Riewoldt rates Hogan as better forward than TMac
Dr.D replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
how can hogan be above mcdonald? mcdonald averages more goals per game despite playing less time inside 50 :S Not to mention the defensive stuff. -
You can't include Lever based on 10 games yet. That's just projecting. Out: Heffernen, Lever, Pickett and Rodan In: Vince, Hibberd, Melksham and Garlett.
-
wtf is Watts doing in there! surely taking the p!ss. I'd say Brent grgic would be in before him. scott Thompson Jeff farmer woewodin
-
needs to be played forward, not back. Put a premium on goal kicking accuracy instead of having petracca blaze away
-
Anyone who has actually played in hot conditions knows that it's never as bad as it seems. You're focussing on the ball, on the game. You're running, you're getting the wind in your lungs. They'll be fine. Such a precious bunch you are.
-
I guess we'll see this weekend won't we. Melbourne trained when it was 40 degrees this year already. And they did running sessions too.
-
Not sure what converting it to Fahrenheit does. They train when its 40 degrees and they'll play when its 36.
-
harden up guys. it's not 45 or anything. its 38 and it'll probably be around 35 at the time they start playing and dropping by the minimum
-
yeah I agree everyone gets a bit reactionary. I think we should just play to our list strengths. The Collingwood ruck/fwd set up isnt what makes them dangerous. its degoey, Hoskin Elliott and Stephenson. elite speed. That's what we dont have. hunt does if he makes the 22. But for wce its elite key position players in kennedy and McGovern and darling. For us its inside mids with viney oliver harmes and brayshaw but I think our small fwds are underrated in hannan and melksham.

Post Practice Match Discussion - Melbourne v Collingwood
Dr.D replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Stef Martin would've been nice. Blind Freddy could see the Martin was going to be a gun. Not sure who it was that decided to get rid of him but I saw his all-australian potential from the outset. -
WCE only won the grand final because Sheed kicked a clutch goal under pressure? lol. That's ridiculous dude. You've got to give credit when its due. You could say the same thing about Stephensons goal in the 1st qtr, or Hoskin elliot from the same pocket as Sheed in the first quarter, not to mention the darling drop in the goal square in the last minute that he would drop 1 out of 100 times. Like I said, credit when its due. WCE deserved to win. Especially considering they had to play an away game at the mcg with 70k pies fans.

was anyone sitting on the grassy mound today? one guy told everyone to sit down as the people sitting couldn't see which was something I'd never do but was definitely warranted. Sit down people! -

Dees to take on Pies in Scratch Match (22/2/19)
Dr.D replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
So we get a complete review of the scratch match, whoever is going how about we divide up some of the players to focus on. maybe count their stats and report back. I'm going to lock in on Tom Sparrow and James Jordon :) -
hey guys, just a quick question, do we have our 1st round draft pick for next season? I've really enjoyed watching sparrow train this year and miss the feeling of having an early draftee at training sessions :)

Dees to take on Pies in Scratch Match (22/2/19)
Dr.D replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Hey guys, I'm going along for the whole thing. Feel free to post anything you want me to look out for. I might take snaps on my phone too and unlike other posters I don't care who uses the photos. lol jk just stirring the pot! -
Hannan isn't getting much love. He is our best small forward in my opinion. I rate him ahead of spargo and garlett. his goal he kicked against Geelong was clutch on the big stage!
-
I have high hopes for weideman. Going to be a great player!
-
I'm going to get a call up at this rate
-
It's definitely concerning. Not just at the quantity of players but the quality of players. That said, they all needed to have off season surgery because they were obviously playing through injuries last season so at least this way we can get them healthy for this season albeit underdone.
-
sure. but all I'm saying is petracca shouldn't be training with the forwards and whilst preuss is good insurance for gawn I think we need a forward of true rucking height that is a good kick for goal
-
Gawn should be doing an hour of goal kicking practice alone. With a goal kicking coach. Petracca needs to work on his snaps as well. He kicks it far too high and allows for the ball to curl far too much than he needs to. like he'll aim 5m right of the behinds and try and kick it up high and try and curl it around when he really just needs to aim at the middle of goals. it never curls as much as he is allowing for. I hope this post reaches him or I'll show him myself!
-
I'm a bit worried looking into this year. with the new kick in rule missed shots on goal are going to be even more costly. As the ball will be at least over the half way mark after the kick in It sounds like we plan on playing petracca forward who couldn't hit the side of a barn last season and one of our sharp shooters in melksham is well under done. Our other sharp shooter in fritsch they want played on a fricking wing or back flank. Throw in the fact that either preuss/gawn will be forward also. It frustrates me that a priority in goal kicking conversion hasn't been made and I will be more than happy to re-visit this post each time we lose a game due to poor conversion.
-
I'm quite annoyed with the number of good players that have had a limited pre-season. melksham, Oliver, viney, lever..yikes! a horror start
-
I'm sorry but if she is consenting she is consenting. if you question whether she was having fun, then you must question whether he was too. Otherwise, it a massive double standards. I agree he was silly to get filmed but he was in fricking Germany where no-one knows him. he is having fun with a legal substance and there was no nudity whatsoever.
