  1. If that's the case binman, then I wonder how it would have played out should Jackson have sustained a significant injury. Does the club believe he won't then be traded (a la Trengove nearly going to Richmond) and see that as a beneficial outcome and continue to play him (and scupper the Grundy trade if he stays injured). Or did they just play best available 22/23 in any given week irrespective, as we're in the premiership window so any "development" of players like JVR needs to come of the back of legitimate spots available (eg TMac injury). I find the question fascinating, as Trengove post his foot injury was never the same player for us. Risk management wise, if you know with certainty that Jackson is going, do you have an obligation to the club to nurse him and maximise your trade value.
  2. I don't know why they'd freak out. Haven't Carlton lost Round 1 for the last 40+ years?
  3. There's got to be a one-eyed joke in there somewhere?
  4. Don't bother with a PM my way. If you'd said to me in 2013 that we'd have a No. 3 draft pick come our way, he'd play a big part (no rose coloured glasses here) in winning us a grand final and then he'd be gone, I'd have taken it in a heart beat. I'll always be thankful to him for that, but I have no interest in what he does now or the macchinations as to why he wanted to go.
  5. I miss the family days they used to have at Luna Park, but I’m delighted we can’t go back because we’re now a decent footy team and fans want to come along.
  6. Is the South Side Six hotel the Sandbelt?
  7. I'm happy to come and pick it up Goffy, from anywhere.
  8. Has anyone ever seen you and Demonstone in the same room at the same time?
  9. That's how they pronounced it back then.
  10. Looks like Robbie Flower, bottom row third from left. Zac Toohey sitting next to him, and Harry Potter sitting next to him. This is quite fun.
  11. Is “rocks in your head” a clue WCW? another brick in the backpack causing concussion perhaps?
  12. Love this. Chris Sullivan was so prolific he got on the shirt twice. Good luck finding both!
  13. With Fritta as the third tall, and with both Gawn/Grundy on the field, IMHO we can only have one of BBB and TMac as the No 1 forward target. Both have the turning circle of the titanic and apply little forward pressure when the ball hits the deck. JVR for me is the second tall given his followup work at ground level. I'd give the extra spot to Chandler or Milkshake.
  14. I say throw a plane in with his next contract and let him commute to training from wherever he likes
  15. The thing I like about the stand rule is players taking a set shot at goal without defenders running at them as they come in to take their kick. My view is there were multiple examples of the defender running over the mark, disrutping the kicker and never getting pinged for it. Glad to see that stamped out. Couldn't really care less about the rule otherwise in general play and glad to see 50m penalty infringments removed.
  16. At the launch of AFLW, with Daisy as one of our two marquee players, she told Gil Maclaughlin that "if you make me play for anyone other than the dees, then I"m walking away from the game" That's when she won my heart, and my admiration for her has only grown since. What a ripper. Best of luck in everything you do Daisy.
  17. Sounds like every game day thread I ever read
  18. Would Blighty still get a kick?
  19. Is this the club recognising we won’t turn up for 9 games?
  20. I hope someone punches him in the face.
