  1. How about the one handed pick up and give off in one motion in the last... We haven't had a player like this before.
  2. He has good instincts, hasn't made a bad decision. A footballer
  3. He has great agility, he can turn on a dime and find space. He will become seriously good.
  4. Have written to the VFL. Un[censored]believeable.
  5. In terms of disasters at the MFC, Prendergast rates above Neeld and Schwab.
  6. I think we will cough it up now and then, but we also get a lot of scoring opportunities on the back of creative handball. Personally I see clearing the congestion by standing up in tackles and working out a path with handball is one of our new found strengths. We will continue to get better at it. It's a bit like Tom McDonald's turnovers. Some only see the glaring mistakes and forget about the previous five rebounds where he has taken a defensive mark, run hard and hit a target on the half backline to create a i50 opportunity. To produce wins we need to take risks and we will make mistakes, as we develop we will get better at the execution. If we don't take risks we will go nowhere, no team will fear us and we will be dictated to.
  7. Indeed, we dare not discuss the football objectively. Let's rant and rave instead.
  8. "served up some of our most noteworthy and terrible disappointments!" I would have been much more disappointed if we had lost by a hundred like we usually do over there, but then I am here to discuss the footy.
  9. Lack of composure from a young team who don't yet know how to win. And possibly the NT factor.
  10. I must be a football genius like the other 80% of Demonland. I think most hoped we would be 8-12 wins, push some top teams and no thrashings with young players showing signs. I think most expected us to finish in the grouping outside the 8. These losses will stick in the craw of young players like Viney, Hunt, Petracca and Brayshaw. Yeah we should have won, and I hate losing, but it won't hurt us in the long term. When Viney is our captain and names like Hunt, Petracca and Brayshaw and in our LG we will get these games going our way. This is a nice list and there is a culture developing lead by Viney, despite a large hole down back it's not hard to see the possibility of gradual but meaningful and sustainable improvement.
  11. And Oliver should throw the player's code out the window if true. Dog act.
  12. No. It comes from being an objective football lover of many decades and not an emotional wrist slashing moron. Thanks for asking.
  13. Really? Where have you been for 8 years? I would have said most who knew the list would see it going almost exactly to script.
  14. This is a very good young football side that will be very hard to beat soon enough.
  15. Roos has been extremely important but we need to remember that while we may have built a decent platform to attack the future a great deal more confidence we haven't actually achieved anything. The main thing that Roos brought with him was credibility, and this intangible quality has meant that we are taken seriously again. Look at the last team that played under Neeld and see how far the list has come. Roos is a major player in a multi-faceted plan implemented by several characters. He and a number of others have contributed to identifying areas to improve and implementing plans to make it happen. At this stage the club appears to be purring along nicely, but let's save the backslapping for the day that we hold the cup aloft.
  16. I believed that Watts needed to play with greater intensity. I was not wrong and neither were his numerous coaches who would have given him this same feedback. Just as I believe that he has become a very valuable footballer now that he has he has improved that part of his game and I am still not wrong. In fact his coaches ability to identify those areas of Jacks game that needed work would have come from astute observation and response. Observing and responding is part of being a football lover Stalinyrconhome. It is a good thing.
  17. This is what is exciting, there are a few players that have this and not much else. This kid has a powerful game.
  18. Sounds hyperbolic but I am not joking, I think he will be the most exciting of our young players bar Hogan and we have some very good young players. He is the package. Has a rare combination of exceptional speed, courage and smarts. He lacks composure but most sub 20 gamers do. He is a game breaker and will cause our opposition a lot of headaches, Draft position and what players did pre AFL has little relevance. This kid has got it.
  19. Will be as important to us in his position as Jesse Hogan. Just needs to learn to slip back from 5th the 3rd before he kicks...and he will.
  20. I support the club and the players that play for it. Supporting the club means that I watch the players. Watching the players I form opinions on them. Coming to Demonland allows me to express those opinions on occasion. Stalinyrconhome would like us all to stop expressing these opinions.
  21. Invoke football communism. Every player gets the same money. Rotate them equally to give them all a go. Hell lets get rid of the scoreboard we cant have any of the lads feeling down about losing.
  22. Tmac plays high risk high reward footy. As he learns to minimise the risks he will become super valuable. I also have little doubt that the coaching panel are pushing him to keep playing attacking football. He creates as many opportunities as he concedes. Plays a lot like Matthew Scarlett ...obviously has a fair way to go to. He will stay at the dees. His manager will make sure that he is numerated appropriately.
  23. Yeah he goes ok. This bloke will give Jeffy opportunities. Has a rare combination of smarts, courage, speed, strength and confidence. Hunts the footy, hunts the man. Will be a better player than most of our highly lauded young brigade, might even be the best of them.
