  1. Or his special place in Our history, and indeed in the AFL folklore.
  2. Just shows if you have good or very good or special footballers in most positions you win the flag. Especially when they play together ruthlessly as a team!
  3. Ironically without it we may have not got the chance so don't keep harping about it.
  4. You don't lose your right to make a call whether you have chosen correctly previously or not. if that was the status quo very few decisions may be resultant in life.
  5. Congrats Andy and all the other 4 draftees. All look to have exciting skills offering different ones to add to our required hardness determination and team ethics. Terrific base for our Coaches to develop. Tall swing man defender and stylish goal kicker Leader on the field and some possible 2022 games on the radar for this key position recruit. All round skilled outside high marking and long kicking centreman forward and wing prospect at 190cm. Exciting !! Could do anything in 2022. Son of a gun who has dreamed of this day joins with a stellar WA Colts and local games 2021. Excels on both sides of his body and is a leader. Judd is a medium/small defender with high skills and run off the backline mantra. Will develop nicely his game style under our elite coaching Andy is one of our NGA boys who also possesses a high skill level and outside run. Like all recruits he will relish our culture and is an East Freo Shark like Dogga Rivand Taj and will develop ahead in leaps and bounds as a mid and forward ball getter. Exciting times ahead.
  6. You mentioned him as a potential winger as he can run! All I am saying that is what some Demon fans wanted early this season Tommy Mac on a wing because he was training in the centres at the time. Tommy never was he played about 5 mins at the start of his season to get him into the game in2018 and all of a sudden fans want him full time there after most had written Tommy off during the pre season this year. I didn't but when you aspire for JVR it's rather tiresome to refer ( even if not in writing any fan would relate to Tommy ) of any KP player that can run they should be considered for a wing potentially. BTW we recruited the winger Blake Howes for forward play and his outside run from the wing and maybe on the ball. Maybe you would now suggest Blake can be tried as KP forward !!!
  7. Mitch White was a half back !!! Taj has also played HB He can rest there!!!
  8. Who is Sam Banks ? Jeremy Howes brother in law ? A friend of yours? Tim Paines Manager ? Why is he any better than the draftees in Vic etc? Age and history please Very light 73 kg !! We actually need small defenders rather than medium. Got to say the highlights are about half pace. Not much pressure.
  9. Nothing to do with AFL MFC MCC and Covid and Govt. the dates been known for about 6 weeks Surely people can get off work or some thing else to come. Or do you just not like Sundays for sport.? Take a days Annual leave This is a ONCE in 57 YEARS event!! What other time would you like the event ? BTW
  10. In your long and very thoughtful post there are some points you seem to miss when assessing Jacob . ( And Mac Andrew no doubt)! Here are my 5cents worth. 1. The fact that he has played and succeeded at his own level in 2 comps in DEFENCE and KICKED MULTIPLE GOALS when up forward gives him double the chance of succeeding in our very good team. 2. When looking at highlights forget about the opposition and look at the player and his skills he uses in ONE on ONE contests. JVR appears very good user of his body has good marking judgement and good skills When he has the ball in hand and a feel for the game as well. 3. JVR like all new players will no doubt be given a very thorough professional examination as to his physical status ( which often is revealed at Combine stage ) so JT would be all over this. Extra kilos are a given for him to succeed at KP level ( look at Dogga and his extra 6/8 kg and no loss of pace etc.) 4. Change of Environment will kick in ( yes some get homesickness ) but our Culture at the Club and the huge reaction ( see in this JVR Welcome post) from family and friends will be a solid Base plus our selflessness and the Choco Yze and Goody factors that Kossie Riv Dogga Harrison P Bowser have all blossomed enhances his prospects with the competitiveness seed in most players these days of being a good pick up. 5. I saw Pettys highlights from Day 1 and he used his body and marked the ball and knew some defensive reactions to earmark him as good potential. It has not been plain sailing for Harry but he has a good grasp of his craft and his development is well on irs way. There is no reason why JVR can't do the same and it's up to him and our coaches to provide the best opportunity we can to train him ready to take over from say Maysie or Tmac or BBB whenever that opportunity arises. Harry Petty SamW and Dogga will make him earn his colours and he will be all the better fir it. 6. He might still have a little bit of growth ( height ) in himself we never know just let's hope so. Yes he will have opponents taller quicker and maybe more skilled at times or on the odd occasion but that's what sport is about the ability to compete and that's what JT said was his big trait and impressed the Dees about Jacob as a Demon style KP player who is strong in the clinches and fights every last inch for advantage. We can at least trust our FD recruiting team to have got it right since about 2015 and this showed up esp at the centre bounce in that glorious 17 mins which we mortgaged the Cup. We were too strong at the bounce and ball ups in close as a team. Welcome Jacob.
