  1. I am going to call this now. Port Adelaide cannot win the flag this year. Their defence is rubbish
  2. I am not saying he can’t get back to that level. But at the moment, the selection of M Brown is the right one
  3. Because at the moment Ben Brown is nowhere near a 60 goal a year forward. And hasn’t been for 2 years. Mitch Brown is a like for like for TMac if he has to go home. You have to admire the team selections this year, based purely around form and the aptitude for the role. It is a major reason the team sits on top. That and a healthy playing list. Long May it continue
  4. I think this is where the conversation around Sam gets a little confused. At 23, he is not a kid! The simple fact is that he is now half way through his sixth AFL season (and probably his career), and there is little to suggest he will make it as a productive key forward. We can talk all we like about what he may become, or not, and how others have taken time to develop (Hawkins). Hogan at 23 was a way better player than what Sam is, and I could come up with many others. I really hope he does make it, but I have little confidence that will happen.
  5. Don’t underestimate Geelong. Dangerfield and Cameron are two big ins to the team we beat
  6. Ok, I will own up to one of those comments, and yeah, feel like a bit of a prat right now. But at half time, we were ordinary. The second half was like a different team had stepped on to the park. I suppose game day threads are exactly that, people venting their thoughts on what they are seeing at the time. Emotions can be a roller coaster. And please don’t question my commitment as a supporter, I buy a premium package every year in the hope that I can use the GF guarantee. Went to both 1988 and 2000, belted off the park in both! Scarred, yeah probably
  7. Yeah, a supporter who has seen the same rubbish for 57 years. How long you been going pal?
  8. Should never play another game for MFC again. Find another club son
  9. We just have too many ordinary footballers. No way we are winning a flag this year. Typical Melbourne, pump up your tyres, then deflate you when the crunch comes. So disappointing.
  10. Keep hoping mate. It ain’t gonna happen. And if you are seriously comparing him with Tom Hawkins, you sir, are a fool. Just for the record, the stats DO back up my immature and embarrassing assertion. He hasn’t fired a shot, other than a final in 2018. Averaging a goal, whoopee do!
  11. Wow! All that to average under 8 disposals a game. The problem with Sam then, and again now, is that he does not impact the game.
  12. Well if that’s the case, then it is a damning blight on him. Been in the system for 6 years, hasn’t played 50 games yet, and around 50 goals total. With the hot competition for a spot in the 22 at the moment, if work rate is an issue, then goodbye. Strikes me as the sort of player who will go to a second club, fail to fire a shot there, and give it away. I don’t think his heart is in it.
  13. Seriously? The whole point of the fortress scenario is that we have the majority of support in the crowd. If the crowd is zero, there ain’t no fortress. If the AFL/Vic Govt decide there can be no crowd at the G on Queens Birthday, there is absolutely no point bringing the players back to play there
  14. In the same league as Oliver and Petracca? Make your your own calls
  15. Ordinary footballer at best. Never going to hurt you. A great example of why stats are sometimes meaningless
  16. Based on my observation of him. He lacks mobility. And those other key forwards have one thing he doesn’t, they can get the ball when it hits the deck
  17. His performance in the VFL did not warrant selection. Funny how just a couple of weeks ago everyone was saying we had a nice dilemma with our plethora of forwards. And here we are wondering again. The brutal truth is Weideman has shown nothing at AFL level to say, yep he’s the one we pin our hopes on going forward. And I suspect Browns best years are behind him. His movement appears limited, which is more than likely that knee issue. Don’t forget, North were happy for him to leave. we will get beaten easily tonight
  18. Won’t matter who comes in and goes out. We are not getting within 6 goals of them
  19. Predictable response from someone who knows the writing is on the wall. Beginning of the end for the Tigers
  20. I like it. Weid needs to be given an opportunity to show what he is capable of. Brown was the only out for that scenario. All of those posters against Melksham inclusion, he is a quality footballer. Sure, may not be impacting games as much as he did, but at this stage is a better prospect than Chandler
