    MCC

HBT i'd have to agree with you. When a game has 20 thousand at it, 1/5 of the ground, i'd say there are easily more than 4000 in the MCC. Sure the top isnt full, but neither is any of the Southern Stand (trust me, i can see this stand well from where i sit). I'd say the MCC members as a percentage of the ground fills up more than the rest
  2. You cannot seriously be saying that a 19 year old is at his best, and can in no way improve. That's crazy talk.
  3. I'm not an expert on these things, so there could be something i've missed, but it sounds very exciting! Finally it feels like our club is being chased and sought over! Horrible to say, but now i know how Pies fans feel.
  4. Tim Forsyth is 35, and he hasn't properly competed since we last made a Premiership, don't think he'll fit the youth policy. Natanui cleared Fiji's Beijing qualifying height for the Olympics last year of over 2 metres, at a SCHOOL athletics meet!! So he's the next best thing Eastie haha
  5. The Quiet Achiever Interesting read. Really seems to know what he's about and what he has to do. Isn't afraid to talk up what he can do, but keeps it in perspective with what he needs to do. I like it. And proves what i've been saying all week! That his confidence is growing because of the faith shown in him by Bailey and that he is a "confidence player"
  6. So the 60 meter kick from the boundary line that split the middle summed up Buddy's innacurate kicking did it?
  7. Half and half. He hasn't been top since the big two left, and i don't really want him anyway.
  8. Maybe pick 17 and another player
  9. Don't think we're being told everything here at all. Ricky! Be fit!!
  10. Connex have released a "weekend daily" ticket, cheap daily rates for weekends. Check it out http://www.connexmelbourne.com.au/index.php?id=63
  11. Yeah, i don't like it either, but they're trying to protect the ball carrier. Pinning the arms and drilling someone in the back into the ground is probably pretty dangerous
  12. I still maintain we would've won if we had more legs at the end of quarters. Before anyone gets on going "dont blame this rah rah," i'm not blaming anyone. End of the second quarter we were owned in the last 5 minutes and lucky the Hawks didn't kick a few extra. Last 5 of the 3rd they kicked 4 in a row (after we could've kicked two but didn't). And the last 10 of the last they kicked 3 and could've had a few more. I think this points to two main things, that our young side couldn't keep the running going (dur) but more importantly, i think it shows the absolute tenacity that we played with, and that they did Neitz proud in leaving everything out on the ground. At half i called my mate telling him i was very proud but thought they'd run over us, we played so well in the third, few lat goals hurt us and i thought theyd run away again, but again we stood firm and brought it back. In a few years, when Bailey gets the boys playing with that intencity everyweek (hopefully) their bodies will be more used to it and we'll ruin sides
  13. First game was at the SCG, and he had more touches than Jamar!! I like that game because it reminds me how good Ricky P is.
  14. Is that a, does anyone know that garland has another contract, or a, does anyone know if garland has another contract?
  15. I doubt it because they aren't in control of the ball if they spoil
  16. Friday night for me, probably .1 ahead of saturday arvo.
  17. Watch the replay, and think about my comment. It was in response to someone saying Bell should be dropped BECAUSE of his disposal. He delivered at 80%. Bruce had 8 kicks and i can remember 3 not hitting a target, delivering at 84%. He had at least 3 handballs in the first half that 'hit' their target, but also put his teammate udner pressure. People have to stop the blind following of Bruce, especially when it impairs their ability to respond to an argument. I was not saying Bruce should be dropped, but i think an argument that Bell should be dropped for his "poor disposal" is a ridiculous position if you then wish to keep playing Bruce. So far this season, Bell has delivered at 81%, Bruce at 76 I think Bruce has been playing very well this year, but used him as a response to the rationale for dropping Bell.
  18. Yeah good point. Just watched my taped footy classified (amazing program) and Lyon brought that point up at the end. IT really is ridiculous. 14 straight sundays, interupted only by Queen's Birthday. Plus opening round, and i think one more. It really is a dead spot. Channel 7 run the footy like crap. Delayed game which they cant get away from quick enough at the end of the game, no analysis or anything. Plus Junior footy on, how can the club honestly hope to attract new supporters? Perhaps any Demonlanders who are adversely affected by Sunday matches can write to the AFL also. One night game, and 13 out of 14 Sunday matches really isn't good enough. Let alone the AFL making us play at Skilled and Manuka
  19. The Jeff White tackle was completely differet. The Crows guy did tackle him from behind, but immediately dropped his knees and let jeff fall but never pushed him forwards. Now this was an easier tackle to execute as Jeff was still, but Davey definitely got right into his back. Against the spirit i think, and i'd like it to have been paid, but under this current interpretation of the in the back rule, it was definitey a free
  20. Rather than everyone defending their right not to go because of football or funerary commitments, and the rest of the people here whinging about finding expletives to use against the rest of our supporters, why don't we start to think of ways to try and get more melbourne fans to the games i think this would be a much more worthwhile thread that, if we find enough reasons, we can send to the club to be helpful instead of chasing our tails
  21. My point is, you weren't there, and in another thread you said you didn't see the game, now you're passing judgement on something that happened which makes your post irrelevant
  22. Because you were there and all....
  23. Good call Brownlow doubt for Hawk Mitchell
  24. I have a question that hope can be cleared up; If the first 5 are being given away to new teams, and we win less than 5 this year and next (which i don't think we will), does that mean we get picks 6 and 7? If so, this isn't such a bad result, and we'd still be in the market to trade older players for other draft picks.
