What the Opposition are Saying: Rd 02 vs Carlton
I mean it's better match discussion than anything on FTA/ch7 and more akin to fox footy pregame in their "war room" - not complaining.

What the Opposition are Saying: Rd 02 vs Carlton
Unless we return to our 2018 i50 conversion form, the horrible beatings will not continue. We'll be back to the 'Rely on Jordan Lewis to whack Cripps and regain momentum and overrun them' days of close encounters. Or who could forget the round 22 loss in 2016 when we had a chance to make the 8 with 2 games remaining. Yup, she could go either way nowadays.

To get more Carotene and melanin into his system.- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
He probably will become a premiership legend, into his mid 30s at Hawthorn.- CHANGES: Rd 02 vs Carlton
Sorry mate, did a ninja edit because it was over a year ago, wrong info!- CHANGES: Rd 02 vs Carlton
From being an injury prone player? Might always be managing his knees.- MATCH SIM: Saturday 6th June 2020
I would just hope the club is prepared to gamble on a bank loan to pay his 2 years out at the end of year, if its more of the same on field for the next 16 matches. Banking on a new coach turn around and final$ windfall in 2021 would surely be more cost effective than writing off 21' just to "save" a big payout.- MATCH SIM: Saturday 6th June 2020
He hasn't trained as a mid and is very inexperienced in general. I think Cripps would lick his lips if Smith walked over to him next weekend!- MATCH SIM: Saturday 6th June 2020
If you want to see him be Corey Maynarded- MATCH SIM: Saturday 6th June 2020
Maybe Cripps is a step too far for Harmes, As Fyfe and Bont at peak, would be too. Left field idea that some will scoff at, and I'll preface this by asking: Who out of our mids has the most pesty niggling personality? Who has the best ability to go toe to toe with Cripps? Best build for it? The answer is clearly Clarry. As good as Oliver has been these past seasons, maybe an accountable run with role for him would be a good starting point to the year. Maybe that would make space for Brayshaw, Petracca and Viney to be the ball hunting mids that feed it out or surge it fwd. If Brayshaw isn't accountable, he'll be dropped for another. If Oliver isn't accountable, well the coach will never drop him because he wins it too often. And fair enough. However Putting him into a tagging position does force his hand on becoming an endurance footballer that has to run all day. Maybe this handball/kick ratio could actually only be improved by getting him to play an offensive tag instead of be at the coal face trying to win it. Just a thought.- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
Touch Down!- MATCH SIM: Saturday 6th June 2020
Planning your attack around Fritsch becoming the next Gary Ablett is a bold strategy DJ. Let's see if it pays off for Goody.- MATCH SIM: Saturday 6th June 2020
Fritsch still being our best forward seems like a concern, for the forward dynamics. He plays on a 2nd tall from any club, or Lever/Petty and he'll be kept quiet. May blunts TMac, understandable. But then Brown, Weid, Jackson, any reports on forward work? Contesting? Marking? Goalkicking? A lot is riding on these boys. As well as Petty if we also plan to slot him forward- Richo Impressed By Goodwin
Or we could just criticize an underperforming coach that is hired by (ie isn't) the club and anyone put in front of a camera to sing their praises. As we wait patiently for the club to make a move on getting in the next Neal Daniher...- Richo Impressed By Goodwin
I'll only be impressed if it's the Richo in the ch7 commentary box that's impressed that Goody has the players winning a match of footy.- Joe Daniher
I should have added that this whole discussion came about on Footy Classified after they talked about Buddy Franklin and that Sydney couldn't afford to go after another injury plagued kpf due to their history and having Sam Reid too. This thread is predicated on the availability of a restricted free agent kpf. In 2020. I've heard no whispers about Wright, so it seems like a Hail Mary to say we should go after him? If not Wright, who else do you put in the category? If you want a lump in the forward line, well the best lump that can clunk it is Mason Cox and he's poachable with Collingwood cap. However, I think what JD offers is a natural intuitive forward sense, that we're lacking. He'd round out our talks in the future if we got him right, but would also round out our current senior talls. TMac needs to be 2nd fiddle! And not to Fritsch, Goody you plank.- Coronavirus & Other Sports
Nice bait troll.- Coronavirus & Other Sports
This may be hard to take, given your virtue signalling to demonland about volunteering at salvos, but the world doesn't revolve around you. A forum discussion is read by more than just you, so not a waste of time to share information and sources on a given topic.- CHANGES: Rd 02 vs Carlton
