CHANGES: Rd 03 vs Essendon
Could be a pointer that Frost was only traded because of contract demands and our club simply not being willing to use up cap space, rather than having an illuminated moment that we're too dumb in defense.

Great coaching from Goody
It's the 'slam it forward to the hotspot so often you can't lose' strategy applied to the time scale. IE Belt em so hard in the first quarter that they can't come back, or if they do, we'll have reserve energy to lift in the last few mins. Sophisticated stuff. Hasn't worked for Collingwood yet though.

POSTGAME: Rd 02 vs Carlton
I don't want to start a thread, but this question is for those who have heard all our players talk and watched them play. Which players, and how many of our players possess a good tactical knowledge of the game? Of structures? That know where we're breaking down mid quarter and communicate it to the more inexperienced? They don't have to be Luke Hodge on ch7 explaining everything that's going on, as he has an elite understanding. But something approaching that kind of logical way of thinking. Do we have a dearth of these types?

Angus Brayshaw
Credit where credits due then. I personally was more of mid 2019 "We can trade him for Brad Hill" typa guy. And the usual fools scoffed at it.

Yze for Coach?
15 more rounds of this and we'll see.

POSTGAME: Rd 02 vs Carlton
You're assuming it was a wasted lockdown role and that Harmes could've nullified Cripps though. Maybe Cripps gets off the chain on Harmes in the first quarter, it's closer at QTR time AND then he dominates up forward when it's too late and we move Oliver onto him. We don't win by 6-8 goals, we lose. Oliver beating him in the first half is a win.

Yze for Coach?
And as ruthless an attitude it is to have the premiership or bust attitude, I value those memories of going to the footy and enjoying our Daniher coached teams that ultimately fell short. Club has to make a move on a coach at some point. My only point is that failure in both 2020 and 2021 to save on a big payout, is far less palatable than just taking a risk on a new coach and turn around that brings a financial winfall along with it. We all want to see on field improvement, maybe it will only come with a new coach.

Yze for Coach?
Where in the rulebook does it say a sacking of a coach sets you back a number of years? How did the Saints go after they sacked Grant Thomas? Freo after Mark Harvey? Ever heard of the sunk cost fallacy? Sometimes a coach can only take you so far.

CHANGES: Rd 03 vs Essendon
But Corey Maynard realized it wasn't for him and retired off the back of his demolition by Selwood, and Petty came back stronger as a forward. Is it that necessary to play a man down again or have more structural imbalance in defence, just for their individual morale? It could get worse.

Melbourne the odd one out?
I liked that even when Neitz had his off days where he couldn't clunk a thing, he'd still halve every contest and hit a pack with ferocity. TMAC needs to in the least, be that imposing if he's not taking them. @GCDee a TMac mentor at least, get him down there a few days a month!

Yze for Coach?
I'm of the same opinion, if things don't change. We simply cannot risk missing finals in 2021 by sticking with him and writing the year off and having to do a mid season sacking anyway. A 2 year payout would be hard to take, but bouncing back with a new coach would invigorate the fans (Roosurrection days) and a fresh new style might see us bring in more people to the games, and making a surprise finals surge would reap profits that would make a payout palatable. A big 15 games ahead.

Jake Lever.. Can someone explain??
After all pick swaps, it equated to a pick 10. I'd take Lever for 10. That was the whole point in 17', we needed proven defenders, not a speculative kid

NON MFC: Round 02
Instead we had to put up with Jobs4mates Watson that reads player stats and has nothing much tactically to add. The guy does zero footy media anywhere, but lands special comments on Friday footy? Laughable.

NON MFC: Round 02
If I had to pick a best quarter of the 8, I'd still take the rich v Coll last quarter for the contest.

Pickett & Spargo Break COVID Restrictions
We'll have to call him 009 if he's conspiring to undermine and usurp Kozi for his position. ?

Pickett & Spargo Break COVID Restrictions
Which is Fantastic. However if you're in a European country where it's unfortunately dirt cheap, the smoking is ubiquitous and just dirty to have to walk through!

Pickett & Spargo Break COVID Restrictions
Aside from covid issues, I hope the fags were just curiosity or temporary lapse. I bought a pack for the first time in 5 years last night after too many beers. Had a few predictably digusting puffs and then through the packet in the bin. Bloody waste of money. Spargo being a regular smoker might explain why he doesn't have the energy to kick it 30m!

NON MFC: Round 02
At least the 16 mins made it faster for me to fast forward through the match They finally had clean possession of the ball, I'd be playing for the draw too. The pies have lucked out in avoiding extra time these past 10 years!

Pickett & Spargo Break COVID Restrictions
"Do you want the good news or the bad news first dear? Bad news. Kozi has been suspended for a week And the good? So has Spargo .. I'm guessing someone made this gag already, but I CBF reading 4 pages of dramas.

TEAM: Rd 02 vs Carlton
He played there against Richmond and was near BOG for us by half time. He has the tools to play there and would be a useful option in there to develop with his ball use and aggression.
