Tried it for a year or two ... unfortunately we were too far down the ladder for anyone to take notice ... except for Eddie ... he said "we'll have that" and the AFL said "yes Eddie" as they were so accustomed to doing. On your larger point. the AFL is a corrupt organisation with a warped way of running the comp, and have little integrity. I think for many of us, only a lifetime of foolishly invested nervous energy into the MFC keeps us coming back.

This. The AFL might care to push us around and get another club in there but they will find it increasingly hard to do that to Richmond. And if Richmond are bed with us on this then they should support our cause. Nonetheless it would be just like the AFL to say on one hand "don't complain about ANZAC day, make your own marquee games" and then take it off clubs doing exactly that.
