  1. Actually later in the show they said that if Collingwood lose the opening blowtorch would be on them, they'd temporarily forgotten that there is a bigger vic club in a bit of strife atm. And you'd expect that given the ratings bonanza addressing the wobbles.
  2. Have they ever had one of those? ?
  3. Yeah. We need to, but we're not going to.
  4. The Footy Gods are showing us mercy with the injection of good form into teams around us in Carlton, Hawthorn, North, Sydney. We just need them to give St Kilda and GCS some wins and the low pick is ours. If we're going to lose most games, it's nice to see others around us winning at least.
  5. KD sinking jump shots from all angles in the arc. Just what this club needs.
  6. It was a sign of things to come though more so than the QB match that year. They were able to reproduce that quality of footy the following year against us, and then in the prelim v Richmond and WCE in the GF. Did we just choke again? We came up against a style of outside spreading football that we simply couldn't counter with our chaos style. Only WCE have been able to counter Collingwoods burst footy by putting 4 quarters of football together and wearing them down with possession and their talls. We simply cannot play against this tactic YET until we can get a WIN, therefore we could be considered to be 'dominated' by it I believe. Maybe it's just sematics
  7. Dropped again.
  8. It's a bit of a balancing game, but i think we have to responsibly mortgage for the future and pick up a player that can help us next year. So that's why I think targeting a FA & going to the draft for the first time since 2015 is a better option to address short and long term goals. Maybe we actually need to trade away a player and use a 2nd round pick to bring in a player of high calibre in. If it's ed Langdon then it's pick 20 + Player, perhaps with another freo player or pick coming back. I just don't see who on the market is worth pick 3 right now? Any ideas?
  9. Or maybe it was a case of Collingwoods game plan dominating us like it has done ever since.
  10. Is anyone on the market worth pick 2 or 3 though, unless it's out of left field? And shouldn't the priority be to acquire an elite Free Agent so we can actually go the draft and get a ready made player like a Sam Walsh ?
  11. We better lock up Harrison Petty real good /s
  12. Can we another pick inside the top 10 by trading our 2020 1st round pick? I wonder if any clubs have low expectations of us improving next year... If we have pick 3 and are taking best available, and it's Gould. Then we can/should offload a defender like a Frost or OMAC as part of any kind of package with that 2020 1st round pick. Then with pick 7-10 you get a speedy mid like a Dylan Stephens..
  13. Googwin molly cuddling the players off-field definitely explains how soft our defensive pressure has been this year.
  14. More of a pre-limb final for us going up against their outside run!
  15. We could save a lot of hassle by having a downvote button on a thread, with an automatic thread deletion if it gets to about 80 or 90% downvoted. Mods can go on holidays. That being said, i'm really surprised this is a 50/50 split. I would've thought 8/10 demonlanders would've seen a place for Jones rotating through midfield and up forward next year. What would I know though
  16. Carlton should've beaten us in 2017 when Lewis threw a punch at Cripps and shifted the momentum. The year before in 2016, we had a chance to make finals and Carlton smashed us in round 21. We've never really been as far ahead of them as we all would've liked to think. It all clicked last year against weaker teams, but the weaker teams have improved far more this year. Preliminary Finals, yeah we caught a break with a month of footy with two dead-rubbers and games against two stale old champion sides that needed a hard reset because they lost to a team like us. Heck, even 2017 had better wins against Adel, WCE & Collingwood. 2018 we actually slid against the best teams if you look at how we played v Collingwood and couldnt beat a top 8 team all year. So I really don't think a loss to Carlton takes us back any further than we are. We already know that Carlton have been able to take it up to us in all but 1 year of the past 5. We've always played dumb chaotic footy, nothing changes with a loss to the Blues.
  17. Another boring match. I'd envy Geelong for being so methodical and disciplined as a team, but the place is a dump and their best player is a homophobe. The comp is in a terrible state with them up the top.
  18. He can and should use his size in more the mould of Kawhi Leonard, just completely dominates and is unmoved from the space he inhabits or decides he wants to go to, but in a calm and measured way. Doesn't go around aggressively seeking contact or to dunk on people in that egotistical fashion. Petracca i think swings on the pendulum of happy/sad, confident or unconfident too wildly. I don't think he needs to play angry, but try and play in neutral emotionally balanced way. He has the talent to beat a player on pure ability and doesn't need to hype himself up to do it. Sam Mitchell played this way too. Just performs and then moves on to the next play, and doesnt linger on missed opportunities which effect confidence and... set shot kicking.
  19. Despite a few media outlets saying NM should trade Brown for high draft picks, I don't think they're anywhere near that stage. Brown is Tasmanian born and loves playing there. I'd presume NM consider themselves ready for the fight of jumping back into the finals even this year, but definitely next year and would want way more than pick 3-5. Probably two first rounders or more. ie the offer they can't refuse. Just can't see it happening. I wonder how much we could offer Jeremy Cameron though. Would we be willing to offer up 1.2m per season to lure him?
  20. C'mon Oscar
  21. I thought it was hilarious. He was being held but played it up in such an awkwardly absurd way with the delayed reaction. He has no history of it, strong word not necessary.
  22. When/How the hell did Sparrow get injured?
  23. He looks like:
  24. Both. It's possible to finish last on 11 wins, I saw some one on reddit r/afl with too much time on their hands create a ladder with the remaining fixtures that had every team on about 11-12 wins. ?
