  1. wow! can you predict a dees win this weekend?
  2. definitely a tough one i reckon. i think every dees fan was saying 'get him' when cornes was chasing the ball, but no one wants to see an injury. but yeah, if it was davey tackling cornes like that, nothing would have happened, pickett shouldn't be derided because he is a bigger body. perhaps he did intend to make cornes earn it, but what else should afl be about? but yeah, he's another one whose commitment could be brought into question
  3. very true, let's hope he doesn't have the same soft tissue injruies. bit of attitude too, anyone notice him clap the port guy after kicking it on the full?
  4. If umpires were more accountable would they be less hated? i feel a lot of my frustration is that you can see a game where they [censored] up everything, like today, the next day the only words you'll hear are gieschen and demetriou saying that the umpires did well. now i don't want a public lynching, but i reckon i'd go a lot easier on umpires if i know that the next day they would be held accountable, and that our pleas are not falling on deaf, arrogant, ears. i think the afl refusing to accept shocking umpiring is just another example of they do not understand the fans' views on the game.

    The Crowd

i for one am forgetting what a big crowd sounds like. hopefully when we beat the dogs and eagles, a few supporters will come back to the g and we can all be reminded of it, and back the boys properly
  6. a team without accountable results in players feeling overly confident about their positions, therefore a more relaxed attitude and approach. exactly what a player such as bruce does not need. he needs to know that he must perform to keep your spot, that's how he got to play afl in the first place. to say any player is untouchable is ridiculous. godfrey tries to kill himself every week because he knows even with good games he's on a knife edge. good point about his body size though, that could give him more confidence going into packs and contests.

    The Crowd

first game i ever went to was tigers bears, bout 15 years ago. think there were 4000 there.
  8. couldn't happen to a nicer team
  9. so true. it's funny when you follow the scores on the gameday pop-up. think you know the score, then turn on the radio to find its 2 goals different. money hungry bastards

    9.17

it's also a reflection on the mindset of the players. when we go on our winning streaks everybody knows we have possibly the most skillful team in the league. 9.17 is shocking, but 10.16 isn't much better. as the confidence in our performance grows i reckon our skills will improve too. don't forget sydney at the g last year, 10.3, good kicking, still got smashed. really want to skip these stupid odd years though
  11. i want to know how in hell moloney got done for holding the ball on members wing. no one called for it, there hadn't been any all day. where did it come from? let alone the fact he was biffed in the head. a minute later, tredrea holds carroll and gets a free. what in the world
  12. Off the bottom with wheels and brock back, now we get to see what our boys can do
  13. absolutely spot on! not to mention trav laying tackles after skipper's goal, inspirational
  14. that's shocking. hate these angry little moles that go to the footy then [censored] about people having a word or too. if they don't like people showing their colours, even if it is port adelaide, they should stay at home where they won't be bothered
  15. i thought master was great. his output was terrific and his presentation perfect. we need dunn and miller to also present in the same fashion, and i reckon we'd take a lot more marks in and around the 50 m line.

    The Crowd

fantastic effort by the boys today. great hard at it stuff and i reckon the crowd went at it too. just sad to see such a great effort go to waste because too many melbourne fans are willing to drop away after a loss or two. what is even more frustrating is going to every game, and then getting abused because you go for a team with 'soft' supporters and not being able to properly argue against it. no coincidence that the same game last year, which carried less weight for our season, attracted double the crowd, but probably the same noise level
  17. Where to for Cameron Bruce? he's the man every media pundet and fremantle-following hack thinks should be president of the afl, but the man has no bottle. the team could not have put in a bigger, tougher, more hard-at-it effort today save mr. superstar Cam Bruce. i think he needs a spell in sandringham to remind him of how hard he'll need to go at afl level, and while he's at it he can watch matty whelan for tips on tough footy. coming out in the media and proclaiming that we need four quarters from everyone and a need to step up is rubbish from a man who refuses to go hell for leather in contests. meanwhile, on positive notes, the boys aren't far away, and all we need is to repeat our 11 from 12 like we did last year and we're sitting pretty. with bate presenting like that, petterd thinking he's judd, skipper back, and matty whelan still to return, we'll be alright. by the way, how good was davey's winning goal!
