I remember the vision of him doing his knee rehab in the States, pulling a tyre through the snow. I thought then that this was one tough individual

What they are saying at Moorabool Street

Particularly liked the one about the Willy wagtail -
The main training session is on Tuesday, so we will know then I suppose

Happy to share my barcode, seeing as the Club have endorsed it.

Port must be licking their lips

It’s not only the extra free kicks the Dogs get, it is also how quick the whistle goes whenever the umps see an opportunity to give them one. Has anyone else noticed this? Blatant.

We would have to play a shocker, or Geelong a blinder, to lose this. They would be mentally scarred from coughing up a 7 goal lead two weeks ago. We get on top early and a belting follows
-
Yeah, but Geelong kicked 8.17 and Greene kicked 4, Dangerfield had 3 possessions, that isn’t happening this week
-
Would much rather play GWS, as I think Geelong will be fired up to play us again. I don’t buy this”they will be cooked” mentality. Just because they are on average older than us doesn’t mean they are less fit. They won half a game less than us over the year. Playing 20 minute quarters. They will be a formidable opponent in the Prelim, and if we can get over that one, I reckon the cup is ours.

"Not a good look for the game"........geez, wasn't there someone suspended for a couple of weeks recently???

Hibberd for Smith, Hunt for Bowey.

Is this the best Demons side of the last 57 years?

If they can beat Geelong on Friday week, then I would say yes. Because there is no way they would be pasted in the GF like 1988 and 2000 -
There was a comment pre game, think it may have Brayshaw, not sure, about Essendon being this mighty powerhouse club back in finals, or something along those lines. See, right there, is the problem. Essendon supporters just expect that it is a given that they should be playing finals and winning flags, because they have a lot of support and membership. It’s just arrogance. And that drives their pathetic behaviour in that they always blame someone else when they don’t succeed. Every Essendon supporter I know still thinks they did nothing wrong in the drugs scandal. It was someone else’s fault. They were awful in the second half today. They played the dumbest football I have seen in a long time. Starting with that bloke with the mullet, he is a knucklehead.

Ha, the boo is back!

Because they have no one who even resembles a key forward

I never realised finishing top was so hard! Almost ill with nerves.
-
Not quite the same. At least Richmond supporters could get to Adelaide last year, we can’t!
-
I don’t think a loss would be considered a choke. I have concerns that we have a few players without finals experience. I just hope like hell that they are over the euphoria of last week.
-
Hmmm, don’t know about that. Geelong just need to slow things down, grind out a couple of goals without conceding. Make Aliir accountable, which he struggles with. Port are downhill skiers.

I am 100% with you on this Kev. We have gained absolutely no advantage by finishing on top. This game, and possibly the prelim, should have been at the MCG, crowds or not. Correct me if I am wrong, the capacity on Saturday night is 15,000? I doubt whether there will be 10,000 there. You can still get tickets 6 rows from the fence as I type. And the majority of the crowd will most likely be Brisbane supporters because people from Qld can still travel there! Good on the MFC for not rocking the boat on this, but we will rue this AFL decision.

So it's official, we are off to Perth after this weekend: Melbourne and Geelong will travel to Perth after their finals in Adelaide as the AFL prepares in advance for a potential preliminary and grand final in Perth. The Demons, who will “host” Brisbane in a qualifying final in Adelaide this weekend, will go to Perth on Sunday after their game and, like Geelong, must be ready to remain there for the duration of the finals – depending on results.
-
We have been dealt absolutely no advantage whatsoever by finishing on top. ZILCH. I totally agree with Pert. Ok, if we win, yes we get a week off, so there is some advantage there. But if we lose, what advantage do we get by playing either the Dogs or Essendon at Tassie. Again, as a losing qualifying finalist you at least got a home final in the semi!!! NIET! However, I bet if Brisbane lose, they will want their next game at the Gabba. We have been stiffed here. Best side all year.

Andrew’s did not play, he was left out of the side with hamstring soreness. He and Mitch Robinson are reportedly back this week.

How young were you when Barass last raised the cup?

9. Wasn’t at the game, but clearly remember listening to it on the radio. -
Yes, but if we win…..
