  1. ANB intro to the Tribunal . Your honour my name is Ablett Never done anything wrong Burgoyne. Can l go now?
  2. The goals were coming thick and fast in the last quarter as l lost count. Don't forget the quarter is short. I blinked and the game had finished. I did't have time to collect my thoughts.
  3. I agree Gus was given more time in the second half and proved to be damaging as he worked into the game. Is still learning how to be involved more often when rotating in the middle. IMO l would like to see him start the game there to get himself pumped up. I rate TMac and l think he will be given the chance real soon and a person like him has alot to offer and will grasp it when he returns. Worst case he can play back if needed and can pinch hit in the ruck. He is valuable when he is up and about. Don't write him off just yet.
  4. Luke Jackson is coming on well and is showing his skills in the big time as an 18 yo. Played his part in the Ruck with 14 HO and kicked two goals when playing deep forward. Laced one out to I think it was Melksham in the last Quarter for a goal. He certainly has class written all over him. I know it was Adelaide however once you cross the white line you are there to showcase your skills and play for the jumper and do your best. For an 18 yo that is what he did. That is part of our future.
  5. Oliver Is a WINNER! GUS Has the goods Petrac The real deal L J Is our future Weid Starting to give May Is The Rock! Viney The Mighty BULL Gawn The Great Leader Sparrow On his Way The Rest Did their job.
  6. We left it to the last quarter against a bottom side but it was a knockout punch. However you see it in the end it is a win with a good percentage and some good solid performances from our engine room. Young L Jackson he is our future and has star quality written all over him. S May is starting to repay us with some dominant football. A win is a win and we move on to the next game with confidence.
  7. Brayshaw's second half was hard working and had an influence in the game when it counted in the last quarter. Hopefully now he might recognize how should be playing. Oliver is a super human magnet he just wants the ball in his hands at all costs and reads the game better than anyone.
  8. They wouldn't trade Oliver no way, he is the main part of the engine room, he starts the engine. All talk and an outsider is Lloyd can make some of us hyperventilate. As for Gus he has to quickly work out if he wants to be here and if yes then find a way to be of value to our cause going forward.
  9. Well I hope Oscar is out for this game because he will be needed to help curb Brown's influence against the Roos. We have a habit of of letting important opposition players return to form. Like our picks Vanders and Bennell, good Quality ins.
  10. If Preuss is in the Hub and fit play him. Why not his back up would be TMac and it could be what brings him into some confidence and form. I think Tomlinson is due to come back as he has been on standby for the last couple of games . Freshened up after a short spell and he will be looking forward for some action. At the least he is a goer. Save Max for the Grundy match up as it might be one of our important matches that ( as l say it with hope )....... decide a place for the finals. I am keeping the faith.
  11. Goodwin certainly needs to win the next 2 game and keep the peace within the media and the supporters and calm should come ? How long that lasts for is the Million dollar question.
  12. Young Sparrow did ok he got to the ball and had some time in the middle and played a role on Boak that is good experience and it was a gain for him as the game was done early in the piece. He battled on well. The body language on our guys didn't look right from as early in the 1ST quarter they certainly looked done. Sparrow was involved in a chain of handballs from halfback that ended up in the best passage of play for a goal in the game so atleast he can gain some confidence and that will do him good for the next game. He looks solid and could be a big improver for us. I can see him playing next game..
  13. That is so right SWYL Sheedy would have been good not just for the players also helping to pick certain kind of footballers in the Drafts. He had something to offer. Unfortunately Garry didn't like him otherwise we had him I believe....... Just for a few years would have done, We would have picked some better and tougher players .
  14. There is always a reason for a comprehensive loss to Port A. 1. They came off a 5 day break.and were beaten by St.Kilda 2 We came off a 4 day break and were beaten by Brisbane in a hard fought game. 3. 4 days later we play PA and and we don't get a look in . shouldn't happen when you see four PORT PLAYERS RUNNING TOGETHER FORWARD OF CENTRE ALL ALONE WITH NOT A MELBOURNE PLAYER IN SIGHT.That was in the second quarter. Something wrong there. Lets go back to 2018 25th April... round 5 Anzac day Wednesday game COLL V ESS Win to Coll by 49 pts. Four days later... 29TH April 2018... Essendon lose to Melbourne by 36 pts Four days later 29TH April 2018 Coll/wood lose to Richmond by 43 pts. Two winnable games lost easily. AUSSIE RULES is not basketball or baseball or Soccer that back up after a few days THEY DON'T BASH AND CRASH EACH OTHER AND TACKLE EACH OTHER WITH HIGH INTENSITY. I can see from the word go we looked flat you could read the body language however l am not making excuses for them. If you want to have significant injuries during this period then we are heading the right way of encountering them.
