That’s a great post Deb. Probably your most positive one yet. You are becoming the most negative poster on D/L. Always looking at the negative side of any thing the AFL and sometimes very often the Dees as well. Dare you to change at least now until the season starts!!

THREE strikes Picket and he’s out. Well summarised. Seriously the whole world knows we are dysfunctional UP FORWARD and Marty was notsuitable in our team in 2021 and previously so why waste a rookie spot on a 28 year old. Seems as though he would be a replacement for Kye Turner on our list. Of all possible positions for rookies we don’t need half back flankers. He would be a poor man’s replacement for Hibbo also. FGS get Disco into the Seniors (AFL) and get games into him and stop dreaming up ways to stall his career. If I was Disco reading this …. I would ask for an open clearance to the Crows pronto to further my career. (And we would still ask for Fogarty or Tilthorpe or Walker in return. ) just to annoy them like we were peskily chastened by their Peter Bell like trash talk.

It’s not the Club song being sung that is at fault. A weird response really. We all agree on the problems of the forward line of poor connection and some very unprofessional kicking for goal. If we solve these it will be great to hear the Club song every week and watch a better game plan as a result.

I hope he doesn’t . Should trade up for him even if can.

Some teams will study this though and break it down with ability and tactics. It’s still got a lot of luck involved ie our bad kicking in both games affected the result margin and the result. And in the Semi vs Blues it was clear that we hadn’t trained ( or not much or not capable of) carrying out a plan when behind and trying to win in a short period.

I am talking a permanent change like that. Yes I was mindful of the grey but didn’t mention it, thanks for highlighting it KDF.

That’s what we have Disco Turner and Jed Adams for is a succession plan. If only they would play Disco and get games into him. Jef is more a next season chance if he builds up and his first season although injury affected in a reduced pre season was a promising start. However Curtin would be a bonus at 6 if we could snag him but O’Connor has some good reports and not without his admirers. Pick 11 would be a great choice although I like Caleb Windsor for his outside run and carry plus goals from the play he creates. Should be 2 good recruits or one great one!

No that’s not the case Either Windsor or O’Sullivan are good for us. But if we can go some spots higher our first pick is a better option but would rule it a second high draft pick no doubt.

Well that confirms that the AFL have flicked the finals scheduling for a few surprising reasons but not as a result of the RDB funeral earlier in the day. Horses mouth in play here . Means the GF should be a day event if in Melbourne or Brisbane or Adelaide on a Sat 1st or Sunday 2nd. But by then they could dream up a clash with WBBL or any other event like Sports Car racing at Manangatang on 7 if it’s sport!! Phew that rules out a Big Bash clash as it doesn’t commence until the 5th December I believe. Over to you AFLW or AFL whoever has more say!!.

Players develop with weight programs. Don’t be so naive most 18yo recruits start out needing physical development. They are not all freaks like Clarry.

Regrettably and respectfully no voted for the last round. While I am sure the girls all tried their form was the worst game for about 3 years. . In fact I went away wondering if our last few games since the North excellent win have really been on the mark for the coming Finals. However the girls have been remarkable for about 3 years and class is permanent form not so sometimes. I expect a totally motivated effort of desperation and class again on Sunday and hope that’s good enough. Perhaps I also have the feeling North are about to break their jinx and take the flag beating all three of the top3 others in a boil over. Their firm is top class and only failed vs us a few weeks ago. Go Dees.

AFL really have nothing to do with that unless you feel it is a respect issue for the Club. That could have featured another game if they wanted to. State Govt and the Barassi family organised the date arrangements for the Memorial service on Friday.

See that you are a newish D/L poster perhaps we want Curtain but don’t think he is worth pick 6 ( sorry Pick7) as he wouldn’t be available anyway as WC would have selected him ahead of us!! So MCW you want us to change our guernsey colours because a few people are colour blind. If the world gif that some country flags and other pageantry would all be altered. Traditional colours are gitbiur home games and if the odd person is ignorant they are the lesser. Do you think Essendon would ever contemplate changing their original sash colours to grey if the were mistaken for ours? Never and we should be the same and uphold our Club. Main thing is you have a dark (navy) blue and red flag and banner to worry about. The Club gets it right and our fans know it’s authentic. BTW I adore our clash colours and reckon they are great in as a second jumper. Please don’t ever get that putrid white clash one again.

Most Dees fans will always remember BBB as one if our best recruits in 2021 even if he never plays another AFL game. His part in 2021 was tactically and structurally so valuable in our forward makeup. His height far too tall for the Dogs defence and as he marks with his hands tall at the top of his leap he was unbeatable that day. At the game and on the replay his 3 goals one on the second third and fourth quarters were all classical high marks and confidence boosters to all our forwards. While it’s frustrating he had had multiple mainly knee injuries since no one could have predicted that. And he is a coach in the making if he wishes to go down that path. I hope he can get back to full health so to with Tmac another great Clubman and either get games in AFL again or help our young forwards along and keep the pressure on them. Let’s not cast them aside let’s half glass full for 2024 for all our list of 44 or is it now 42?

Brody might have been fit but do we know it he was willing? Schache only needed to take a mark near goal really or shepherd Clarry’s kick through!
