  1. I'm sorry but puh-lease. Kicking for goal is a different kettle of fish. If you miss simple set shots for goals then you're letting the whole team down and giving the other team a confidence boost. Petracca should never be played in the forward line until he's fixed his kicking. I've said this for 18 months and it's about time people opened their eyes to this. even in the finals last year, petracca had a chance to ice the game against geelong but failed. And he does it time and time again. He is the biggest anti-clutch player in the AFL.
  2. If anyone has seen the last 2 minutes of the game video on the afl website. Look at lewis in the last minute. Mcevoy marks it deep in defence, gives it off to a burgoyne who gets a free kick. 40 secs left. Lewis is further up the field pointing and directing. He guards space himself and has 2 hawks players within his vicinity. He mans neither of them but errs on the side of manning the guy further away from our goals leaving the other guy free over the top. Burgoyne hits him and hawks are now streaming down the field with lewis lagging behind. in the last 20 secs amongst all the chaos, the ball spills to lewis who manages to fumble, but thankfully it didnt hurt us. it just summed lewis up in 1 piece of play. Poor leadership and Incorrect game sense, slow on the transition and not clean. I'm not saying he wasnt a gun in the past, but he isnt the same anymore.
  3. almost 20% of hawks goals came from harmes.
  4. I agree. but Harmes essentially walked into the goal square and booted 2 goals for hawthorn. Do you know how valuable goals are in this game. I'd prefer o'meara touching it 30 times then harmes kicking 2 goals for hawthorn.
  5. Lockhart: earned more games Oscar Mcd: Earned Casey games Harmes: relishes tagging duties Tom Mcd: Hero to zero Salem: continues consistent form Petracca: kicking woes continue Lewis: slow and untidy brayshaw: untidy by foot melksham: costly missed shot hibberd: returning to form kielty: 6 touch game. garlett: missed 2 sitters. frost: important clutch touches hore: terrible by foot gawn: contested all day wagner: missing persons unit Fritsch: wasteful by foot hunt: did his job stretch: an important goal Oliver: a quiet 30. Jones: a costly behind.
  6. yeah. no pocket the early pick and be done with it. Season is [censored].
  7. I dont care really what anyone else thinks but harmes undid all of his good work by those 2 50m penalties. we were set up behind the ball when he gave them away. So he basically kicked 2 goals for the hawks today. Which is unforgivable. Learn the bloody rules and run away from the ball carrier ffs. He kicked a goal which he owed us which half made up for his mistakes. It's a shame because other than that he played quite well. But in an era where stats are overrated. I'd say about 10 midfield touches is equivalent to 1 goal. so I'd say 2 goals from garlett is as effective as about 20 touches from a mid. so Harmes giving 2 goals away is basically 20 of his disposals gone to waste. that's how I see it and that's how I value goals/midfield touches.
  8. harmes was cr@p. I'm sorry but giving away 2 50m penalties is 2 goals we dont get back. it doesn't make up for how good he was other than that. and melksham? wtf was he thinking? I'm so sick of full time afl players having no clue what to do in in clutch situations Blind freddy could see that he either had to find a short target or kick it to the goal line. almost cost us the game. I hope a coach gives him a slap on the chops for that stupidity.
  9. absolutely hopeless today. why is he even in the team. turns it over by foot and far too slow. Is also undisciplined so he really offers nothing for us.
  10. oscar McDonald please! absolutely hopeless. i genuinely believe I have a better skill set than him. He is a vfl player, potentially a vfl reserves player. Must go.
  11. in shock? we've been awful for 2 months
  12. I'd much prefer him learning to kick straight then all this fancy drowning in a pool [censored]
  13. how is this an opportunity? an opportunity to come 13th instead of 14th? the season is gone. it was gone 3 weeks ago. play kids and send all injured players away for surgery and dont show me goodwin's face again dribbling out the same cr@p about getting better. I dont want to get better unless it means making finals, otherwise I'd prefer to perform worse and get good picks and illicit more personnel changes
  14. oscar baker? he is a mature age player that has all the traits that our poor club needs and he still couldn't crack a game, this year or last. delist
  15. Season 2020 *Just my personal opinion. Delist: Bedford, Stretch, Baker, Maynard, O.Mcd, J.Wagner. That's 6 players. Realistically we will keep Omcd because the coaches love him for some reason so thats 5 delistings. Use them all at the draft on quick types. Nail the first pick and cross our fingers that one of the later picks work out.
  16. We need our picks. We're not in the premiership window anymore. I want a reason to come to the footy. Oscar Baker, Sparrow, Spargo, Bedford, Weideman, Jordon, Petty etc. don't really excite me. It's time Jason Taylor picks up someone with a bit of flair. And no more forward pockets that aren't the full package. Bedford, fast no skills. Spargo, good skills, but slow. A jamie elliott type or no-one please.
  17. you know who wouldve been good for us? gary Rohan. all these demonland experts laughed it off. Now he is arguably the recruit of the year. why wouldn't we look at someone who has pure speed beats me. the lists shortcomings were obvious before the season started
  18. surely we've learnt our lesson the last 2 drafts from throwing away first round picks. FFS! some people seriously never learn. There's no way in hell we will throw away our first rounder. No chance.
  19. roos can't be blamed for goodwin's decisions. jesus christ! roos just wanted to coach for a couple seasons before doing media full time. Sure he helped in choosing Goodwin as an understudy but he was focused on just coaching us. 8 games ago everyone was cheering roos' name after the finals victories now people are looking to blame him. ffs! if it wasnt for roos we would never have experienced finals.
  20. what on earth are you on?? No way on earth would sydney let go of Zac Jones for a 2nd round pick. Not even that but they have to lose their 3rd rounder in the process! If you're going to post, be realistic. Zac Jones would require a mid range 1st round pick at the very least.
  21. I think our fans need a wake up call too. we scraped into finals last season and played 2 great finals before 1 horrendous final. Pre-season came and all of our players were sitting on the side lines. it was at this point that I thought the coaches are kidding themselves thinking we can send 17 for off season surgery and not stagger them and still be competitive. Also, when I noticed that petraccas kicking hadnt improved it confirmed that the coaches aren't focusing on what we need to improve. It's also taken Goodwin 5 weeks (arguably a season and 5 games) to realise OMac cant football.
  22. doesn't mean we ignored it. We aren't going to get leg speed over night.
  23. delisted at seasons end. we need speed and he still can't get a game. goneski
  24. we don't need rowell. we need speed. rowell is a slowish accumulator with avg skills. I want someone with pace to burn.
