  1. Too expensive on the books for mine. Langdon will do us well at a lesser expense
  2. Nixon reckons he was down at the Pies for a tour late last week
  3. Completely agree with all of that. Looks like a fall back plan if we cant do any better. I hope we're really into Gunston as part of the Frost deal, could get at least 3 solid years out of him.
  4. I get that, and am all for getting him. However all this screams way too good to be true about his supposed wage. The fact that no one has even remotely had a nibble at him leads me to believe theres a lot more to this than meets the eye
  5. Why has he yet to be linked to anyone of note then? By the sounds of that nearly every club should be falling over each other to get him. This assumption that his contract will cost a packet of Twisties ($200k a year as I recall Jon Ralph claiming) is ludicrous. The Crows arent going to fork out hundreds of thousands per year just to have him on another team's books.
  6. I like this. Pick 3 for 6 and someone like Zac-Langdon I wouldnt mind at all. Really just hinges on how the Giants view their chances of getting Tom Green with just pick 6 now
  7. Gunston then? Would satisfy not being a battler thats for sure.
  8. My best guess is either Tim O'Brien or Gunston. Jon Patton comes in so they will definitely be moving on a key forward and I assume are moving some $$ away to make a run in at Whitfield or Cameron next year. Nothing has been said about Frost's move to the Hawks since it was first reported, and I reckon us trying to grab one of those two might be the sticking point between that deal getting done.
  9. Tom Browne on trade desk last night gave it a 5% chance of happening. Not that his view is the be all and end all to this, but I highly doubt we are in a position to change his mind. The only way I see this working is the Saints and Dogs cant work out a trade and we can come in and offer better picks to the Saints and force a situation where Bruce basically has to pick us to move on from Moorabin
  10. As much as it pains me to say it, I really respect how theyve gone about it. Were bold with their list moves when many doubted them, and are now attracting some decent talent. Sacking Bolton was the best thing they ever did because god knows how much of a rabble they’d be if they were stuck on 1 win at the end of the season. They’ll be a quality side moving forward that’s for sure
  11. I cant see us offering much better. Unless we offer this years or next years 2nd (one of which is going for Langdon) then I don’t see him going to us
  12. I thought he’d agreed to the Dogs on personal terms, was just a matter of the clubs putting a suitable trade together. Unless we pull a Sydney-Lockett style rug pulling why would he have reason to change his mind. Dogs would surely have more $$ than us to offer
  13. Was experimented across the ground towards the end of the season, but is definitely a small forward prospect like he showed in 2018. Injury also interrupted his season. Too many on here are way too keen to sink their teeth into a kid who is barely 20 and calling to turf him. Should be at least be given a year or two more to develop and work out how best to compete at AFL level with his size. Was played a lot more through the midfield as a junior and racked up massive numbers, so unsurprising that he's still finding his feet in a different role.
  14. Doubtful. Every club has to pay 95% of max cap space. Players they’re offloading in Newnes and Acres would be on silly amounts of dollars methinks
  15. I think we’re still in the frame for Butler. I cant see how the blues land him amongst papley, martin and betts. Nor can I see him squeezing in at the Saints now with Howard, Jones, Ryder and Hill all committed to them. Unless the Saints shed some players, he’s ripe for the picking That being said, Gray isnt a bad option either and there hasnt been a whole lot of interest lately over him. I’d be approaching Butler over Gray imo
  16. Last roll of the dice for them to show some improvement and push for finals. Have been rubbish for the better part of the last 8 or so years. Has got to be $$$
  17. I'm holding onto 3 unless we can split it into at least 1 selection in the top 10 and one just outside. The whole point of splitting it was to use those picks for trading in ready-made talent, however its looking like there's relatively little of that available at the moment that would even warrant using those picks. Regardless, I'd like to think we can back ourselves to use pick 3 on an absolute gun rather than some players in that 12-18 range that might be good. I know we've f'd up previously with some of them, but given our last few ones with Oliver, Salem, Trac, these guys look like they know what they're doing.
  18. He was referring to Dan Butler on that bit
  19. Well thats probably the biggest concern I’d have with it then. However unsurprising that North are paying seriously overs to meet the salary minimum. I think he players taller than he actually is and have seen him pants a few quality defenders. I see your point, we definitely need that serious A-grade ke forward option, but they dont grow on trees and certainly arent coming to a club thats finishing 17th.
  20. Big no. Still get a good laugh out of remembering him hitting the post from 5m out against us in the Elimination Final. Absolute spud
  21. Wood's manager has come out and said that the club was open to trading him earlier in the year. Has consistently gone around 1.5 goals a game, whilst obviously the biggest knock is his durability, for where we are at the moment it seems like a low risk high reward move. Has been playing more games each year than the last so could be a sign he's got himself right.Could be worth around our 3rd round pick - currently 42 which is coincidentally what he was drafted for, or if North drive a harder bargain, give them what we get in return for Frost. We're really lacking in key forward depth if one or both of Tmac and Weid go down injured again this season. How are we ever going to keep a season afloat if Tmac goes down and we have Petty + Weid as the 2 key forwards. Even still adding another key forward not even as backup wouldnt be the worst thing in the world. Last year with Hogan, T Smith and Weid in the forward line we looked ominous and really straightened out our entries into forward 50.
  22. Did alright in the preseason games and was left in the 2s for the first few rounds if I recall correctly, leaving nearly everyone puzzled and speculating on his future at the club
  23. Its ridiculous. How about Morris mention he recently signed a 4 year contract extension that sees him at the club until 2022. If thats not comittment and satisfaction with the club then I don’t know what is. You don’t sign something that big knowing you’re going to leave at the end of the season as many “journos” have been speculating. I think even Freo know that their list is pretty cooked and are way off a premiership by axing their coach and offloading Hill + Langdon. They’ll take the picks they have to the draft to reset and afford Longmuir some breathing space while they develop. Giving up picks for Brayshaw right now just wouldnt make sense from their point of view. Maybe we’ll be hearing about this again in a few years when he’s nearing the end of his contract but I can guarentee Gus will be here to stay.
  24. I don’t think any journo understands that players dont just get traded against their will. Just like Jeremy Cameron is right now, Brayshaw looks content at his club and the only thing driving these rumours are founded in having some of his family at Freo. Anything to keep the radio waves busy I guess