And we'll probably waste another 25 games to find that out before giving him the boot and writing off 2021. Anyone pencilling in Carlton, StK and Essendon as wins in the next month is basing it on nothing other than footy played 21 months ago! On the topic of his pep talks. I get the impression he comes across scripted and wooden, has a bit of Bill Shorten about him. You can just tell that head coaching is not going to work out when only sustained success warrants not hiring better coaches out there waiting for a gig.- Coronavirus & Other Sports
You've managed to make yourself look like a bigger idiot by thinking that doing research on a topic you have an opinion on is a waste of time.- Coronavirus & Other Sports
Antifa isn't even an org, but a loose umbrella term for a multitude of left wing groups all with diff extremeties and aims, but all gathered around being anti fascist. For trump to want to declare "anti fascist" left wing groups terrorists and like tweets such as 'the only good democrat is a dead democrst" should raise some concerns over the looming spectre of fascism in the US But the point @drysdale demon is that there definitely are vested interests that want to incite violence and crush movements.- Coronavirus & Other Sports
https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/twitter-fake-antifa-acount-white-supremacists-removal/ And now you have fake antifa accounts promoting violence linked to European white supremacists. And Putin's puppet Trump shouting about antifa as terrorists. And even this week Trump trying to Get Russia back into the G7 Anyone with half a clue about geopolitics knows that all of the recent events this decade are part of Russia's "Foundations of Geopolitics" by Dugin used by Rus military. Just check the goals related to Ukraine, UK brexit, Europe, US all coming true https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foundations_of_Geopolitics#:~:text=Russia should "introduce geopolitical disorder, the U.S. It would also the United States: Russia should use its special services within the borders of the United States to fuel instability and separatism, for instance, provoke "Afro-American racists". Russia should "introduce geopolitical disorder into internal American activity, encouraging all kinds of separatism and ethnic, social and racial conflicts, actively supporting all dissident movements – extremist, racist, and sectarian groups, thus destabilizing internal political processes in the U.S. It would also make sense simultaneously to support isolationist tendencies in American politics".[9] ?♂️ And then a long us government history of infiltrating political orgs: COINTELPRO (syllabic abbreviation derived from COunter INTELligence PROgram) (1956–1971) was a series of covert and illegal[1][2] projects conducted by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) aimed at surveilling, infiltrating, discrediting, and disrupting American political organizations.[3][4] FBI records show that COINTELPRO resources targeted groups and individuals that the FBI deemed subversive,[5] including feminist organizations,[6] the Communist Party USA,[7] anti–Vietnam War organizers, activists of the civil rights movement or Black Power movement (e.g. Martin Luther King Jr., the Nation of Islam, and the Black Panther Party), environmentalist and animal rights organizations, the American Indian Movement (AIM), independence movements (such as Puerto Rican independence groups like the Young Lords), and a variety of organizations that were part of the broader New Left. The program also targeted the Ku Klux Klan in 1964.[8] The FBI has used covert operations against domestic political groups since its inception; however, covert operations under the official COINTELPRO label took place between 1956 and 1971. [12] COINTELPRO tactics are still used to this day and have been alleged to include discrediting targets through psychological warfare; smearing individuals and groups using forged documents and by planting false reports in the media; harassment; wrongful imprisonment; and illegal violence, including assassination.[13][14][15][16] The FBI's stated motivation was "protecting national security, preventing violence, and maintaining the existing social and political order".[17]- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
I'll leave that discussion to more educated minds than me re Bruekner, Burgess etc. But could one factor not just be time? Freo might've gotten him right if they'd stuck with it. If we'd taken HB back in 2014 or so we would've given up on him too already, and another club would be in the position we are in now, with him ready to play.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
The old adage if a tree falls in the forest.. if Hogan kicks a bag in a non demon game, will there be any dee fan around to see it? I know I did not schedule any freo games into my spare time last year or will this year, so how can I cheer him on?! Tbh I would love to cheer him on to kick 8 against us, just to witness some decent intuitive forward craft, wrestling a defender out of the contest and taking a 1 hander. thats the kind of [censored] I can enjoy...but at the end of the day, we still get up by a point over there. Best of both worlds! - TEAM: Rd 02 vs Carlton
