  1. Because he still had a year to go on his contract when he retired last year so technically he was still on the Brisbane list for this year.
  2. I don't get it. He tells us our facilites aren't good enough, then goes to Carlton where they're almost as bad. I reckon he could have thought of a better excuse than to publicly shame us like he did.
  3. Compare what Harris said to what came out of the Essendon camp today: http://essendonfc.com.au/news/news.asp?nid=5402 In particular: "We won’t just put a line through this and walk away, we will sit close and see what happens," Mr Auld said. "There is a lot to happen between now and the end of trade week and if that means Collingwood and Carlton can’t do a deal we will just have to see what happens then." Compared with: "...but we do have this comparative disadvantage" "...it is very disappointing that Chris will be playing elsewhere next year" We could have been a bit more positive like Essendon. Sure, we have a 0.00000001% chance now, but if Dylan Howard is to be believed, then WC was a little bit interested at our deal, and if they can't deal with Coll or Carl, then maybe.
  4. Yes. Overall not a good day in the history of the MFC
  5. This is good. Reminds me of 03 with 3 and 5 for Syliva and McLean
  6. Was sent an email today from the club about the 'Advisory Panel' - in it they said that the club had a new logo for next year: I for one am not overwhelmed by it. I prefer the current logo. Thoughts?
  7. Good on you
  8. Wow You made so many great points. You pretty much some up my feelings too. I just hope the football community turns on him to make him feel like he made the wrong decision
  9. I agree. With no sour grapes at all, I firmly believe that he will lose massive amounts of respect in the football community. He has clearly attacked our facilities and funds, and shown that he is driven by nothing other than money. What is worse is that he chose to rule us out before ruling out Carlton. I can't see his logic at all - unless he wanted to be seen as a money-seeking [censored]. Why rule us out before Carlton? I can think of nothing better than for Melbourne to make a resurgance up the ladder next year, and for Judd to end up with his first ever wooden spoon.
  10. Yep, Dylan Howard was the reporter. You make a good point.
  11. Yeh, there was a reason we got rid of Jolly in the first place. Wonder why he wants out of Sydney, and what are they gonna do about another ruckman if we give them Miller.
  12. This was a Dylan Howard story, was it not? How reliable is he?
  13. I reckon Lade's gone. Getting old now, starting on the bench.
  14. I don't want to see either go, but if it came down to it, Petterd should stay, only because he showed a lot more promise than Frawley this year. Just wondering if his fitness will be affected at all by his lung injury.
  15. Geelong by no more than 2 goals Paul Chapman to get Norm Smith
  16. I like it. Younger and better than Jamar. Thing is, what do we have to give Adelaide? Please not Davey.
  17. We're better off having Judd for 6 than Frawley for 12, and from what Frawley showed this year, it could take another 2 years before he's premiership-quality. That means 8-10 years of Frawley compared with 6 years of Judd (I know which one I'd prefer), and who knows, we could do a Port Adelaide and find another Westhoff with our last pick who can settle into our defence.
  18. Sounds good to me
  19. Yep, here's the link: http://essendonfc.com.au/news/news.asp?nid=5395
  20. Hopefully the media will push the fact that Collingwood is in a greater need of a proper ruckman than Judd, so they might shift their focus to that rather than Judd
  21. It would seem as though Bruce and Green are the front-runners. I don't want McLean to be forced into captaincy - he needs to concentrate on his fitness and his footy first.
  22. I think most people are overlooking the biggest factor here, and that is that West Coast will take whatever they can get their hands on. Judd will nominate the club he wants, and if West Coast doesn't comply, they will get nothing for the greatest player in the league. They can't afford this, so they will be forced into dealing with whoever Judd wants. This means that they will make deals with the likes of Collingwood and Essendon regardless of previous dealings. It all comes down to which club makes the best presentation to Judd over the next week. If Melbourne can offer him (not WC) something Collingwood cannot, we are in with a shot.
  23. Good point, and I agree with Ebert being our pick.
  24. Are you going? Yes Crowd? 19,928 Who will win? Melbourne by 18 Which camp are you in - Winning --> 3rd pick will still be a good one
