VFL to Merge with NSW & QLD State League
nosoupforme replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
That's the way AF Life wasn't meant to be easy. Make the kid tough it out. Poor thing. -
FD don't have an idea they shouldn't have been on the list to start with let alone play forward.
-
Tmac played reasonably where he took a strong mark and kicked a goal he is a good option at the minute while Jackson mends. He is not the 2018 player that he was but although he is battling there was some good work he did around the ground pinch hitting. You cross the white line then you are fit to play. IMO you can find some form and pick up again as you go . We will need his experience against the saints this week anyway he loves playing at Traeger park NT probably do him good to get away from the hub.
-
Talk about white line fever. On the other side of the line is the crowd the one's that carried on and abused the life out of Muir. He retaliated. Abused by some of the opposition in his playing days. It is amazing with the mental illness he was diagnosed with that he is still alive. One tough hombre. I know what it's like to be abused and be vilified ..... That's all l will say about that. As for Robert Muir he wanted to play the game he loved however the crowds and some of the the opposition players saw it different and Muir stood up to them.

So how many stupid free kicks did we give? Did you think there were 10 because that is all the umpires penalized us for. How stupid were the free kicks we gave away? Or you just think they were stupid. As you said. Watch the replay.
-
So what if it is his second game, I didn't say that he was slow or can't take a mark or kick a ball or use his endurance He can play. He is fit enough and had support . Just his tap to, let himself down in that department. However last game he found the midfield often. What was the difference this week mate? Thanks for letting me know that Preuss is not in the same class. The thing is he should have done better in that area.regardless.
-
You have a brute in Preuss that disadvantaged our midfield at times by tapping to the opposition. However it wasn't as though they sharked the ball it was pure dumb thinking by Preuss. That was a part of what cost us a chance today. Hopefully Gawn is right to play next week. Preuss is a chance to play as well to help nullify Ryder and Marshall.

Oliver , Petracca Brayshaw Viney and the help of Langdon .... All over the Doggies! Game over.

What they're saying down at Barkly Street

Convince yourselves in your dreams doggies ! We have you by the tail. -
VDB is a credit to his Family a true champion person . It would have been an accident with him but only has eyes for the ball. He cleaned him up but it was in the play and unintentional however wasn't claiming the scalp he was concerned about Mihocek's well - being. That is what you call a classy caring person.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
nosoupforme replied to What's topic in Melbourne Demons
Technically he is our no 2 ruckman and played like he belonged and l was not surprised . I remember him playing against us as he had played only a hand full of games and he certainly took it up to Max. Yes with us he has been sidelined with injuries however he came in to the side with a ripping body and fit as and ready to play. Somehow l cannot see Max playing this week against the Dogs. I think Preuss will back himself to do the job again with the help of TMac. Jackson is our future an 18 yo an athlete that is a natural ruckman come forward and can play as a midfielder ALA Nic Nat however he is 18 and has to do an apprenticeship, certainly don't want to burn him out. The thing is if Pruess does well for the rest of 2020 season while Jackson or Gawn is out or both do you look at trading him at the end of the year? Would they be that silly (Melbourne) ? I rate him. -
Windy Hill 1990 A Famous Afternoon
nosoupforme replied to Sir Why You Little's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes I was there with the Brother and a couple of mates on the outer wing, where scattered Melbourne supporters were as well. I remember many leaving as we were 34 points down with 15 minutes to go, the game was out of reach but we never left till the fat lady sang at every game regardless of the result. I WATCHED THE DEES SUPPORTERS LEAVING IN SMALL PACKS THE OUTER WAS STARTING TO EMPTY...... I could see large patches of empty space in the outer. More than 15 minutes gone in the last 34 points down the game started to turn Bennet turned it on kicking 4 in the last jackson chipped in ...... THE Dee's supporters were returning to the ground as we were looking a chance it was surreal when Melbourne was making the comeback. It was an amazing win. Wins were rare at windy hill in my time. -
May Petracca Gawn Oliver Viney . GREAT ! We must be on top of the Ladder .....You missed Brayshaw and Langdon.
-
Jones has held his own since returning to the side and his game against Cwood was more than serviceable however he is a touch slower and it shows that doesn't say that he cannot hold his place in the side. if performing. To get to 300 he has to play every game and some finals, I would love him to make it to 300 for the loyalty he has shown and the love for the club.He could have walked away quite easily, he didn't. The thing is that if he makes it fantastic however if not so be it. I love the guy for his loyalty to the to club and supporters. To me he is a Champion person.
-
You think about it G. To us who else , Win make the finals and then beat whoever we play in the finals till we make the Prelim. That is the Top 4 from there on anything can happen. I cannot see any other way.
-
Petracca The Big Show . Clarry Is The Architect Brayshaw Form of 2018 Viney lead us well VDB The hard edge Langdon The great recruit Preuss Sat on Grundy. Spargo Played best game Sparrow Boy can play Salem Held his own May Solid as always Jones Played his role Lockhart Was very serviceable. Lever slightly down today The rest All pitched in.
-
Your a stubborn man Nev. VDB had an influence in the game in the 2nd quarter he was playing in the guts at times. Dees kicked seven goal for that term. That was game over.
-
Great pickup Langdon likable and settled in well he is a beauty for us.
-
IMO a 56 point win is a thrashing in Pandemic times more like an 80 point drubbing in normal 120minutes of a footy game. I don't think many of us are getting carries away however you can only beat what is in front of you. We have looked down out for the count all year and to bounce back in the last 3 games and be in contention for the finals for now is great for our club and supporter and it gives me joy. However we keep the lid on. I see your point G Y M the test is yet to come.
-
That is certainly right with Smith , We should not be even suggesting his name to be picked. Not up to AFL standard. Nowhere near . I am sorry, l can see it. There are many local clubs that would welcome him.
-
He certainly deserves it. I wouldv'e shouted the kid.
-
VDB had 18 touches so he got to where the ball was. Spoiled the ball deep into the backline stopping Reid from taking the mark however collided heavily in the attempt to spoil collecting Miochec along the way. as well The latter was stretchered off the ground for the rest of the game. VDB plays for the jumper. Considering VDB played time in the guts with Petrac and Clarry in the 2nd quarter and did well in there. He justifies his position and in saying that today he has to be given some credit for the role he played. Well done.
-
Come on AF he is a tad small for a key of any sorts . We have many better than Smith. We have exhausted the experiment with him Not up to AFL standard. FULL STOP! Lucky to be on the list. FD got that one wrong.
-
Langdon is a very very good player and is a great pickup. Kicked 2 goals as well one from a snap from 35 out and a set shot from 45 that went straight through . Nothing wrong with his kicking for goal. Well done Dees this has been our best win for the year. Well done Goody you deserve a big mention you have the guy enjoying their fooball and are starting to believe again. 3 big wins in the last 3 game keep bringing it on Dees! . I

When the Weid kicked the first goal of the match Eddie was on the ground in a foetal posistion. That's when.
