  1. They could find 8k just by getting rid of the deck chair area behind one end of the ground and the big LED screen on the wing behind the benches that shows neds betting ads on repeat.
  2. As I understand it Ben the Gabba is starting to show it's age and as the main showpiece stadium in the state requires a refurb at the very least. If, as some on here have said, that 80% of the infrastructure required to host the event already exists it makes me wonder where the money is going? They don't even have the cost of bribing IOC officials this time around as nobody else put their hand up to host in 2032.
  3. I'm not bothered what anyone's political views are. Particularly on an online football forum. I only replied to your post because 1. It's nearly 2024 and you're still going with the DD thing and 2. It might be more constructive to think about why whoever you vote for are currently unelectable.
  4. Of course they do ET. Sometimes governments even follow through on them. It's a misconception though to think that DA is / was toxic though and the only people surprised at his election victories were the ones getting their information from their "News" Corp echo chamber. The Dictator Dan quip was lazy then and boring now. And I didn't even vote for the guy. Your patter on here is usually pretty good Ethan and the off season is a good time to try out some new material.
  5. You mean you're not looking forward to watching Australia crush Tonga in lawn bowls SWYL?
  6. LOL. You mean the dictator democratically elected in a landslide victory yeah?
  7. Brisbane being awarded the Olympics are a bit like getting a Hard Rock Cafe or Planet Hollywood franchise just when they start to be a bit naff.
  8. Is it possible that they have T-Mac doing match sim as a key back only until Maysie returns with the rest of the senior boys next week?
  9. Definitely not a dig at you WCW. Not my style. I think you were sat next to me on the late night flight back from Hobart this year. You had a lot of bags and I helped you store some in the overhead.
  10. If we offered him to Adelaide for two first rounders next year do you think they’d notice the difference?
  11. Thanks for the links DJ. It shows the party's use of the term liberal as far back as it's founding but for a lot of it's early existence seems to be a a mix of protectionists / anti-socialists & nationalists so it doesn't look like the term has every really aligned with their views.
  12. The use of the name liberal for a centre right political party has always confused me FTB. Does the name hark from a time when they actually were socially progressive or is there another reason for their use of the word? Assuming you know the answer of course! If not I'm sure somebody else on here does.
  13. Considering they've rebuilt the whole place from scratch how hard would it have been to move the playing surface 5 metres to the west and make it oval shaped on the Moorabool St wing.
  14. I like our new strategy of recruiting kids that are too far away to even think of going home.
  15. Excellent. We can turn this [censored] off now and forget it for another year.
  16. LOL. Our pick didn't even want to leave his mum's side for the draft. 😂
  17. The GWS pick looks stoked to be playing in front of 4,000 people every second week.
  18. So the live feed crossed over to a room where a dozen blokes in West Coast polos are congratulating each other for picking Harley Reid at pick 1. 😂
  19. LOL. They've just gone with the 7 goalless quarters quote again.
  20. Wow. I wonder if any side has imploded so spectacularly in finals as we have this year. Men's or women's.
  21. Commentators kept saying that we hadn't scored a goal in 7 quarters of football yet we scored one towards the end of the 4th quarter last week.
  22. With the 5 day break between games fast becoming the norm I wonder if back to back road trip games will become a regular thing too. Whether that be two games in Adelaide like we'll be doing or 'slingshot' road games, playing one in Adelaide then the next in Perth. I wouldn't be adverse to the idea.
  23. Can she push really hard for Collingwood to play down there next year?
  24. As a supporter base it means we can get in and out of Sydney before the magpie infestation arrives.
