  1. As an afterthought, Casey Scorp might have more knowledge of this, but would it be a good idea if the dees bought a pub near the area as well? If its such a growing area, you always need a good pub. Doesn't have to be as Melbourne focussed as the Leighoak, but could be a place to watch us play, join supporters together etc. Also, maybe we should set up a supporters group down there so people can jump on board
  2. Honestly, i really can't wait to get the club involved in Casey. I think for too long we have lost out by not having a location, and it has hurt our club dearly. Look at the Western Bulldogs, always regarded a poor club, has just unveiled a new $25mil facility because of their intrinsic links to the community. The western bulldogs ARE the region. Every weekly bulletin in the Mail, the local paper, carries stories of the Dogs and often front page ones at that. Our membership is low, i believe, because there is no conglomeration of Melbourne supporters. We are spread far and wide and i think this has hurt us in becomming a force in the Membership stakes. I'd love to see us attack the Casey idea, hopefully backed by some good onfield performaces, because i think it will benefit our club immensely long term and hopefully it will snowball back into the Melbourne district.
  3. Apparently Vlad, and i think Ando, are going to the opening ceremony of the Olympic games in favour of being present at the Melbourne Grammar v Scotch and Melbourne v Geelong 150th birthday matches. What a disgrace. Hijack OUR 150th, and then would rather go to the opening ceremony than support their own sport. Unprofessional aside from all the rest
  4. These are awesome guys! I suggest they get sent to the club asap! With plans to send them to members. Fantastic work!
  5. Thank heaps Sandy! I think it's been a great partnership. We were the first weren't we? A very common sense approach the whole way through i think, and a very professional way of looking at it. (and to the Saints, i liked the bit about allowing Melbourne into the Casey growth corridor, it seemed very professional) I'll miss seeing the young Dees players at Sandy. But it's a good way to set up our new boutique stadium! It'll be good to watch young Dees boys playing at a ground that will hopefully house the Dees, with Casey playing a curtain raiser. Sounds weird saying Casey instead of Sandy. Again, thanks Sandy, i was a Sandy fan before our alignment, and i think i'll continue to be after (Aside from the obvious team). Best of luck! Premiers '08 one last time (in the alignment anyway)!
  6. We're gonna get spanked. Whoever wrote the names of these players in the positions is on something. But we have no backline, and yes i know Junior played on Rioli, but come on! No small defenders of note, Rivers named on the bench. Even then if he plays, that's 4 tall defenders. No Davey, No big body to win the forwardline duels in Holland. Excited to see Sylvia up forward with Dunn and Bate, and i'll be curious to see how Johnson goes. But hate to say it, i don't think it'll be a good day for us
  7. Our clash jumper is still better than this jumper
  8. That is AWESOME! I want one!! You must send this to the club!

    Robbo..

I wouldn't call it a Godsend, because i love Robbo, but i'm excited what it could mean. Miller around goals, Sylvia if he pulls his finger out, one of our most important players in Matty Bate can start sticking around the forwadline and sticking some marks. PJ can be the big body that allows Davey loose ball to attack, along with Aussie who is also a mobile forward. Each of these can put pressure on the Defence, when they pull their finger out, and most importantly, each one is mobile. Now i prey this doesn't become mobile in a 'now they can play in the midfield' type, but more, one that, with a skillful midfield that we can hopefully develop, will be multi-pronged and pretty potent i reckon
  10. Just in the spirit i thought i'd have a go Not great at designy stuff though or... haha
  11. Show me where he states "The players weren't invited, i was mortified about it and so i addressed the problem." There is no direct quote from him saying this. I vividly remember round 3 talking about going to the dinner, before McNamee came on board, and thinking about whether it was worth the money to have a player at the table.
  12. Interesting body shape in that jumper!
  13. Words, words, words. Our players are very good at sprouting them, but it means NOTHING if it doesn't get onto the field. And that's not once a month, it must be week in week out. It's the only way to prove your loyalty to each other and earn respect in the league
  14. Didn't see it. Saw a replay of Bartram going through someone, didn't look good, but nothing of that either
  15. Where in the world did you hear this? I'm paying $500 dollars for a table, the extra $150 coming just to get a player on my table.
  16. Poor Not as bad as this one: But still poor
  17. Not to mention midfielders clogging the leading space in the forward line!! How many times yesterday did Bartram stand in the space? BAH! Drives me bonkers
  18. Course we'll all bloody be there! How could you not?!? It's Queen's Birthday, our most bitter rivals. The Sunday of the QB match is like Christmas eve, drama tension, excitement. Gameday is amazing. Sure we might get spanked, but if you cant support your team in our (ONLY!!!) blockbuster then really! We got spanked in '01,'02,'03 and looked like getting done in '04, but how sweet was it when we finally won it. Don't care about the result, it's the one game of the year i will not miss! For anything!
  19. As Do it for Robbie said, it EPITOMIZES everything that is wrong, being that he is an emblem, a statement, a signifier for all that is wrong. Therefore, if you agree that he lacks skill, leadership and is hesitant, then you agree with his statement and you should apologise for challenging it
  20. Agree. Bruce, wow. Not the reasons we lost, no one ever says he is, yet those blind bruce believers who follow in his every footstep will take in criticism of him as being as such. Not a leader, not a good disposer, and not a part of our future, where does that leave him?
  21. In an odd way, i'm excited our traditional forward options are down. I'm hoping it will force Brad Green up forward, and it will allow Miller the space and responsibility to leadhard in dangerous locations. Coupled with Matthew Bate's presence around half forward, Sylvia up and about with Aussie around the feet should make for a much more mobile, and dangerous, forwardline than we've had. The lack of strong targets will mean our midfield will need to use the ball well when coming forward. The second part of this that i'm excited about, is that our midfield will hopefully start to take the front half of the ground on and start kicking some goals
  22. But if Bode and Johnson are the replacements for Davey and Morton, then why would Valenti be dropped for balance? That doesn't make sense
