  1. Hear Hear @Nasher. 184 < 3 - I'd rather lose by 3 points and have cliches thrown at the team such as 'brave' 'honourable' and 'was ours to lose' - than get smashed. As someone rightfully said, 4 points is more meaningful - but so is % as this is a marathon, and we just had a little calf strain.
  2. 1. Wagners tackle on Selwood 2. Wagners tackle on Selwood 3. Wagners tackle on Selwood
  3. Thats the way it falls sometimes - if we won by 3 points the same issues are there to work on - FWIW I am happy that it wasn't a blow out, and presumably % at the end of the year will be meaningful.
  4. pre game warm ups - as you run out to play...not the pre - pre game warm up, if you follow me
  5. 3.20 start ESDT? Feels like the clock is going half pace - I’d hate to be a player...
  6. The opposite of love isn't hate - its apathy - and I can see there is still so so soooo much love for Jack on this forum... keep kicking goals Jack, for you are the gift that keeps on giving! And my own personal view is - 10 years into his career - Jack needed a change of team (environment, culture, coach, teammates) for him to give himself the opportunity to be more consistent. It was never to happen within the team of Melbourne - the factors that drive the inconsistent behaviours are well spoken about, from development and support, but its not MELBOURNE as an entity that did this, its a range of individuals over a decade, including Jack himself .
  7. Hee hee -considering all the talk vs Curnow... melt down for some if he is. I'd imagine its old mate Wags the dog.. don't demonland sponsor him?
  8. Like the rather amusing time at Kardinia - 2 seasons ago the Cats celebrated Corey Enrights (who is a legend) 300th game or games record - pre match - (pre match, who the eff does that) as though the win was a formality. They don’t get up for their champions even at Kardinia ??
  9. THIS. - Wayne's role in the media is to sensationalise, or infer stuff that can become sensational. The evidence of course is contrary and people write narratives post hoc. I remember when Collingwood were in their premiership year and they were amazing leaders because they could have tough finger pointy conversations on the field - and by correlation that they were winning, it was demonstrating that those tough convo's on the field were the CAUSATION of their success.... and THEN ...when they were loosing those same tough finger pointy conversations - were ALSO the cause of their failure! Melbourne will be fine...with rifts, and without rifts...
  10. I agree with this, and with my albeit limited exposure to medical personnel in the afl - in addressing things that even THEY don't know a prognosis for, the only thing they choose to do is wait. So in essence, the medical team, advised by JV's pain experience will proactively be waiting... until inflammation subsides...as they too don't know (not through ignorance, nor malpractice, simply because JV is a sample size of one that every treatment and recover is unique to the individual).
  11. Gawns legs remind me of this site ... https://www.sadanduseless.com/2013/08/legs-or-sausages/
  12. Can this thread (and thread title) be used for all Jack Watts related correspondence for the rest of his career? Just your one stop shop for all Jack Watts.
  13. All external noise that either makes you (as a supporter) feel hopeful, or resentful that the captains/pundits dont rate your beloved. About as irrelevant as Mark Latham...
  14. The interesting part for me was Jackson's comment that, "only one real offer was made, and that in itself says something."
  15. Yes it does, Ill pass on the details if you like... just currently tied up (but not enough to check demonland))
  16. @stevethemanjordan - Agreed with all of this, and enjoy most of your posts...
  17. age old gag...but trac vs mccartin....
  18. I watched a bit of the north game and had watched a couple of strong overhead marks from him in pack situations - he’s done it a few times over the first few seasons (and his style is reminiscent of Dangerfield)- and I suspect he is better in that department than many give him credit for - this will only hold him in good stead if he drifts forward...
  19. Hows the Weid tracking? Any legitimate observations?
  20. It may have been mentioned before on the thread (and certainly I am repeating myself to myself) - I genuinely think he is as talented and will be as durable as Shaun Burgoyne.
  21. Bloody hell mate... Harsh as - thyroid issues has had a significant influence on his trajectory.