  15. Gawn can't keep carrying. Jones Holds head high Sparrow That's our future Umpires W T F ME LOST FOR WORDS.
  16. Sorry! That was an embarrassment ......DEES! It would be better off not turning up. You would make my week a bit easier that way.. We need to make some changes and bring in the ones that will play for the jumper and not embarrass it.
  17. I would be looking at signing Fritta for at least 3 years with the upside he has and the multy positions he can play. Only going to be a better proposition when he comes out of contract. The reason I say that because we lost Howe and most likely it was a mutual decision between ourselves and C/wood. Howe being a supporter of the Pies he was going to fulfill his dream to play for them and Bucks. This brings me back to Fritta a dead set Pie supporter I don't want to get into detail, hurry the signing please !!!!
  18. Dr D You have an opinion and l can fined a few that l would give the chop. The Weid missed a vital goal and so did a couple of others That were gimme's. The Weid is a good presence for us up forward and you need a reasonable key position opposition to mind him. He has been good since his return and he can only get better as he plays more time. Punishing won't help him however he knows where he is at. Let's have a win tomorrow and the boys gain more confidence. We are good enough. As is the Weid.
  19. It's a good point CHF The Wagner's can run a bit although they are on the fringe they have produced at times. they played a dozen games each in 2019 IMO they did well. I would rather Josh in the side at 190 cm than have a project player in Smith play. I can't understand what they see in him. I think Rivers was a bit stiff to be dropped However l would like to think TMac could come in for his excperiece and strength. He started to hold marks get involved with the inclusion of the Weid in the 1st quarter and ended with the eye injury as he was starting look ok.
  20. Why would you drop Harmes? To manage him, l can understand a one game break will do him good and many others in the side need to be rested to freshen up However that is the nature of the game in 2020. If you want Harmes to miss because because of one ordinary game D, I hope not. He can play in many positions and is very versatile. I would be very surprised to see him miss at this stage of the rounds. OH! I agree with Pickett 18yo would need to be managed. Jetta might be managed because of the head high tackles also his form might not warrant him a game this week.
  21. YOU HAVE TO BE IN IT TO WIN IT. Balls we have a game up our sleeve if that helps The boys battled it out although they were disappointed after the loss l am sure they won't die wondering. IMO we are now playing better and consistent footy an there is the upside as well. They might get it right in the coming games and things may fall into place. We keep the Faith.
  22. The combination in the middle is missing a cylinder and that is Brayshaw However l will not get into an argument as IMO he is down on form and not playing enough time in there. Throw him to the wolves at the start and hope he finds the Brownlow form of 2018. Petrac , Clarry Brayshaw, Viney and Langdon on the wings and Harmes on the Forward line or can play a vital tagging job. Brayshaw seems to be the bunny who finds himself spending more time on the bench. Doesn't help his confidence. The good teams find a way to rotate their Mids and we have to find that combination for us to move the ball forward of centre as you say AF.
  23. Yes! However not just with his kicking. Favours the left HBF to Gawn and it is so predictable. May can be creative and at times he has so much space that he can run the extra 25 metres or so and kick it well over their heads where we could be ready to pounce on the loose. ball at times. He is playing ok and just doing what he has to. Sometimes he must present himself and take on the game and lead by example. After all he was a captain of an AFL team.
  24. Jetta needs a rest after a couple of head Knocks. IMO he has struggled and is starting to slow down. He must be carrying some sought of leg injury. Maybe he needs to refresh as the season is long enough with 4 and 5 day turnarounds. Kossie seems to need a rest as well for a small running 18 yo it is certainly taken it out of him. to miss a couple of games and to collect his thoughts will do him good. TMac is a must if fit we need his strength and experience and to straighten us . Weid and TMac work well together and will be good with 2 strong marking talls on our forward line. Maybe it is time to give Bedford another go. Fleet footed with goal sense.
  25. I couldn't agree with you more Jules. Rest from the helter skelter and to give him time to collect his thoughts and come back fresh and ready to go for his next stint.