  11. Please stop trying the TMac trick He is not a winger really can play 5 minutes at best at start of game!! Nor is it will be JVR a winger. If we wanted a winger then JT would have chosen Blake Howes. Dont try and make special KP players into running machines If the GF proved many things one is that we have 2 of the best centreline players in the State. Different types again to our advantage. Hard to match up on.
  12. Stoked in fact. Once McGowan lets them free they are on the next Transport Truck across the Nullarbor. Seriously amazing how young kids don't give a sh.. about State borders etc. and adults are locked in meetings dog fights and open conflict on the Media!
  13. Was2018 when Tommy started with 53 goals. Wasn't the same after he came back from injury later in the season. Still played team role and IMO can go back into defence at any time. Now with JVR and Sam who is quite capable in the 2nd ruck and rest forward role. He needs to move around not be static where he stands like a statue. Understudy like Dogga really. Great versatility IMO with Petty Tmac and Jacob all of who can play forward or back. Sam could also play CHB as well IMO.
  14. Good call DF a Neiter clone is a great comparison. Very good solid and skilful highlights reel at both ends. No panic and will fit in to our style brilliantly. More weight needed but he is a very impressive recruit to add to a reigning premiers list for development in the next 2/3 years. Could replace any one of Tmac BBB or Maysie when required. Great get at No 19 in draft with still some guns on the radar for tonight inc. Taj and AMW.
  15. No your not right ! Jacob is from Claremont Dogga and Riv are East Freo products.
  16. What a great bangin idea !! Let's yes bang bang bang !!!
  17. I agree What you want may be better with the Shop so they deserve the cash!
  18. Quite a difference in the daily use for players and officials showing it off "privately" than the open public handling of 1to 4/5,000 each day. Think of something you value and the non lifting by the public makes absolute sense, especially in these Covid times.
  19. I agree Robbo was the best in kicking goals that's what he was there for. BUT as pointed out once he didn't take the mark that was the end of the ball game! No tackles and not any good ground ball getters ( crumbles) to mop up. Wonder how Goody would have gotten around this problem.
  20. I disagree Gerard Healy features us almost weekly on On the Couch I think he recognises us for our talent and called last year (2020) that we were not far off being a good side. Granted I don't listen to his commentary on radio at the game which can be an entirely different thing!
  21. I actually agree with you for once Dee we have some good flexibility on our list. Flexibility equals a good footballer IMO and we can never have too many of those !
  22. She has already a collection so may have got it from the online methods! Not all are waiting for all of their choices as delays on one or two items are resulting in a wait fir a full package.
  23. Salo was third or fourth best on ground and was magnificent with 96% disposal !!!
  24. I also believe Tmac did his role and Charlie all contributed. Hibbo similarly and all the defenders except Salo kept a tight rein on the Dogs forwards. Figures for some defenders weren't high but hey we kept the Dogs dangerous forwards tightly undercontrol and the mids caused us a slight problem but overall 16 shots for goal and only 3.1 in the second half was match saving footy. Nothing less than what our defence had done all year. Magnificent and elite with all contributing and Maysie proving he not only talks but he walks the walk very very competitively. A real hero's game with Naughton taking marks with all being well outside his distance. We other than our second quarter lapse played the game on our defences terms especially the first half of the third term. So much of the ball to the Dogs for so little result. Then we took or chances and bang bang bang. Result 🏆❤️💙🍾
