  1. Ok, what do you base that on? Your perception? A preconceived idea that because he is hard at it he must be “slow”. As I said, watch him.
  2. I will assume from that comment you think Viney is a tad slow. Maybe watch him a bit
  3. 9 years in a row. For all the talk and hype “we’re coming”, they are still mediocre at best. Too small in defence, lacking a dominant ruck, and a relatively old list
  4. Good comment. Was sitting near the interchange bench on Saturday, Goodwin was up and about encouraging players as they came off for interchange. Especially spent time with Oliver. Saints are media love child, of course they are going to highlight Ratten.
  5. What makes him a good leader? Because he can do what others can’t
  6. Petracca by the length of the Flemington straight. He is the future of this club.
  7. Agree with this. Petracca is the MUST keep. If that means letting Oliver go, so be it.
  8. Gary Pert has said that contract negotiations are entirely in Clayton’s hands. So if his management put off negotiations, consider him gone https://www.sen.com.au/news/2021/03/20/melbourne-ceo-provides-update-on-oliver-contract-talks/
  9. Good to get a win, but being at the game there was not a lot to get enthused about. Same old skill errors, Oliver and Petracca still have that tendency to try something cute which ultimately leads to a turnover. They need to get that out of their game. Some positives: I thought they showed a lot more maturity in stemming and turning around what looked like being a Freo comeback. The forward pressure was good. And of course May and Lever. The biggest negative was Jackson. I honestly don’t know what his position is, was beaten easily in the ruck, and don’t see him in our forward structure going forward. And the less said about his kicking the better
  10. Yep, great idea! Let’s take the bloke who finished 3rd in the Brownlow last year out of the engine room. Ridiculous
  11. We will agree to disagree. Appreciate your comments.
  12. Clearly you missed my post yesterday, so here it is again............ Yes it is. So let’s drill down. Brown, Weideman and Viney are the big 3 outs. All with stress/overuse injuries, in the case of Brown and Viney, pre existing. So who manages these situations? Have a look at Geelong and Richmonds current injuryposition. Year after year these two have a dream run. Why is that? I don’t profess to know the answer, but there has to be something more to it than luck....... And to answer your question, no I do not have any inside knowledge. Just having an opinion on a forum site. Maybe we have the wrong people, from the Coach down? Maybe not. What I do know is that we have underachieved for the best part of the last 56 years, and I am totally fed up with it. It’s terrific you are a supreme optimist 58er, most on this site are the opposite. Probably for the same reasons as me.

  14. Not saying they are to blame for injuries. Just over rated
  15. They will need to be......the pill will be going into their area a fair bit this year!
  16. Ah yes, the Great Messiah. Fitness staff, totally over rated.
  17. Agree 100%. Just don’t see how we can kick a winning score with the outs we have. Wouldn’t be surprised if we are 0/6, then the season is gone. We just don’t have the depth to cover. Depressing.
  18. What I did learn today was that I have just wasted $459........again
  19. There was a lot of smoke about his tenure at the end of last season. Carlton were into him big time. He is out of contract at the end of this year. Do you honestly think that there will not be HUGE interest in him from most other clubs? His manager will be fielding massive offers. All footballers crave the ultimate success, a premiership. Can he get it with us? We have been dealt a massive hit with the loss of Brown and Weideman, and I just don’t think we can conjure a winning score without those two key forwards. Do you? So we will struggle to win games early to mid season, kiss finals goodbye because history tells us that you need early runs on the board. Hence my opinion that after another fruitless year, Clayton will seriously consider his options, especially when they have big bucks attached.
  20. After another disappointing year by MFC he will seek success elsewhere
  21. Oliver will not be playing for MFC next year
  22. There will be no surprise packet. The whipping boy will be Goodwin when he his sacked mid season after we are zero wins from about round 9
  23. The fact the club are sending him to a top knee surgeon would tend to suggest otherwise. If it were just a case of some swelling from overuse I am sure the club physios could manage that
