I actually think he generally uses the ball very well, especially in open play as opposed to his set shots. Not going to argue with the lazy bit. For someone who is apparently one of the fitter players at the club, he should be getting more of it. If he could consistently get his 20 touches and a goal, which he does do in patches, he would be a serious player.

Yep, this is obviously more than 50-50, he wouldn't be making public comment otherwise. I think it is more a 90-95% chance if happening now. This will be huge for the MFC.

About time some sort of set in stone structure was applied to the draw. Absolute equality is probably a pipe dream but this is a step in the right direction. The shortening of the nab cup is also a big winner. My only gripe is rep footy. I would hate to see some passionless game between meaningless teams like some of the games being suggested. If they are going to reintroduce rep footy, it has to be state of origin, but not sure they have thought it through enough yet on how it would work.

Call me crazy, but I think the heart and effort is there in this second half of the year (with the odd exception), they are just shite.

I assumed he had played more than that. Guess he is still young(ish) an didn't have a great run with injuries early on. Congrats Col, I must admit I have had my doubts at certain times but he is one of only few reliable players we have, and happy to say I was wrong.

We had the better of that quarter but switch off for 5 minutes and cop 5 in a row, while any chance we create we manage to fluff. Should be within a goal or two really.

I always say, I will support anyone who gives everything they have got when representing the MFC, and Joel definitely falls under that category.

This is just about the only thing that can bring any joy to my football watching year of 2013. We have had another stinker to top all stinkers, but if the Bombers, and more specifically Hird, get shafted, I might just change out of my pyjamas, shave my beard and head outside for the first time in the last 6 months.

Ideally the board should have been well and truly in place by now. Who knows whether the reasons it is not have been avoidable or not, certainly not me. But it would be nice to hear some news sooner rather than later.

Those who have watched more Casey games than me, could you tell me whether Troy Davis has played any time in the forward line. Thought it was odd he finally got his chance, and he was put in the forward line where he was unsurprisingly out of his depth and comfort zone. We threw away a good chance to win in the last 30 seconds of the third quarter. Nicholson lining up for goal to bring us within a point, misses, and they go straight up the other end and goal, while our guys may have already been in the three quarter time huddle.

I remember a year we were nearly as bad. We won only one game (excluding expansion teams) and we were constantly on the end of pummelling after pummelling. The year was 2012, but still, this year eclipses it. The beatings have become more ferocious and even the new boys are much better teams than us.

Magner not even an emergency. Seems very odd to me. I'm actually more bemused that Strauss still can't get a game despite being consistently in the best at Casey for 5 or 6 weeks now. He is more of a chance of being a long term player for us than Magner.

No hard proof that a banned drug was taken??? Hasn't the skipper admitted taking a banned substance on national television. I just can't see how WADA will let this one go through to the keeper.
