  1. our 3 worst today were: 1. Jones: like seriously what the hell. I'm a jones fan but he was making mistakes your avg suburban player wouldn't make. 2. Gawn: smashed in the ruck. terrible around the ground. couldn't even run without hyper extending his knee. b 3. frost: got pumped by westhoff.
  2. stretch has always just been a bad kick. His ball drop is terrible and has been since day 1.
  3. Alex Rance is one of the best defenders of all time. Not sure how you can argue against a 5 time all-australian and AA captain. Mind boggling. I'm glad you aren't on the recruiting team.
  4. harmes plays better when he has an assignment. Robbie gray if he plays midfield otherwise rockliff.
  5. I can't really see us progressing until mid-season once the likes of Viney/Melksham/Jones etc. get into their groove after hampered pre-seasons and the likes of Joel Smith/Lever/AVB all return from long term injuries. 1. Richmond 2. Collingwood 3. WCE 4. Adelaide 5. Essendon 6. Melbourne 7. GWS 8. Brisbane 9. Geelong 10. North Melb 11. Port Adelaide 12. Sydney 13. Hawthorn 14. WB 15. Fremantle 16. StKilda 17. Carlton 18. Gold Coast
  6. Frost Lewis and Oscar down back scares the hell out of me.
  7. Well surely Misson was one of the people that decided to put Joel Smith back on the ground? Was he involved in rushing Viney back in and screwing up his body for a year? I don't know who it was but the joel smith screw up proves that they don't prioritise a healthy list before round 1. Probably half of our 22 on the weekend will have had a seriously interrupted pre-season.
  8. Sackable offence. Bloody ludicrous. JLT means nothing. I don't care if we played with 10 players, i want my players healthy for round 1. Even if it takes them a few weeks to get going.
  9. Seriously stupid by the club. This is why I hate pre-season. You end up weaker in round 1. I'd rather bubble wrap the players. We have 18 players on the bloody injury list for christ sake.
  10. any injury I just blame Misson these days. but I'm pretty annoyed that we mismanaged viney and cost us as season without him, Lever had a setback, vandenberg looks like he'll miss half the season, joel Smith was played injured during the fricken JLT.its really starting to add up and annoy me.
  11. Butters is a bloody good player. he'd slot straight into our team.
  12. I think it's ok to keep people accountable from time to time. including us fans. For 3 years demonland was full of posters saying matthew bate was the next pavlich, blessed the next brent Harvey etc. Not to mention half the forum saying we would rue the day Watts left our footy club. Dunn and Howe would've been handy players but sometimes players need a new environment to change.
  13. I wish melbourne was doing something for the loss of colin sylvia. not sure whether we'll be wearing arm bands or not but things have been a little too quiet for my liking.
  14. I'm looking forward to round 1. I'm looking forward to having Viney starting in the centre square. We missed him a lot during last season. This is what I want from this season individually: - Lever to play 10 games - Joel Smith to kick over 30 goals. - Petracca to average 90 afl fantasy points.(I love my fantasy sport!) - Brayshaw to get in the AA squad. - Gawn to beat Grundy for AA again. - weideman to kick 40 goals. - Viney to play 20 games minimum.
  15. No idea how you can't have t.mac there. Clearly 1st or 2nd for me. I mean, we have a deep midfield so can cover the loss of a viney just like we did for most of last season. No way do we make finals last season without t.mcdonald.
  16. agree with everything you said here. May knew that he was making a hard hit. He didnt need to run up as he was just using Berry's momentum to create the force. He moved back into his path, powered his centre of gravity and leant into Berry with his shoulder. I can't believe we are even discussing this. Sure discuss whether it was light or medium impact but I'm getting tired of all these tough guys that think May had no choice but to do what he did. Berry doesnt need to have awareness by the letter of the law. If you get hit high or in the head through a bump that player is going to get time.
  17. high contact is anything above the shoulders. so it's not just the head. I,for one, think he also got him in the chin but for the sake of not changing the point of the discussion let's say he just got his throat. that's still high contact.
  18. 1. Gawn 2. McDonald (otherwise it's only weideman) 3. May (otherwise its oscar McDonald. God help us) 4. Oliver 5. Brayshaw
  19. You can still bump despite not running into it. He had literally 1 step into the bump. maybe even half a step. it wasnt malicious but he chose to bump and got him high. this was an easy one for the mrp. Put yourself in Berry's position. He is running along gives the handball off and gets hit high. Yes he didnt have awareness but the moment May turned sideways and leant into him it was far more than a brace and the onus shifted to May to not get Berry high. If you think it was a brace then we'll probably never agree.
  20. You call it a brace. it's a bump. May knows that berry is running straight at him. once the ball is hand passed May moves to his left and leans back to his right to hit berry. What do you call the difference between leaning forward to brace and a bump? it's the same thing. no-one is arguing it wasnt a bump except for you and some demons fans.
  21. Binman is spot on. May clearly initiated contact and bumped berry. It amuses me that people think he had no other option but to brace. He literally side stepped left and went back into berry to lay the bump. I'll put everyone elses view down to the fact that they are just biased supporters that can't see the forest for the trees. I can understand arguing medium impact down to light impact but arguing that May was simply standing his ground is laughable. And the tribunal agreed with Binman and I.
  22. you say brace, I say it's a bump. he got him high. We're talking about Steven May here. He knew he was going to bump him as soon as the handball had left Berry's hand.
  23. I'm sorry but we're just going to have to disagree. No-one is saying the hit was big but it doesn't have to be if the person isn't expecting contact. There may be a small element of May protecting himself but he did so by leaning forward and bumping. The only thing wrong with it is he got him high. You're not serious if you think that a player is going to get hit the way Berry did with May standing stationary? Lol. Berry is a tough nut footballer who definitely didn't act up. He gathered himself, pushed away the trainers and wanted to keep going so whoever insinuated that Berry couldn't take a hit is just deluded.
  24. everyone knows the brownlow isnt a true representation of player ranking so not sure why you're using it to fit an argument. As good as brayshaw is he didnt even finish top 3 in our Bnf.
