  1. In regards to getting a trade done without Hogan picks. What happened to the "Gold Coast need players not picks" media discussion a few months back and us offering some players with a 2019 1st round pick?
  2. @EnterTheDragon hasn't responded for 30 minutes. Should we call an ambulance?
  3. You're missing the point. Weid got into the team right at an opportune moment when we had our backs against the wall and we responded. I don't think his inclusion was a defining factor in us beating WCE and GWS. So how would Hogan have gone in those games? Maybe he would have stepped up and made a big impact. The point is that Weid got the opportunity and Hogan didn't. Concluding that he can't play against top 8 teams, is the same as concluding Weid couldn't pre round 20, until he did.
  4. Would love to hear a 4-way roundtable between Andy, Grapeviney, PJ & Special Robert this wednesday. Podcast #1 was a classic
  5. I don't actually think the question of how Hogan goes against top sides has been answered yet. How did Weid go in that period while our midfield, defence and our coaches box were being crushed? He didn't play. But at the end of the year he got the opportunity and stepped up. Hogan never got that opportunity. It's only fair that he be assessed next year properly like Weid was, or not assessed at all.
  6. You guys should try mosaic cake. You crush a few packets of any kind of biscuits and then pour over a cooled down sauce made of butter, melted chocolate powder, eggs, sugar and then put in the freezer to harden. No baking
  7. That's what we should rename Freo's medical assessment to
  8. I never said we should do that deal, i just said that 5 + Ed Langdon is a fairytale right now. We might dig in and pull off 5+23 if Freo cave, but the mental health rumours suggest otherwise. Getting Langdon instead of 23 seems fanciful imo
  9. With all due respect, have you been asleep for a week? The dockers value Hogan at pick 11 + 23, not 5 and Ed Langdon. Mental health rumour spreading suggests they're not going to cave.
  10. If Hogan commits for 5+ years, and another player doesn't. We're still in the same position as we are now, only we're probably more likely to get high draft picks that we can use to set us up with a gun for the 5-10 years after this window, or to immediately fill the gap left by the player through trade or FA Maybe the lofty goal of all players buying in and taking paycuts like other clubs, is an attainable goal too? Josh Kelly and Dustin Martin aren't wearing blue and white next year. (And neither is Tom Lynch)
  11. Do we know clearly what the Steven May situation is with Gold Coast if we don't sign him this year? Are the rumours true about him touring Bulldog facilities? Is staying for one year untenable for him personally or the club? (not that they have any say) - is he willing to wait a year to become a demon? A Hogan committed for 5 years, and a freely acquired Steven May committed from 2020-2024 is the best situation here, so maybe the club should just put that lofty target in their sights and make it happen over the next 12 months.
  12. Thankful to have a safe-space away from Freo fans here on demonland. Just reading the rumours on reddits AFL page and bigfooty does my head in. I'm going to have to avoid them like the plague until trade week is over.
  13. They traded pick 6 away to Port just to spite us and force us to accept 11+23 imo. Also to get Lobbe of course, but then they screwed him too and offered it to Tim Kelly. Doesnt make much sense to offer us 5 after all of that
  14. Would have to be a player of good potential and quality. If we ruthlessly wanted to address a defensive deficiency then perhaps a particular midfielder or half fwd/mid would have to be in the deal. We already traded Tyson so I just don't see us taking one more out of the middle.
  15. Adelaide got back Carltons 2nd and 3rd rounds this year. i think 21+39
  16. It would look like podiatryland.com/forum with every man and his dog giving an expert diagnosis on how they dodged a bullet, i'm guessing.
  17. Let's be super positive. Maybe 6/6/6 and the hands in the back rule being withdrawn will turn defenders into pedestrians that get scored heavily on no matter how good they are. Having a jacked forward line might be the best bet next year.
  18. It makes both parties look stupid imo. Funny how no one has mentioned that despite the whole forum being against 5+23 an hour ago.
  19. How do we get this done? We have his non public nomination on our side to get this done. 2019 first round pick + Sam Frost.
  20. As someone who grew up barracking for the Dees up until the 2000 GF, before losing interest in my edgy 20's because "footy was for bogans", before jumping back on board in 2013: Who is Tom Scully? I'm not as much of a fan as many who've stuck with the Dees through those years i'll admit. PS: I do know the tom scully story, but don't have any emotion about it as i wasnt around then, so dont care if we brought him in if he fills our needs.
  21. The only issue was Lobbe. Freo want Lobb and i dare say pick 11-20 will get it done, currently they're rejecting 5+23 from Bris. My idea is simply to leave Freo pick 11, we take Bris 5 + 2019 first round pick, they get Neale + The pick/player that gives them fair value for losing a 2019 1st round. Bris would back themselves to finish with pick 8-10 anyway with Neale on board.
  22. They'd be reticent to do that, knowing we're getting a pick to get Steven May and then looking at being a premiership favourite. That's Pick 19 or 20, not 15. And without Neale, an injury to Fyfe or Sandi has that being potentially pick 1,2 or 3.
  23. Is there a way for us to get Brisbane's #5 AND 2019 first round pick (5-8) so Freo can send them neale, and we can then send Hogan? Which player and pick could we send to Brisbane? I'd much rather us take a pick 5 into the draft AND get Steven May. The goalposts don't have to shift from our initial request of pick 5 & 6. Especially not to 5+23+30 pick etc
  24. I'm thinking Brisbane are on the losing end of the stick, so i edited in our 2nd round pick of 38*? to them Getting pick 5 + potentially pick 5-8 next year and losing Hogan, 38 and Hunt seems about right. Not too sure about Freo really. They get Hogan and Lobbe. Success.
