  1. Maybe, but we can't keep him on our list just to stop him scoring 40 goals for the pies. Doesn't matter if he wins a Brownlow next year, he was going nowhere on our list and needed to be replaced for our club to progress.
  2. If Prickering says that, it means he'll end up at West Coast or Hawthorn!
  3. If we ran society based on votes on the AFL website, Eddie McGuire would be President of Australia. And Adam Goodes would have his citizenship cancelled.
  4. In the Hun: "JEREMY Howe has sacrificed money to fulfil his childhood dream of playing for Collingwood " So he was a mole all the time! Now he's exposed, the only safe haven is the Scumbag Centre, where he will he harboured, but never trusted.
  5. Point is, none of Pickett, Vardy, Moorcroft, etc, took the club anywhere. In and out of there leaving no trace except for a cheque book full of stubs
  6. Pickett. Vardy. Moorcroft. Our track record in these one-year wonders who bring a wealth of premiership experience with them is not good.
  7. Can we lose Dawes as well? Think big!
  8. "All we was doin' was sittin' in this bar an' singin' Khe San at the top of our voices over an' over. Who doesn't love Khe San, eh? Some [censored] come over and sez we should stop it but he don't appreciate good Aussie music, dun' he? Waitresses were awesome, mate -- fer Chinese that is. Had a grope of one, I reckon she'd have been up for it -- wait, whose shout is it? [censored] off Davo! Bloody is not!! Anyway some other bloke come over -- reckon he might of been a bouncer or summit -- reckons we gotta go but we weren't doing nuthin' ... told him to [censored] right off -- we'd have taken 'im anyway, it woulda been 8 on 1. Chinese bouncers are tiny, mate. Chook had a spew in the dunnies again. P*ss poor aim, Chook. Never could ralph on target. Couldn't get in there, mate, it was rancid ... so's we went in the chicks one. Talk about funny looks -- strange buggers, these Chinese."
  9. Apart from one or two, they are intellectually lazy and won't jump on this until the club they follow is affected by it. The party line at the minute is, everyone's over the Essendrugs thing, and wowee, isn't this trade period a cracker? About Nov 15, they'll realise this thing is back on the front burner.
  10. There is no doubt that Gil "the Dealmaker" will attempt to massage the verdict. It's what he does. It's all he does!
  11. I take from that article that CAS are not just an arm of WADA. They will look at this case straight down the line and won't take any guff from either WADA or Essendon. Which hopefully will give a just and appropriate outcome.
  12. You tell 'em, OD. You're the bearer of bad news around here.
  13. Goodwin won't go down with the players. That will come later when WADA go after the coaches, using the results from the players' hearing.
  14. You can get stuck into the FD for that if you want. Right now, we're getting stuck into Howe.
  15. Maybe those things happened. Maybe a giant comet will strike the earth tomorrow. We'll never know. We can only go on our perception, and that's why I said, it's the apparent dishonesty.
  16. The reason is: first he played the "oh, I'm just waiting for the end of season to resume negotiating with Melbourne" game. For every player who does that and goes on to re-sign with their club, there are 20 who have already checked out mentally. Howe is one of the 20. Second, he could have said before trade week that he wants to go to Collingwood instead of being coy and implying that he's prepared to go to GC. He's stuffed our trade week strategy. In short, it is the apparent dishonesty that gets people going.
  17. You're thinking of hefty "if you get done for drugs" get-out clauses? Surely the club wouldn't be so foolish as not to?
  18. In theory it's to allow a player who has been at a club for a while and doesn't like it, to go somewhere else and take his chances. In practice it's to prevent the AFLPA suing the AFL for restraint of trade and winning. Which would destroy the AFL.
  19. Miller's problem was that in spite of having all the skills, he always handpassed when he should have kicked, and kicked when he should have handpassed.
  20. Very strange for people to want her to remain chained to the past. Even if she was married to a combination of Nelson Mandela, Gandhi, and Fred Hollows, she still has the right to live the rest of her life.
  21. Well, what we're talking about ... Gerard ... the top fifty ... the top fifty, Gerard, is ... it's ... when you've got a top fifty, you've ... the players. It's about the players. And there are fifty of them Gerard. You've got ... WE'VE got them. We've got them Gerard. And the players, they're our players ... when you, when you, when you, no. The fifty players. The fifty. Let's call them the fifty. And when you're a player, Gerard. When you're a player. It's – it's nothing. It’s not nothing. It's something. It's something to be a player. And when you're a player. You run out on to that ground. And you're think I'm a fifty. I'm a top fifty. No. They're not thinking that Gerard. They're ... have you ever seen ... have you ever— Gerard. Have you ever stopped. Stop. Have you ever been in a situation when you’re a player and you're kicking goals and you're getting handpasses and you're taking marks and you're ... and you're not thinking I’m a top fifty ... and goals. And the goals Gerard. The goals are ... they're goals. They’re just goals. But they're more than that. They are goals. They are goals Gerard. Are they thinking Gerard, are they thinking about a top fifty. Are they thinking about— they're thinking about getting a kick … and wives, Gerard. And girlfriends. There’s more to it than that Gerard. There’s more to it than kicks and handpasses. There's more to it than that. And the kicking and the running and the ... are they thinking Gerard about goals and, and have they ... have they .... do YOU think about that Gerard? Do you? Do you think about that Gerard? And the fifty. The fifty. What I'm talking about is the fifty. And the players, they ARE the fifty. They are the fifty. Some of them . Most of them. The fifty ... are they thinking .... Gerard, they run out there there every week. They do it every week. And the goals and the marks and the ... you, you, you, you, come in here and you talk about the players. Am I talking about the players? No. You talk about the players and I’m thinking, I’m thinking, is it about the players? Is it really ... about ... here's something else Gerard. The players ... the teams, Gerard. The top teams ... they are the top teams. They are the top teams. The top teams ... they're clubs Gerard. They’re clubs. They kick goals. They are out there and the goals and they kick goals, and these fifty. These fifty players. They are the fifty. Let’s the call them the fifty. Are they ... you can talk about all these teams and all these players and you can’t tell me that they are teams who are teams of players and they the players ... the fifty. The teams and the players and all the goals and handpasses … are they the fifty? Are they the fifty Gerard? You ask me. You ask me and I’ll tell you. The fifty. I’ll tell you. Are they the fifty? Are they? ........ I don't know.
  22. Question. How many people 10 or 15 years would have dropped everything to watch the grand final no matter who was playing? How many of those watched it yesterday? (Disclosure: I always watched years ago, and didn't even have the radio on yesterday.)
  23. 44 players to do a knee and both teams disqualified.
  24. A coach who looks the other way? As jotnar said, marriage made in heaven. It will "drag on" all the way to Melb Cup day when it will be quietly announced at 7PM that the enquiry has concluded. But don't hang by the nads waiting for the "findings" to be announced (some time in 2036). Does it even need saying.
