!!!!
  14. i have a nasty feeling about this one, i feel he will follow his dad where ever he will be, presumably at the crows and say no thanks to the dees
  15. INS - Martin, Wonna, Sylvia OUT - Bennell, Miller, Buckley Martin to play FF, Sylvia beside him, Wonna and Jetta with Bate make up the rest of the forward line. Put Davey in the midfield for some much needed pace through there rotating him with either Jetta or Wonna for a rest. Leave the backline, our strongest area by a mile. The midfield were ok today, just far too one paced for me
  16. could not agree more!!!!! it was driving me nuts today watching a player lead up to the ball only to have it kicked straight over his head
  17. Its a funny one this trade, Trav was a dee favourite but we did end up with pick 14 for him, which i sore as a massive win for us. We used it by picking up Jack Grimes and he has had nothing but injury problems since arriving at the club. If jack can come good and injury free i will be very happy, but to see Trav racking up numbers like that hurts, as its something he never did in the red and blue
  18. this is where we miss Whelan, but saying that i think we have a very good fill in for him in Cheney. I like the look of this guy
  19. gee...somebody has too much time on their hands <_<
  20. I was not at the game but all the reports coming in it sounds like the same old Melbourne with our disposal and decision making, which makes me very concerned being less than 2 weeks out from round 1. I know the conditions were not great on the Saturday but if our disposal does not improve we will continue to cop floggings off the top teams
  21. I wouldn't think he is in the mix for round 1, and the thinking is this game would be for fine tuning heading into round 1 and for the players who are in the mix to show the coach one last time they deserve a spot come round 1
  22. Im expecting to see an exciting brand of footy, attacking, risk taking and strong tackling. To see the younger guys really develop and take the next step with the older heads just being guides for them in the heat of the battle. I also think there could be 4 - 6 debutants this season, which will really be putting the heat on the older guys for games next season
