  1. whats your vested interest.... I ask with interest?
  2. sooooo...who's the alternate to J.Smith, and why?
  3. It's like Putin's view of the west creeping towards them by slowly gathering countries from the former Eastern Bloc into Nato and the EU... a free kick there, a free kick here... yadda yadda yadda....
  4. If it was a conspiracy, or they were trying to 'get one up and curry favour'... I'd wager GFC wouldn't be inviting said umpire down on press conference day to have a coffee in the open cafe where all the public can see you... tin foil hat time...
  5. I thought you were giving me props for a moment there @timbo ie: "word mofo!" Alas, not to be.
  6. mate they're not that bad... i was in the outer with 2 geelong supporting mates for '187'... and one had the keys to the car for the lift home... those generalisations [censored] me a bit to be frank. plenty of kindly old ducks sit there knitting scarfs too... i was also there for - a draw (yze's specky and miller taking a kidney out of Lonergan) as well as '24' in enrights 300th - where the crown celebrated like they had won PRIOR to the game...weird weird stuff. prediction by a similar amount - 4 goals...either way.
  7. He is saying pragmatically, the more exposure to 'finals' pressure games the better we get at them... and that is only good for the playing list to 'learn' how to play and experience it directly. That's WTF he meant by that.
  8. Gee he talks...it's just words...compete...it's do or die, bloody press conferences, where coaches spout inanities.. see ball get ball etc etc our time is now, no passengers, if we loose, it never really hurt them...
  9. @stevethemanjordan - you're bang on. It's an uncomfortable truth, that's for sure.
  10. They've had Henderson out all year...
  11. happily an ignoramus - how does that help with forward craft? (and has chaplin helped with ours )
  12. ahhh, can't please some week to week - small things change for the individuals, the coaches, the systems and it becomes cumulative. how else can we account for such massive discrepancies in form lines between what are seemingly teams who are so far apart... bris/hawth, melbs/saints etc etc
  13. I assume there will be some inevitable posts re: 'how did we lose to port' - similarly those who thought the first half against the dogs were awful. To me - this game/ the cats loss, richmonds loss, hawthorn etc - shows how close the competition is, and how mere percentages 'off your game' or at times 'luck' means you win, or get smashed... It's elite sport, it's tough and the margins are always small... AND - I really like what Roos, Goodwin and PJ et al, are building towards...and it may not be 2018...
  14. kudos @Petraccattack, i didnt know you had it in you ??
  15. ive been looking for the '5 talking points' from the WB game on the afl site - has anyone stumbled across it? - could you pop a link to me - cannot seem to see it...
  16. That just described my season also... mind you, i am always optimistic!
  17. Oh, the early call... I remember Richmond and Tambling...
  18. I am frothing for VDB to come back - however the question where does he fit and who does he replace in the current side? Anythoughts anyone?
  19. I was a little tounge in cheek - and also it was irrespective of contract situations... mostly little bro's follow the big dog in the house :)... or go the complete opposite way of course and yer bang on @Ethan Tremblay..whatever sells the papers.
  20. just the alternate view, but why wouldn't his brothers want to come back and play with him???
  21. I always wondered whether mav was a relative of paul...
  22. and at the risk of derailing...did you notice Jordan Lewis going to ground right at the end though... writing was on the wall back then ?
