  1. Mitch Cleary reckons we're still in front on this one if he does decide to leave
  2. Mr "how to say a lot without saying anything at all"
  3. If thats indeed the case I really hope we're stepping up our search for a small forward elsewhere, i.e. Butler or Gray
  4. Oh god. Surely Hore and Petty are in front of OMaC for a defensive spot. The whole reason why I reckon we’re allowing Frost to go is bc those two have come on so well. Do we really need to get that tall against most teams? Besides his terrible ability 1 on 1, omac cant intercept mark, is slow when it hits the ground, and is a rubbish kick.
  5. This whole media obsession with Clarko is borderline repulsive. By the some way people speak about him you’d think he was captain, coach, list manager, physio, CEO and running the social media accounts
  6. Will be an absolute gun defender and one that I think can really add to the leadership group. From that article in The Age this year it seemed like he was in a pretty rough spot but expect him to bounce back big time next year.
  7. Bedford was pick 60 odd and has the same weight as a stick, and hence will be given time to develop. I would have thought steven may and nev jetta are pretty hand indigenous recruits. Just because they dont have the flash of a rioli or liam ryan type doesnt mean they arent as important Stack and Pickett are both enigmas and a punt that took off for Richmond that suit where they’re culturally at as a club. The sad reality is that I doubt either of those would really thrive at the Dees. Anyways, I’d be backing our recruiting staff to be looking at the best possible players to fill our needs regardless of their background
  8. He’s an absolute clown , also said Richmond were worse than last year ?
  9. Apologies got that one well wrong . Though the Eagles took him low 20s tgat year
  10. Fair enough. The one problem I have deaing with Freo here is that Tim Kelly appears like he’d rather retire than end up at the Dockers
  11. Doubt we’d get 26 back. As good as pick 3 is, Freo paid a top 10 for Cerra, and Langdon will be worth that 20-30 range. 3 for Cerra and Langdon is an interesting prospect.
  12. Dees were into him big time during his draft year, just didnt make it to us unfortunately. Agree that the lack of Rioli will make it hard, but I think Geelong would be chuffed getting pick 3 back for Kelly.
  13. Stephen Wells came out yesterday and categorically said that he'd be staying at Geelong. Would likely find more opportunities with Tim Kelly leaving
  14. Gaff and Petrucelle for pick 3 I would do in a heartbeat
  15. Hawks fans genuinely believig he’ll be a decent replacement for Frawley. Good luck to them, hope they have some decent heart medication
  16. Will get done no matter what. He’s keen to get to us which puts us on the front foot. Agree that we cant afford to get too cute with it though
  17. Could have so easily left, but stuck fat with us when we were at out lowest ebb and has played an enormous role in leading us (somewhat) out of obscurity. Think he has at least a few more years left in him and will be better off without the burden of captaincy. A great clubman who we are forever endebted to for leading our rabble for many years. Onto the era of Maxy.
  18. Completely fair, we always seem to be behind the 8-ball with the little things. It has never been a fair competition and never will be. The rich get richer and all of that and its no surprise the bigger clubs have all been climbed the mountain over the last 20 years with all the money and support they can throw into the footy department
  19. Agree. If Collingwood or Collingwood were hypothetically in our position, Eddie and Kennett would have already held a presser by now blasting the AFL if not would have held this up as long as they could. Unfortunately nothings going to change and the AFL will continue to be as corrupt as ever. Club will have to move on and quickly as you can only play with the cards you’re dealt, no matter how unfair.
  20. All interesting propositions, however I still don’t think splitting pick 3 into 2 makes a whole lot of sense this year. If we could turn it into a few 1st round picks next year when a few more players may come onto the market then it could be a decent idea however will come under enormous scrutiny especially if it goes up in smoke. But in reality those picks this year dont look like being valuable trade currency as there doesnt appear to be many of any worth shopping around that would suit our needs. If anything, splitting pick 3 allows other clubs to bully and hold us to ransom over players that shouldnt be worth that much. Freo especially would see a middle of the range 1st round pick as “value” for Langdon. Or if we were looking at a bigger fish, clubs would be demanding both. Regardless of todays news, pick 3 is still no slouch and would seem difficult to stuff up.
  21. Believe we have Alice Springs not Darwin. Think that zone belongs to either Hawks or Dons. EDIT: Darwin part of our shared zone with a few other clubs - somewhat shafted I guess
  22. If he’s a RFA then depending on what the Blues pay him they’d probably get around the second round mark I’d say. On another note though, free agency compensation could mean our now pick 22 could get further bumped down to around 24-25
  23. Only Gil and all of Gold Coasts 5 supporters would be happy with this. In all seriousness, what does giving Gold coast this enormous leg up do except further f up the rest of support within the competition. With Brisbane now succeeding there is only 1 team in Queensland who anyone would want to support in a state that couldnt give less of a toss about AFL. Cannot believe more of this years bottom clubs didnt kick up a bigger stink about this, seems ridiculous
