  1. Has consistently gone around 70% disposal efficiency, but I’ve seen him make some Frost level mistakes with ball in hand so not convinced. If we manage to get in Langdon im not sure we need another winger, otherwise I’d be looking at Karl Amon. I’m hoping we get KK up and going and stick him out on a wing, was an elite ball user back in 2015 where he was runner up in the suns bnf.
  2. Trade or Delist: T Smith (too inconsistent with injuries), J wagner (list clogger - Hore in front of him), JKH (vfl standard at best), ANB (so innacurate at goal and goes at 65% efficiency...), Omac (basically a glorified witches hat + Petty much better and versatile) Retired: Lewis, Maynard Already Delisted: Kielty, Garlett cant see why anyone would want to delist Vanders, is one of the few with some fight in him when up and fit and to no fault of his own was ruined by the 4-6 week Misson curse this year... I reckon we’ll have about 8-10 spots on the list to fill during the offseason Trade In (in order of priority): Brad Hill, Ed Langdon, Sam Gray, Dan Butler, Karl Amon, Jack Newnes Minimum should be Langdon, one of Gray or Butler and one of Amon or Newnes Draft: With those targets I reckon we’ll be able to pay mostly with 2nd - 3rd round picks from this and next years drafts and possibly use a 1st (depending on if we can broker a split of our pick 3) Look for class ball users in any positions with athleticism and speed as well as small forwards with good finishing (i’m yet to get up to speed with the draftees this year apart from the top 5 or so). Whilst its all well and good to speculate that bringing in certain players and delisting will fix all of our issues, the successful clubs of the last decade or so have built been built on winning attitudes and hard work. still a long way to go to get back on track...
  3. Seriously underrated call. All it adds is extra cash which is great, but given we usually play West Coast, Adelaide or Freo who all have enormous support from the NT it just does not benefit us one bit. Would be happy if it was just cut to 1 game a year if not not zero
  4. What changes would you make across the club if you were in charge of every decision during the offseason? Delistings, trades, leadership changes, coaching staff etc... Personally I'd start with leadership - havent seen anything from either co-captains since the Semi-Final last year and both need to be stood down. Replace them with Max as the sole captain with Melksham as vice. Delist or trade list cloggers who add absolutely zero to the team - Oscar, ANB, JKH, Stretch. I've loved Jones ever since he started, but jee he adds nothing to the team at all(1 tackle in 3 weeks) and would struggle getting a game next year and sadly I think it could be time. I'd honestly offer Lewis a contract before Jones at the moment. Quality outside run is one of many problems but probably top of the list in terms of trade targets, plus a more experienced key forward to help Tmac. Need to find some competent assistant coaches with quality experience - Voss, Richardson etc. so that when Goodwin is inevitably sacked we have them in the bag.
  5. Extremely hard to see that given some of the team selections in recent weeks, and thats fact.
  6. You really have faith in those “experienced football personel”? Look where thats seemingly got us over the last 15 years
  7. If we’re hanging our club’s future on an 18 year old kid saving our midfield structure we may as well go back to the days of Dean Bailey throwing Jack Watts under an enormous bus
  8. Our midfields problem is balance around stoppages - something that is so easily coachable I have no idea why it has been so consistently poor, and work rate - these guys cant run both ways, they’re just unfit and unmotivated (can’t blame them). Looks like I’m one of the few who actually rates Viney. Hasnt had 2-3 seasons without being on/off wtih injuries but has slowly been finding plenty of footy, lays tackles and has that powerful speed to get the ball out of stoppages. Needs to drop the captaincy, will greatly benefit his game. Ideally I’d have him and clayton rotating with a Vandenberg/Petracca type as the stoppage ball-winners with someone like Harmes hanging outside to distribute.
  9. Absolutely not. Ross is way past it, whole gameplan was built on flooding defense which just isnt possible anymore with the rulechanges. I’d say Goodwin needs to get inventive with a new style but I genuinely havent seen anything this year to suggest he has one in the first place.
  10. Melksham saying on radio that tonight is probably his lowest moment in footy -considering he’s been suspended for an entire year speaks volumes about how pathetic we are
  11. I’m with ya. There were too many times tonight to even list where things just looked off amongst the players and has to be down to leadership. Max as sole captain has to be the starting point - who wouldnt want to play for that bloke, he’s all heart. Make Melksham vice captain, genuine goer week in week out.
  12. Goodwin would do a better job of selling Springfield a monorail, absolute conman.
  13. Ive never seen so many players that disinterested in playing a game of footy in my life. Period. Not that I can blame them, Goodwin looks as if he hasnt had a clue since the qualifying final last year...
  14. Frost shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as Petty and Oscar, as a defender he's 10 Flemington straights in front of those two...
  15. With Jack Martin and Peter Wright out of favour at the Suns I reckon we could make a run at those two. Wright is a goal a game player in a team that barely gets the ball in their forward half and is a dominant marking presence that could take some of the heat of McDonald. Martin seems a bit hit and miss but shows some brilliance and could be a decent wing/forward option. What they're worth together? I genuinely have no idea, but maybe next years 1st round could get that done if we reckon we're not a steaming pile of garbage then. Would definitely go for Ed Langdon, adds that extra pace and bobs up and kicks goals - not the greatest field kick but works both ways extremely hard. Definitely a 2nd rounder for him, and if Brad Hill wants to come to us as well - take both of them for a 1st. While we're at it delist/trade the absolute deadwood to clear space - oscar mac, ANB, wagners. It seems like I'm one of the few, but I'd take a punt on Harley Bennell. Offer him a 1 year deal paying him a packet of chips and see if he can get himself right. Downside is minimal if he doesnt get on the park, potential upside is enormous.
  16. Very misunderstood rule. From a piece on afl.com.au last year, Melbourne "can do as they wish with their first-round pick in the 2019 AFL trade period, including offloading a future one, because they have used at least two in the preceding four year period". I personally reckon that if the Suns receive a priority pick that bumps us to no. 3, we should just shouldn't bother with the draft, Anderson looks the only kid that would really satisfy our need for a skilful outside runner and we can probably find that with our range of picks.
  17. Hope the powers that be make it happen, he would be a very handy assistant or development coach. Have also heard some rumblings that we're interested in bringing James Hird to the club in some sort of role?
  18. Word is they still have plenty to of salary to cut, but imagine that will come with impending retirement of the likes of Heath Shaw and Deledio. Wouldn't at least hurt to ask the question, would imagine a 2nd round pick would get that done.
  19. Should we be looking at someone like Jeremy Finnlayson from GWS? Would provide decent support for Tmac and has proved an accurate kick for goal. Was nearly traded last year and am sure the Giants would want to keep him after this year’s form, but surely we’re in a position to offer more than they can afford?
  20. I think everyone’s too quick to start discarding Gus as part of trades. Has had a bad year no doubt, but been played out of position all year long and in a system that just doesnt work.
  21. If we could delist Omac right now I would, needs to be put in the bin forever. Both Wagners are dead weight and not showing anything. ANB is just not up to standard, not sure what he even offers bar being 1 of 22 players required to fill a team. Not sure why we are persisting with Tim Smith. He’s 28, injury prone and very hit and miss. As far as ins are concerned, May, Hore and Melksham need to be brought back if fit. I’d be willing to give JKH and Preuss one more go after decent vfl numbers. Weideman needs another go in the 2s after his calf and concussion otherwise I’d play him over Smith. If not JKH then Dunkley up forward. Out: Omac, J Wagner, C Wagner, ANB, Tim Smith In: May, Melksham, Hore, Preuss, JKH
